Hey wild rose,

I loved your whimsical portrayal of the marsh-wiggles. The contrasting viewpoints held by this catagory of beings make the poem that much more entertaining.

Bravo!

I wrote this next poem on the anniversary of my great grandmamma's death, and I should like to dedicate the poem to her. It's about how even though the ones we love may gone from us now, does not mean they are gone from us forever
It is a poem about King Caspian, who is still getting over the death of his dear wife

In the Spring

The roses have bloomed in the garden
As they have done every spring
Yet this year they seem different
For you are not here with me

The garden is in full blossom
The flowers have opened to the sun
Yet it all seems empty and forgotten
Now that you have gone

It almost seems unfair
That everything has come alive
Spring is all around me
Yet I feel winter deep inside

I walk out into the garden
I know in the castle I mustn't stay
I should not entertain thoughts of grief
I must try and make them go away

I glance at rose bush
Covered with roses red
And as I glance at it
Something within my heart said

"Why grieve you in your soul
Why do you morn and weep
For you know she is not there
You know she does not sleep"

"She has gone to the land
Where the sun will never set
Where the flowers always bloom
Where the air is always fresh"

"She dances upon the meadows
She sings along with the wind
She is happy in this land
That she must now live in"

"Yet she is still with you
You can feel her wherever you go
Look around, she is everywhere
She always will be near you know"

"You can hear her voice
Singing in the summer rain
You can see her as she dances
Upon the lonely moonlight plain"

"You can see her face in every flower
You can feel her touch in the wind
Though she has gone away
You still have her memory deep within

"So do not groan inside you soul
Wipe you eyes, do not weep
For one day the time will come
When once again you will meet"

"The day will come, when you will journey
To the land, where she abides
And you will take her lovely face
And walk together side by side"

"Once in that land you never will
Be parted from each other
You will live in Aslan's country
And forever be with one another"

"But until that day will come
Lift your face to the gentle breeze
Understand, she is still with you
You can feel her presence in the spring"

always be humble and kind

This was a very deep and heartfelt poem. Loss is always a difficult emotion to deal with. I can read in your words the love you have for your grandmother even though the poem was about Caspian. I will keep your grandmother in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

This poem is a bit sad, it's from Jill's viewpoint, as she travels with Eustace and Puddleglum in search of the Ruined City of Giants (or however it was called) she's is cold and tired and is beginning to neglet the repeating of the Signs

Will the Journey End
Snow and cold, cold and snow
The ground is frozen through
The grass is withered, the trees are bare
The sky is grey not blue

Grey, grey the landscape is
Dotted a bit with specks of white
One can not help but wonder
What made the colors hide from sight

Forever, it seems we've journeyed
It has no beginning, it has no end
Just when you think the road has finished
Ony to find the end, was but a bend

Forward, onward we must go
Forward, though not sure where
For pray, how can we know
When we have never ever been there

Will this journey ever end?
Will we return back home
Will we find whom we seek
Or are we destined forever to roam

Night has fallen all around
It's blanket thick as ever
We must camp here for the night
Despite the cold and biting weather

I lay down on the ground
Trying to forget the ache and wind
Those signs I must repeat
But to forget them I begin

I must say them tonight
For I forgot to yesterday
And the day before that too
And I think for many days

Though my mind is cold and numb
And all I want to do is sleep
Tonight I will force myself
One by one the signs to repeat

I hope I don't forget tomorrow
I hope out journey will end soon
I hope tomorrow we will be warm
And I can sleep in a cozy room

I close my eyes and try to block
The wind, the rain, the snow
I slowly drift off to sleep
And forget to repeat the signs once more

always be humble and kind

Hey wild_rose,

The melancholy tone of this poem reminds me of the long winter that refuses to surrender itself to the spring. The disillusion in Jill Pole's words strike a chord of dispair. Very well written and its meaning is clearly understood.

Poem about the castle and city of Narnia, Cair Paravel

Cair Paravel
Standing a top the mountain
Glistening in the setting sun
Shining as a prescious gem
Of the Narnian Kingdom

Cair Paravel, capital of Narnia
City of the four thrones
Wisdom, bravery and honor
Carved into every stone

Built you were by finest craftsmen
Set with all the fairest jewels
You reflect the power and wonder
Of the magic by which Narnia is ruled

You have seen many battles
You have fought many wars
The blood of so many soldiers
Upon you steps was poured

You housed many great kings
You fell into enemy rule
You knew monarchs, generous and kind
And evil, and horrid and cruel

Through the pages of Narnia
You shine time and again
Yet you know that someday
Your glory will come to an end

You were built of stone and sand
These things do not last forever
And the time will come when not much
Will remain of you beauty and splendor

The things built by man
Will one day ruin and crumble
What was once a shining jewel
Will be but dust and rubble

Yet on the pages of history
You will be remembered
And in the hearts of all the lives
Which in your walls were sheltered

For that is your true purpose
Not to show off in glowing pride
But to give security and protection
To the prescious lives inside

So stand Cair Paravel
Stand to protect, to gaurd
The lives of the Narnians
Who to Aslan most prescious are

Standing a top the mountain
Glistening in the setting sun
A fortress to all the brave and true
Of the Narnian Kingdom

Loyalty, faith and freedom
Carved into every stone
In Cair Paravel, capital of Narnia
City of the four thrones

always be humble and kind

Hey wild rose,

The nobility in your words as you described Cair Paravel was spoken like a true Narnian. I liked how you mentioned how Loyalty, faith and freedom was carved into every stone. It is true that all man has made will one day be returned to the dust, but the memory of Cair Paravel will live in our hearts forever.

