We're on the northern edge of that big storm, and one local meteorologist called this a "kitchen sink" forecast - in that it has just about everything.

Right now we're looking at a daily record high temperature of 77F/25C - the average high is 41F/5C. Astounding!

High winds will accompany the storm that will be over the central US; by this evening we could have severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, and even tornadoes.

Temperatures will rapidly drop overnight with blizzard conditions likely to the west of here (we may get a dusting of snow). By late tomorrow night our temperatures may drop to 18F/-8C.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Shocked fantasia!

We had the tail end of that storm this past weekend that stargazer mentioned. A fair bit of rain, along with high winds.

Today is warm, for this time of year in our area: 18C / 54.4F. But tomorrow the temperature begins to drop, and starting Saturday through early next week, at least, we are sitting at daytime temps of around 4C / 39.2F with some rain and good possibilities of snow (albeit wet). Nighttimes, especially Thursday and Saturday, will be well below freezing. Smile

From Ontario Instant Weather yesterday:

How are you enjoying our ‘Spring of Deception’ season this week?

Many areas across Southern Ontario are basking in double-digit temperatures today and that will continue tomorrow.

However, get it in while you can! We could be talking about -20°C wind chills and the potential for snow by this weekend into next week. Winter is far from finished!

And here is their image. Giggle

What a storm we had overnight! Only a few fluffy, snowy inches, but after a week of thaw 'til all our mounds of snow were mostly gone, everything is blanketed with a beautiful white again. Love it! We were hoping for another good snowfall or two before real spring actually arrives, and sure enough, it came.  Dancing ...

To the point where the major Ontario highway, #401, just north of us, was shut down before dawn this morning because of very icy conditions. Vehicles, large and small, were sliding into the ditches all over the place, apparently. This was very obvious, even though we cannot easily see the highway from our place, because the traffic was streaming into our little village early this morning as I headed out for my walk. In fact, there is a hill at our nearest corner, and the huge trucks were honking their horns in warning, as some of them could not stop due to the ice on the road, and had to come barrelling through. We are surprised, and very thankful, there was not a collision there. Whew

The cars and trucks were being diverted off the highway into the countryside to the south (our area) and into town to the north. Typically, I see only a handful of cars on the country roads on my walk, but this morning it was like a bustling city! Believe me, I got out on the gravel roads as soon as I could, where I barely saw another car.

The temp on my walk was -6C / 21.2F, with a slight windchill. Very, very pleasant walking. And all was so pristine white and hushed. Gorgeous! I shoveled our fairly long driveway after returning home, which I always enjoy. The snow was light and fluffy this morning, the best kind of snow to shovel. Smile

The daytime temperatures rise a bit above freezing over the next week, bringing some rain, while at night they hover around 0C / 32F, and drop quite well below towards the end of the week ... great for walking!

Mont Tremblant in Québec is still very snowy, so our son, daughter-in-law, and 2 & 1/2 year old granddaughter took advantage to ski/snowboard there all last weekend. Very good conditions, they happily reported. Smile

Here, we are still hoping for one—or two Bats eyes —more snowstorms before spring descends. Giggle

@jo while you're facing snow, on the other side of the Atlantic we seem to have bypassed spring and the passed few days have been almost summer. Clear skies, little wind, beautiful sunshine and temperatures up to 18C (which to some people isn't overly warm but to the Welsh is lush). I've left the house without a coat for the first time this year and found myself working from the garden in just a t-shirt, while all the parks are filled with picnicers. I don't know how long it'll last and knowing the weather rollercoaster we experience over here it'll probably be grey skies and rain in a day or two so better make the most of it.

Our weather is much closer to the Welsh conditions Moonlit_Centaur described, rather than the weather in our neighbor to the northeast that Jo mentions. Today is warm (for spring) and sunny, and tomorrow will be downright hot (possibly 75F/24C).

But it won't last, with storms bringing rain and maybe some snow over the weekend. But it isn't likely to be anything as significant as the snow Jo has had. Enjoy and keep safe!

Enjoy, Moonlit_Centaur. Smile I can imagine Wales would be so beautiful in any season!

