Local rain totals are now over 15 inches for the season. More rain expected during the week.
Glim, hope you like rain okay.
Looks that way, LOTS. More rain today and tomorrow but should end Sunday. Then we get to dry out a bit during the following week. Seasonal rain totals up to 15.93 inches (about 5 above normal) so should go over 16 inches tonight or tomorrow.

Our weather today is that of a nice late-February day. Too bad it's the end of March.
I took a walk in the local park today; the sun was out but it's still cold enough that the snow is solid rather than slushy. I saw and heard a number of spring birds (like robins and red-winged blackbirds), but they were probably puzzled...the wetlands and forests they live in are still snow and ice covered.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
This is going to be a very interesting week. The forecast is for wind with dirt, breezy, wind with dirt, breezy, breezy, and wind with dirt. Temps in the upper 70's and 80's which is nice. But not looking forward to the days with expected dirt storms.

Winter is breathing it's last at last with April spring has truly come. It rained today, such nic spring rain, it's been a while since we had so much snow in April, but hopefully it will all melt soon. I can already see a difference, it's amazing how fast the snow can melt. And I'm not sorry to see it go

People here in El Paso always complain about fast weather changes. I've seen it go from summer to winter in a few days but nothing like what Colorado is going through right now. Yesterday, Denver was at 84 degrees snapping record highs. Today it got up to 60 degrees and right now (1:30pm MT) it is snowing in Denver. People have a hard time believing me I've seen the summer to winter change in the span of an hour or two and here is yet another example.

Well the snow is long gone in Oswego. In fact it's pouring outside right now, but all things considering it's been relatively nice out... it has only rained 3 times in two weeks (which is pretty minimal when you live literally a minute's walk from Lake Ontario.) When it hasn't been raining its been really sunny/ cloudless. I could actually see some stars a few nights ago.

After at least five times of all the snow disappearing, it getting to the mid 50's, and me saying "That's the last of Winter!!" (and it snowing again the next day), I'm hoping it's really gone this time. Hardly any snow on the ground, there was a real thunderstorm last night, and it hasn't gotten below 40 in the daytime for quite awhile.

It may reach the sizzling temperature of 60F/16C here today or tomorrow, for the first time this season. I'm eager enough to build a fire out in the backyard that I'm willing to dig the firepit out of the remaining snow.
This past weekend I was about 2 hours south of here visiting my parents, and the weather there provided a dramatic illustration of the effect of snow on the ground (or the lack of it). While the temperatures languished in the mid-50s F (about 12C), down there they soared to the mid-70s F (about 23C). The very next day it was almost cold enough to snow.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Just curious, what's the weather forecast for Chicago this coming weekend? I leave on Friday for the weekend to compete in the most important fencing competition of my collegiate career (and last). We want to know what kind of layers to bring. We know Chicago climate is very different than what we have here in El Paso, so knowing what to pack will greatly help.

Hurrah, spring has come at last!!!! The snow is meltin and there are puddels everywhere. We had a very long and cold winter this year with heaps of snow. The temperature here is around 15 C. And yesterday I saw a little flower starting to bloom! Sigh...its good to be alive

We've had some fluctuating weather this past week: a week ago today it was 89F and dry and today's high was 61F with rain.
Supposed to be very cold tonight with more rain into tomorrow. The seasonal rain totals are 16.11 inches so far. After Saturday we'll see if 17 inches is reachable.

It got very hot here for awhile -- hot like summer. Now it's starting to cool down. But it won't be long until it gets hot again. Summer isn't too far off.

Well - overnight the grass turned bright green. Literally. It looks fake. I'm so happy!! All of a sudden, it got really hot yesterday, up to 80, and that was simply amazing. I'm so happy it's spring, soon to be summer! I'm SO ready for it!
And now it's just around 60, and I'm wearing a T-Shirt.

Our spring weather is something like that Fencer's described for the Denver area. We still had snow in the yard when the maple trees began blooming and making me sneeze with their pollen. We went from 76F/24C to 48F/9C in a couple hours yesterday; tomorrow will be 70F/21C and snow may come on Friday.
That same big cold front that dropped our temperature yesterday brought tornadoes to northern Iowa and southeast Wisconsin; at least one is a confirmed EF-3. (Tornadoes and hail were originally in our forecast, but the front moved through so fast that the proper conditions didn't come together in time here).