Bravo!

This poem is about a morning in the cold long winter that lasted in Narnia for 100 years during the reign of the White Witch

Winter Morn
Dawn in winter, pale morn
Slowly the sun begins to rise
But the forests still are held
By the shadows of the night

Lighter becomes the winter sky
As higher the sun will climb
Winter sun, unfriendly sun
Neither warm, nor glad nor kind

Gradually snow begins to glisten
As the sun's light it catches
Contrasting sharply with the blue
That remains in shady patches

Icy wind blows all around
Coldness of the night gives way
With the rising of the sun
To the coldness of the day

Morning slowly, slowly dawns
Icy, fierce, cold and cruel
Reflecting with frost and chill
The White Witch's evil rule

always be humble and kind

Hey wild rose,

I can vision a cold and desolate forest crying for its creator to release it from its frozen bondage of isolation. Another brilliant poem from a very gifted writer. Great job.

Here's a poem I wrote about the mermaids that live in the Narnian waters

A Poem of the Mermaids
Off the coast of Narnia
Deep, deep under the sea
Live the dancing mermaids
Happy, wild and carefree

Below the water is their kingdom
Where the joyfully abide
Greeting ships that sail off
With the rising of the tide

With their melodic voices
Songs of praises they sing
To their creator, the lion Aslan
Highest of all high kings

When the sun begins to set
And the moon rises in the sky
They sing the ocean to sleep
With a gentle lulluby

When the sun returns
And the day begins to dawn
They sing to wake the ocean
They sing the morning song

With a splash of their tales
To the shore they swim
And greet all the early birds
Who rose to watch the day begin

If you wish to see them
Very early you must rise
For they return back to the sea
Right after sunrise

Sleepy heads will always miss them
For they sleep far too long
When the moring is long done
And the mermaids are long gone

They come to the shore only once
When the days is just beginning
And when the sun is up
Back to the deep sea they are swimming

So if you want to see the mermaids
My advice you'd better heed
Don't sleep late, rise up early
You'll see them waving from the sea

always be humble and kind

This poem is a prayer king Peter prays before he goes to fight Miraz (inspired by the book Prince Caspian)

Prayer of King Peter
Today I face a fearsome foe
One who is much older than I
And I cannot push away
The fear that I may die

For Narnia I go off to fight
Her freedom I do defend
For her loyal, valiant subjects
I will fight to the very end

To You Aslan I do pray
Help me through this fight
Help me to be brave
And not give in to fright

Guide my hand, guide my sword
Help me hold my shield
Give me strength as I go
Out into the battlefield

I know You are my only hope
So in You I put my faith
You will give me courage
And help me not to be afraid

I grasp my sword, I take my shield
Soon I will face my foe
I have said this prayer to You
With faith to the battlefield I go

always be humble and kind

this poem is from Cor's point of view as he comes to Aravis to apologize for another argument they had, and as it turns out it is more than an apology

Proposal
Here you are in the garden
I thought that's where you'd be
It's the place you usually go
After you have fought with me

Now Aravis, don't roll your eyes
And I beg of you don't walk away
Just stay a moment and hear out
The apology I have come to say

I sorry for the disagreement we had
The fault of it is partly mine
Will your forgive this humble chap
I promise I shall be better next time

You and I are stubborn both
We've proved that time and again
Sometimes we clash and disagree
While still remaining closet friends

Our friendship had a rough beginning
You remember as well as I
You were proud and resentful
I had no upbringing of any kind

But as time went on, we got along
Nearly brother and sister have become we
But now as I look at you
I just know that's not enough for me

We are no longer children
Both myself and you have grown
And I came here to find
If I could have you for my own

Oh I know we fall out and argue
And there are times we disagree
But those are small and meaningless
Compared to the love I have for thee

I will be king in time to come
I shall rule Archenland
And how gladly the crown I'll bear
If I had but your heart and hand

What say you, my dearest friend
I'm with you here in summer's splendor
As I get down upon one knee
And ask you to be mine forever

always be humble and kind

Hey wild rose,

Your poem is as soft as the coming summer breeze that touches us in ways that awaken the imagination. Your words flow like that of a gentle stream. I can vision Cor gathering all of his courage to say these words to Aravis. Another excellent offering.
