Welcome back, narnianerd!
It's been really nice welcoming new members recently, but there is nothing quite like seeing a familiar name on the site.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
Coracle, That's for sure! To be honest, I never completely went dark on the site, but my activities were certainly restricted to far corners of Ditto Town. That being said I've definitely neglected the more mainstream side of the forum. Here's to active participation.
If you ain't first, you're last.
Greetings
I'm Doctor Know. I've been a Narnia fan since childhood and have recently redsicovered the series and now enjoy it more as an adult. Looking forward to chatting with other fans and expressing our shared love for the series.
Welcome to NarniaWeb, Doctor Know! Yes, isn't it amazing and so precious reading the books again as an adult—to realize and plumb the depths of Lewis' writing on a very different level? Glad you have joined the forum!

Hi there, Doctor Know! Welcome to NarniaWeb. The fact that you enjoyd the series even more as an adult doesn't surprise me. With every passing year, my love for The Chronicles of Narnia seems to grow — they really are a treasure trove and re-reading them always unearths something interesting and new!

Welcome to NarniaWeb, Blackstar! Glad to have you here. Since you like reading, I bet you'd enjoy our Books thread here in the Spare Oom. And if you're a writer, you might enjoy checking out Writer's World as well — the thread is a little dusty, but it's still open for posts!
Let us know if you have any questions, and have fun exploring the forum.
To add to Rose's suggestions, Blackstar, I would recommend checking out Ditto Town, Narniaweb's official home of writing and role play. Not only can you talk with other writers (and generally hang out), but you can also post short stories of your own creation and complete other writing challenges.

My user name is Narnian78, but I am the same person who posts under the comments as Larry W.
I have read the Chronicles of Narnia at least four times. I remember taking a C. S. Lewis course in college many years ago and really enjoyed it. My favorite book of the series is Voyage of the Dawn Treader because I love stories about sea voyages, and in Narnia they are combined with fantasy.
My age is near retirement. I have a college education with a B. A. Degree. My occupation is in food service, which has nothing to do with my degree.
My hobbies are collecting lighthouses (mostly of Michigan), birding, amateur astronomy, and reading books.
Before I came here I posted on the Into the Wardrobe website forums (which closed in 2010). I also posted messages on The Stone Table forums, a website which is now gone.

It's nice that more and more people from the comments section are going on the forums.

Welcome, Narnian78! Glad that your wanderings through Narnian cyberspace eventually led you to NarniaWeb, and now, from the comments section to the forum.
If you like amateur astronomy, I bet you'd enjoy the Space thread here in the Spare Oom!
If you have any questions, please ask, and enjoy exploring all the discussions here.
Thanks Rose Tree Dryad. I'm still amazed by pictures of the planets that were taken the Voyager spacecraft so many years ago and the more recent space probes. I wonder how many more planets astronomers will find (including those orbiting around other suns). I love astronomy books and have a number of them at home.
Welcome to the forum, Narnian78! It's good to have you here.
In conjunction (pun intended ) with Rose's good suggestion for the Space thread, also take note of Astronomy topic, which some of us frequent. As for reading (which many of us treasure, too), check out Books!

You're not the only one. There are a very few of us who hover around there too.
A warm welcome to you!
