Aw, thank you all for those kind messages and gorgeous cakes!
I had a lovely day and a fun evening. 
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Thank you, ladies. I had a lovely day. It was a nice break from work and the general craziness of life right now. Games are a big part of birthdays at our home, one of my favorites is Scrabble which I lost four times on my birthday. I think it was payback for the time I won four games in one day. 
I did win a game of Sequence. 
Y'all know me pretty well. Those cakes are so amazing.

Oh, thank you all! I did have a good day - I'm glad that the treats on here are virtual, as I got far too much sugar, beginning with a steady stream of goodies at work. Think I'm still buzzing today.
I am currently sheepless, Betsy-Rose, but it brings back fond memories. I hope to get a couple more within the next few weeks, primarily as companions for my lonely horse. We'll see...
That library cake is amazing, jo - so many details. I must say that I wouldn't have the patience to do something like that - everyone's lucky if I even get around to icing the things.
Of course, it doesn't quite represent my library - I mean, room on the shelves? What sacrilege! Where are the volumes piled on the floor, stacked to the ceiling, stuffed into crevices and stowed in boxes?
Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away ... my days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle
