Sometimes makeup can increase acne--but I think that's mostly if you don't wash your face morning/evening. If you have really severe acne then it might encourage it to break out more, but I've never had this problem.
I'm not a huge fan of Taylor Momsen, or her makeup. I don't make strong eyeliner, but her look is a little *too* strong for me.

Yea, I agree on Taylor Momsen. Some of the pictures of her I've seen look like she took a black sharpie and drew around and around her eyes with it four or five times.
Makeup doesn't increase pimples unless you don't wash your face. At least not on me.
Valiant_Lucy: Yeeeah. Taylor's make-up is too strong. She is pretty but the make-up on her doesn't enhance her beauty, in my opinion.
Narnian_at_heart: She reminds me of 101 Dalmatians, she looks like she has spots on her eyes. (no offense to T.Momsen fans here).

SO...anyone know how to make your eyebrows lighter (temporarily)? I saw a tutorial but I didn't do it right...

Huh...I mean, I know how to make them darker, but as far as *lighter*...the only way I can think of that would work would be bleaching them.

I recently got that as a sample. I don't usually like Sephora Brand products, I find them a little cheap compared to the rest of the stuff in the store. But this was, absolutly, AMAZING. Seriously. I've never had any type of makeup work so quickly and effectively. *literally* as soon as I swiped it on my lashes I noticed a huge difference. I know it sounds too good to be true, and maybe it's just my lashes, but it's so true! They really looked way fuller, more defined, without looking all "fakey". And then if you layer another mascara on top it increases that! I'd highly, highly, recomend this. As soon as my sample runs out, I'm getting the full size!!

Eyeliner, when used properly, is to make your eyes appear larger. Mascara is supposed to make your eyelashes appear longer and darker--but again, this only happens when it is applied correctly.
So...what is the proper way to use eyeliner?
Thanks, LoN

My hair curls but only at the ends so most of the time I straighten the top of my hair but not the ends so that they will still curl. As far as make-up I where cover-up (only under my eyes and on my nose, not to be confused with foundation) and Mascara, NO eye shadow or liner for me ^^

Question for all your amazing make up gurus out there. How do you keep your eyeshadow from sliding/disappearing into your crease? I don't wear much, just a neutral brownish, enough to make me look a bit more awake and alive. Is this a common issue, or am I just totally weird? Any tips?

Lady Liln, this is totally a common issue. And thankfully one with a pretty easy (although not completely inexpensive answer). Eyeshadow primer!
It is seriously the best thing invented! Run to your nearest Sephora (or order online) and pick up some Primer Potion by the Urban Decay brand. It's a little pricey, but soooo worth it. I promise it'll keep your eyeshadow on all day! Guarenteed Definetly a good investment product, cause you only need a little so it lasts forever.

Also, buying good quality eyeshadow (aka: not drugstore) really helps. The more highly pigmented your eyeshadow is the brighter the color will be and the longest it will stay on.
Applying your eyeshadow with a slightly wet/damp sponge applicator instead of a brush can sometimes help it stick more too.
Hope this helps!

We have Ulta around here, not Sephora, but it looks like they carry that eyeshadow primer, so I'll add it to my list. And, yep, I've been using Clinique's eyeshadows, which I think are a fairly decent quality. Then again, I've only been really using makeup since spring/summer, so I'm still learning. Thanks for your help, Val! You're awesome!

Eyeliner should be applied just above the eyelashes, but as close to the lashes as possible. It helps if you slightly pull your eyelid to the side, and do it with that particular eye half closed. I suggest not applying eyeliner on the bottom, as it makes your eyes look harsher and sometimes even a bit smaller. If you feel you must, just do it on the outer edge, and stay away from the tear duct area.
I wish I had my pictures from work with me--on one of my current projects, we have a character that starts out good, and ends bad, and we used this technique to make her appear harsher and evil-er. And it worked pretty well.

Ok, I have a question. Well multiple questions . Ok, I have Blue green eyes, what colors should I use for eyeshadow and eyeliner? And, how do I put it on without making It look like a mask? Oh and I have blond hair, would that effect the color to use too? I have short hair is there a way i can put it in one of those old fashioned buns? sorry lots of questions!

I'm currently on a no-makeup kick because all mine expired-- getting new makeup for Christmas!
Do you guys ever go a day or two without makeup? I like the edition of French Elle's mag they published a year or two ago which featured actresses "sans fards"

It's a nice look that I use on my good-complexion days.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum
I regularly go days without makeup, it's quite refreshing. I tend to save make up for days when I have more time, which is actually more often than not the days I don't go out much The people I live with think I'm a bit barmy because I like to spend ages picking an outfit, doing my hair and make up and picking a perfume all to wear for a day I'm staying inside
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.
Thanks for the answer, Lady Arwen! Wow, that sounds cool about how you changed the character! (I love acting, costumes, assuming different characters...lol) I will have to try it out and let you know how it works! (Uh, the nice-looking way, not the evil-looking way... )
