Happy Birthday, coracle! 
johobbit, the belated birthday celebration at work was really nice. A very good lunch, and I was given a plant - would the term be a houseplant? I guess it may be a Dahlia of sorts, and I hope I can make it survive in my office the six weeks before the summer holidays (when it's likely to die for lack of water).

Thank you for the kind wishes. I had a day out in historic Chester, and it was lovely and sunny (probably in honour of the royal wedding).
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Thank you all! There was cake at work, and cake at soccer in the evening, and virtual cake here--oh boy, I sure am stuffed!
Jo, it shows up fine on my screen. Very a propos, as we are doing a major cull in the school library, a necessity which pains me greatly.
