"Ha! It'll take more than being tied to a lit keg of explosives and tossed into a pit of acid filled with mutant, acid-resistant flying piranhas equipped with flame throwers and battle-axes while mechanical, missile-launching morris dancers armed with liquid nitrogen harpoon guns are overhead, riding giant, rabid killer bees with side mounted death rays to kill Othar Tryggvassen!"

Lady Haleth, I love Andrew Peterson! And that song is one of my especial favorites.

Here are a couple of my latest favorites.

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh?" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you."

To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it in tact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully around with hobbies and luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket--safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.

I'm kind of obsessed with movie quotes, especially Disney. Here are a few of my favorites:

“Oh, that reminds me! Last year at the Salmon Run, my friend Bucky totally dared me, but I’d heard about this other cub who stuck his tongue to an iceberg, and then he started to float away, and so to save him, they had to like rip off his tongue, and so now he hath to tog like thith all a time…”

-Koda, Brother Bear

“You must never give in to despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road, and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.”

-Uncle Iroh, Avatar: the Last Airbender

“Fly away, Stanley. Be free!”

-Fillmore, Cars

“Ah, how shall I do it? Oh, I know. I’ll turn him into a flea, a harmless, little flea, and then I’ll put that flea in a box, and then I’ll put that box inside of another box, and then I’ll mail that box to myself, and when it arrives…I’ll smash it with a hammer! It’s brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, I tell you! Genius, I say! … Or, to save on postage, I’ll just poison him with this!"

-Yzma, The Emperor's New Groove

“I give up. I see no point in living if I can’t be beautiful.”

-Howl, Howl's Moving Castle

“Trolls exist! They steal your socks, but only the left ones. What’s with that?”

-Gobber, How to Train Your Dragon

“We look like bad guys. Incompetent bad guys!”

-Lucius, The Incredibles

“Why are you initiating physical contact with another woman?”

-Eska, The Legend of Korra

(Yes, this is from Book 2! If you haven't seen it yet, go see it!! ;) )

“He’d make a very handsome throw rug. Just think, whenever he gets dirty you can take him out and beat him.”

-Zazu, The Lion King

Okay, that's probably enough for now... And that's only a small sampling of my collection of movie quotes. I've got tons more. :p

Here are a bunch of Marvel movie and TV quotes:

The world is full of evil and lies and pain and death, and you can’t hide from it—you can only face it. The question is, when you do, how do you respond? Who do you become?" -Agent Coulson, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ep. 12 "Seeds"

You've just destroyed the world's most dangerous sandwich!--Agent Fitz, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ep. 9 "The Hub"

The world is crazier than I am--Dr. Erik Selvig, Thor: The Dark World.

Ta-da!--Loki, Thor: The Dark World

. . . there is only the next mission. For the first time in my life I know what I have to do. And I know--in my heart--that it's right--Tony Stark, Iron Man

Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to exit the doughnut!-- Nick Fury, Iron Man 2

You can take away my house, all my tricks and toys, but there's one thing you can't take away: I am Iron Man--Tony Stark, Iron Man 3

These people are innocent. Taking their lives will accomplish nothing. So take mine--and end this. Thor, Thor.

A strong man, who has known power all his life, may lose respect for that power. A weak man knows the value of strength--and knows compassion--Dr. Abraham Erskine, Captain America: The First Avenger.

Loki: How desperate must you be, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?
Nick Fury: You threaten my world with war, you steal a force you can't control, you talk about peace, and you kill 'cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate--and you might not be glad that you did.The Avengers

Fandral: Our dearest friend banished, Loki on the throne, Asgard on the brink of war, and you've managed to consume a side of beef, two roast boar, six pheasants, and two casks of ale! Shame on you, don't you care?
Volstagg: Do not mistake my appetite for apathy!

Thor

I don't want to kill anyone. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from.

Steve Rogers, Captain America: The First Avenger.

I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him. Dr. Bruce Banner, The Avengers

These ones are behind spoiler tags because they're from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and I don't want to spoil it for anyone:

Spoiler
The price of freedom is high, always has been. But its a price I'm willing to pay. And I might be the only one, but I'm willing to bet that I'm not-- Captain America.

Don't look at me. I do what he does, only slower. The Falcon,

Alexander Pierce: Are you ready for the world to see you as you really are?
Black Widow: Are you?

The Falcon: How do you tell the good guys from the bad guys?
Captain America: If they're shooting at you, they're bad.

This isn't freedom. This is fear--
Captain America.

Captain America: You're my friend.
The Winter Soldier: You're my mission
Captain America: Then finish it. 'Cause I'm with you to the end of the line.
:(

That's all for now.

Hey. - Simmons
Yeah? - Grif
Do you ever wonder why we're here? - Simmons
It's one of life's great mysteries, isn't it? Why are we here? Are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God, watching everything, with a plan for us and stuff? I don't know, man, but it keeps me up at night. - Grif
*beat*
What? I meant why are we here, in this canyon! - Simmons
Oh ... uh ... yeah. - Grif

You don’t need to treat me like that. I’m not crazy, okay? I’m totally and completely sane. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go blow up this dead body. - Agent Washington

Normally, I would agree with Simmons. But that would mean that I would agree with Grif! Therefore, I will simply grunt ambiguously. - Sarge

Don't be so quick to judge, Grif. Shotgun to the face can be a plan in a variety of situations. For instance, watch how quickly it cures insubordination! - Sarge

Hey, you dropped a grenade. - Tucker
That's not one of mine. Caboose, pick that up. - Church
I'm not allowed to carry grenades, remember? Because of that one exploding time? Which… was no one’s fault. - Caboose
Well, I didn’t drop it! Tucker, count yours. - Church
I have a readout on my helmet, dummy, I don't need to count. - Tucker
Oh, right. Well, it has to be somebody's. - Church
*beat*
...Somebody threw a grenade at us, didn't they? - Tucker
Yeah, we probably should've figured that out sooner. - Church

How do you feel? - Tucker
Like running over each and every one of you. - Epsilon
So, about like normal. - Tucker
Pretty much, yeah. - Epsilon

Tucker! Tucker! Come here! Tell me I'm cool! Tell me I'm lazy and I don't play by the rules! - Grif
What? - Tucker

I ran across this quote by George MacDonald recently and liked it a lot. It's a good thing to remember.

Let me, if I may, be ever welcomed to my room in winter by a glowing hearth, in summer by a vase of flowers; if I may not, let me think how nice they would be, and bury myself in my work. I do not think that the road to contentment lies in despising what we have not got. Let us acknowledge all good, all delight that the world holds, and be content without it.
