It seems that not so many NWers are "crafty", thinking about how many people are on NW and the few who have posted here. But I'm sure glad there are a few! I knit, crochet, and recently learned to spin. I'm ObiKnit1 on Ravelry.com *everyone wonders why that is* .
I don't have many pictures of my knitting, here's one of my dog Pippin wearing the sweater I knit him. It's a pattern I had to create because Pippin is an Italian Greyhound. Quite simply, he's the same as a miniature Greyhound. With that huge chest, scrawny limbs and tiny waist, he's quite a challenge to fit.
And yes, he hates snow. Hence the look on his face, subtle though the expression is.

I am a beginner just starting to learn how to sew. To save money, I found directions on the web on how to make a sewing mannequin to use to fit patterns and clothes under construction.
Make your own fitting assistant for sewing clothes

Has anyone ever tried this and is it worth the effort to build?
I've never tried it... Sounds interesting though!

Danger - I don't know...I think the vest looks good! But, I am probably biased by your choice of yarn. It looks so thick and warm and comfy to wear, not to mention versatile, since gray looks so cute with so many other colors.
Tiana - Too cute!!! Have you finished the other hat yet?
Lady Courage - Where did you get that yarn? I love the color and texture! Lovely work.
And this is my latest project, which I made for a cousin for her birthday. I had a big of a challenge gathering the corduroy, but I am pretty pleased with the finished purse. The pink cord is from my Grandma's stash (she wanted to clean out one of her sewing cupboards - lucky me!) and the floral is just one my Mom picked up one day at JoAnn's (she let me use part of it, since I was making a gift).

sometime, I will try to put a picture, but I have invented a bag made entirly of yarn that holds a bottle of water! I call it a "Water Bottle Bag"! each one takes me (at the least) a week to make ans my finger hurt afterward, but it's really worth it!
I use one of those round frames (the cheater's way of knitting a hat)
and a chrochet hook!
I have been knitting for two and a half years now! I love knitting!

Horse_Lover: yeah, my family asks me all the time how I do it, but I can't really explain! that must be what it feels like to invent something, I guess!

Lady Courage - Where did you get that yarn?
Actually, that one was made from holding 4 strands of fingering weight yarn together. It's KnitPicks Essential, I think... And I don't remember which colors right now, but it was 2 colors of brown and 2 colors of green, I know that.
And the bag is way cute! What'd she think of it?
Liberty, you really do need to get a picture of that! What do you use the bag for? To hold the bottle only, or to keep it cool, or both?

Jo, I finally did finish the hat that I posted about earlier in this thread.
And here are a couple of pics of a hat that I made to wear when I'm on duty at our local Fire Department (DVFD). I just finished today:
Edit: Been a while since I've posted here obviously. I've forgotten how to code urls.