75F, wow, stargazer. That is very warm for this time of year!

Well, speaking of snow, ours is mostly melted, given two warmer days after it fell. But, there are warnings out all over especially southern and eastern Ontario for this weekend. The Toronto area will be receiving some freezing rain, but much more serious, eastern Ontario is forecast to have a major ice storm. Sad

Our temperatures here in SW Ontario will be above that thin, yet critical, mark when rain changes to the ever-dreaded ice. So, we will be receiving a lot of rain this weekend, melting any final vestiges of snow. There may even be thunderstorms today and tonight (which I really enjoy).

Walking will be pretty much non-existent this weekend, but I had a good, long, brisk jaunt this morning at -3C / 26.6F, so look forward when I can get back to this again, probably not until early Tuesday morning, given all the anticipated rain over the next three days. That's okay ... swimming will be the exercise until walking weather descends again. Smile

Our weather had been dry of late, until over an inch (25mm) of rain fell Saturday evening, turning to snow on Sunday (most of it has melted now despite rather cool temperatures).

And another winter-spring type storm is expected tomorrow and Wednesday (no April Fool's joke!), bring up to a foot (300mm) of snow to areas northwest of here. We're expecting a full smorgasbord of weather: rain, thunder, freezing rain or sleet, graupel, and "pancake style snowflakes," to quote a local meteorologist.

The maple trees around here have started blooming, and my seasonal allergies aren't letting me forget it! 😉

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

We had that astounding mixture yesterday, plus some of the white stuff: so, snow and thundersnow (which I love!), freezing rain, graupel, torrential rain, thunderstorms all night long. Thankfully the thunder last night was not the big, booming kind—still loud, but long and rumbly. Wonderful to wake up periodically to this somehow comforting sound.

How did your area fare, stargazer?

The highways and roads were a sloppy, slick mess all around southern, SW, central, and eastern Ontario. And that is after the devastating ice storm that central and eastern Ontario experienced just last weekend. Many folk are still without power, which is not expected to be restored until this weekend. Trees down all over; hundreds of damaged cars and buildings.

I needed to go into town yesterday afternoon, and hesitated because of the storm, but tested it by walking outside on our front path a bit. There was some grip, instead of it being all ice, so I ventured in. There were fewer cars than usual, and everyone I see was driving with care. Thankfully. I made it safely to my destination, and then home again after a couple of hours.

What an adventurous weather day!

The next 2-3 days are forecast to be warmer than normal temps (mid teens Celsius / around 60F), then dropping on Sunday to single digits again, and nicely below freezing at nighttimes. Back out walking then, for sure! The long-range forecast is a cooler than usual April.  Cool

Meanwhile in Northern England, spring is definitely here and we've had day after day of lovely sunshine and it's almost outright warm...ish. Grin   A young colleague of mine from central Africa, who came here this time last year and found the weather far too cold for her, says her prayers this year have been answered!

Whilst Down Under, the mornings are now somewhat chilly, with temperatures as low as 10 C at Campbelltown, yesterday morning at 7.00 AM. It is nice to hear that Spring has Sprung in the Northern Hemisphere, whilst here, it is definitely Autumn, now, and I have the Spring fever to show for it. Sick 🤧 It will also be time for Flu vaccines, and turning back Daylight-Saving time is scheduled for next Sunday, I believe.

Winter is returning this week for us. We may the only family really happy about this. Giggle Snow tonight and into tomorrow—although probably not much accumulation—and flurries on Thursday, with temperatures all week well below normal for this time of year.

Tonight's low will be -5C / 23F, with windchill at -12C / 10.4F, as the snow falls. Walking early tomorrow should be really pretty ... and very invigorating! Tomorrow night is -10C / 14F (not including windchill). The many birds and first Spring bulb plants whose tops have poked through the soil are becoming quite confused. Giggle

It's STILL sunny in most of the UK, but not really hot, which is just my favourite kind of weather. I'm not complaining. Cool

Here in Phoenix, Arizona, it's going to be 86 degrees Fahrenheit for the high. Rather pleasant compared to the usual triple digits/90s, but still pretty warm.
