That flower is gorgeous, aileth ... a mini hibiscus? Can't quite place it, but it sure is perdy.
Isn't it rather a rose - perhaps a Rosa_tomentosa?

You're right, Varna, it is a rose, but I'm not sure what kind (not my picture, you see).
The wild roses are out in abundance, and so is our "rosewalk." Very prolific, and very early.

Thank you! A pleasant day at work, and this evening visited my friend in hospital as a surprise for her.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
