I'm working in a town in northeast England at present, and today I found a cafe called Chapter 17. That doesn't sound very exciting, until you notice the White Stag on the roof!! (A life-sized model, as far as I could see)
I checked the final chapter of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Yes, it's chapter 17, and it's called The Hunting Of The White Stag.
Wow!
[I tried to upload a photo, but it's too large. Will try another one tomorrow. ]
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
That's really interesting! Did you go inside? I would expect a cafe with its name and outside decorations relating a little bit to Narnia would probably be decorated with somewhat Narnia related things on the inside, right?
@notswanwhite no, but I plan to visit as soon as I can. Maybe I can ask them about their love of Narnia !

I am sure the pub is related to Narnia!
I made a series of posts about the White Stag and its symbolism in both Narnia and the real world, here.
There's also a herd of white deer living on a former army base in upstate New York.
Well, their explanation was very plain, and rather disappointing. Their previous cafe was in another town, in Chapter Street, at number 16. When they moved to this town, they decided to call it Chapter 17 (it was the next chapter in their life).
What do YOU think?

That said, @coracle and I had a very nice mini-moot of NarniaWebbers (just the two of us) at Chapter 17 earlier today — it was a little disappointing to hear the owner’s non-Narnian explanation for the name, but the name "Chapter 17" and the White Stag together are such a remarkable coincidence that we decided it must be Aslan's doing after all, and the owners just don't realise it.
(The chips were pretty good too. I mean chips in the UK / NZ / Australian sense — they're much thicker and tastier than French fries. I think the American term for them may be "steak fries".)
It was also a coincidence (or was it? ) that I happened to be in Yorkshire, and within reach of where Coracle is currently staying, just when she had a day off and so did I! We also had a drive out to the town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea for a ride on the Victorian-era cliff tramway and a walk along the seafront. I will definitely have to explore that stretch of coastline further (I live a couple of hours' drive away, over the other side of Northern England).
Many thanks to my NarniaWeb buddy for a lovely day out!
"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed."
