I wondered about this a lot. When Edmund came to Narnia for the first time, and the White Witch saw him, I assumed she would be surprised that Edmund (son of Adam) was a mere child. Of course in the books it never really explained what she thought or if she was surprised to see Edmund was a kid. She may have been thinking it would be easier to trick a kid but I wonder if she would have other plans if she thought he was an adult. Also when Peter is in the battle, she could've been just as surprised to see a child leading a battle, let alone inexperienced. If she assumed they were children all along, that was a good guess. It was just something I was pondering about. Tell me what you think!
"But even a traitor may mend. I have known one that did." - (King Edmund the Just, Horse and his Boy)
I've also wondered how she would react to an adult... I'm guessing she would have been more subtle in her trickery, perhaps taking advantage of her immense physical beauty to make the victim more vulnerable.
Though looking at the book, it doesn't immediately occur to her that Edmund is one of the Four Monarchs until he mentions how many siblings he has. She probably was not expecting them to be children.
