Nightmare, are you specifically interested in literary analyses of the Narnia books that take a negative view of them, or would you also be interested in ones that aren't uncritical but are positive? Because I started a topic a long time ago about a couple such books that I enjoyed and other Narniawebbers mentioned ones that they enjoyed.

I don't remember the title, but I do remember Colin Manlove also wrote a book about Narnia that I found interesting (though neither I nor anyone else got around to mentioning it in that thread.) Maybe you'd like to check that one out too.
For better or worse-for who knows what may unfold from a chrysalis?-hope was left behind.

Thanks, @col-klink — I had a feeling we already had a discussion about Narnia commentaries, but I couldn't remember where it was.
Even so, if this is @nightmare 's first-ever reading of all the Chronicles, then as I already said, I'd much more recommend reading them on their own the first time and getting to know them for yourself — leaving it till afterwards to dig into other people's opinions of them (positive or negative). I'd say that for any other books, too, not just Narnia. (Not least because most commentaries contain plenty of spoilers for things that happen later in the story!!)
"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed."
