Here is my first Narnia poem ever! It is about Lucy meeting Mr. Tumnus, in a basic one and three, two and four rhyming format (if you get what I'm trying to say ). EDIT: Oops, only some of the first and third lines rhyme, though all of the second and fourth do. Anyway, here it is (and I hope to do more soon!):
Lucy and Tumnus
In a wardrobe still and dark
Iit came alive one day
In ripeness of a child’s heart
As she went off to play
A desperate game of hide and seek
While outside rain fell down
It was a child’s only hope
To happiness from frown
A moment later she was through
And saw to her surprise
A winter day with snow anew
Still falling ‘fore her eyes
“I must explore this place” she thought
And stepped on virgin snow
As winter’s chilling wind still fought
A lamppost’s distant glow
She stepped up closer to it now
A lamppost yet a tree
And as she though the “why” and “how”
She thought she heard something
A faun appeared from ‘midst the trees
And set her heart to pound
But when he saw her, he screamed too
And turned himself around
“Hullo,” she said, coming towards him
“I’m just a little girl.”
“I thought you were a dwarf.” he said
With horns beneath his curls
“But what are you?” she asked him now.
“I’ve never seen your kind.”
“You haven’t? Well, then I suppose
You’ve never been refined.”
“You see,” said she, as closer still
Her little feet did trod
“Where I come from, I am normal
And all your type is odd.”
“We mustn’t go on anymore.”
Said he , then glanced around
As though throughout the forest floor
All horrors could be found.
“I have a home which you will like
And plenty of good food.”
“Oh, I’m not sure.” The child said
“I’m not sure if I should.”
“Do come.” said he, and bent his knee
“A new friends we shall find.”
“Alright said she, begrudgingly
“And you are very kind.”
In his house he made her tea
And eggs and toast they ate
And when all through with that they were
They set down cup and plate
“Now I,” said he, suspiciously
“Will play you a sweet song.”
“Alright, if it is short.” said she
“Though I cannot stay long.”
He played a piece as the clocked ticked
Hours and hours by
And at last to the girl it clicked
The day’d be over nigh.
“I must go!” cried she, abit upset
“I should have left long ago.
To leave you I do regret,
But do please let me go.”
“I can’t” said it, “I’d like to, though.”
Then it began to cry
’Till puddles formed upon the floor
And Lucy thought “Oh my!”
So sad was it, awhile it took
For her to understand;
Twas crying, for it was a crook
Though not by common brand
“What I am stealing,” it declared,
its voice rather wild
Will make you want to shed tears too.
“For I’m stealing a child.”
“You cannot mean,” she paused to say
“That you are stealing me?”
And then no longer did she stay,
But turned around to flee.
“I didn’t want to.” said the faun
“The witch said that I must.
And if I don’t her wand she shall
At me purposely thrust.”
“Oh, why?” the child paused to ask
Though frightened she sure was
“I’ll tell you all the whys” said he
“And this is why: because
She said she would cut off my tail
And turn me into stone.”
“Oh no!” the child then did wail
And they began to run
He got her safely to the light
And then he left her there
And, wondering if she was right,
She left him in despair
But first gave something to the faun;
He smiled with relief
For as she danced across the lawn,
He held her handkerchief
And as she flew back to her place
The one she called Spare Oom
She hoped that some how, by some grace
She’d see him again soon

Dear Lucy,
I must say that I am very impressed with this poem. The rhyme scheme fits both Tumnus and Lucy perfectly. You have great potential as a poetry writer and I strongly encourage you to continue with your efforts.
Excellent start to what I hope will be a very inspiring poetry thread.
Bravo!

EDIT: Here's another one!
Edmund and the Witch
Into the cold he did walk,
Bitter feelings in his heart
As he looked for his sister
Many apologies to impart
“Where is that girl?” he asked himself
Full of bitter envy
Just then in a fancy sleigh
Halted his worst enemy
“Oh Edmund, dear”
She said to him, a smile on her lips
“Please come sit down and we will talk
I want you as my Prince.”
He sat down then and drank his fill
Then she gave him some sweets
After magic Turkish Delight
You despise all other treats
“Now tell me of yourself” she said
Her face so beautiful
And to her Edmund blabbed all
He felt so warm and full
“There’s four of you?” she asked again
And he said “Yes, indeed”
The Witch plotted behind his back
“This is not what I need!”
“Now Edmund, dear” she said sweetly
“Bring them to visit me.
But do not tell them ‘till you’re here
Who you expect to see
“Some naughty fauns tell wild tales
That make me out to be
Something that I am not, of course;
The others might just flee.”
“I won’t tell them” said Edmund now
Near her he felt no fright
“But if I could, I’d like to have
One last Turkish delight.”
“You silly boy, come back again
And you will be stuffed full
When you are a my own son, my Prince
Together we shall rule
Peter, Susan and Lucy too
Will serve us all our days
And if they displease us at all
We’ll put them in their place
“For now, do hurry back, dear boy
I’ll see you again soon?”
“Goodbye” said he, turning to leave
That snowy afternoon
When he got home he shut his mouth
And told them of it not
And poor Lucy started to cry
Her cheeks bitterly hot
“It’s just a silly child’s play
It means nothing to me.”
And I’ll admit, though I’m ashamed
This all filled Ed with glee
For many days he'd teased the child
Without a moments rest
What happened later we shall see;
He soon will pass his test
For Edmund will be brave and just
And aid the Narnians
As he fights against the Witch
And Aslan atones sins
For in the end all will be right
And Edmund will be King
But not for wrong; instead for right
And to Aslan he’ll cling.

Thanks for everything!

*edit* 1/10/11
Well last night I wrote a Eustace poem! Go Eustace!
The Story of Eustace or Miraculous Voyage
There was a boy who had a name
T’was Eustace Clearance Scrubb
And every person thought the same
That he, no one could love
He called his parents by their names
And showed them no respect
They let him do it, all the same
So what could they expect?
They wore special underclothes
And kept the windows up
And every night, as was supposed
On vegetables they supped
The boy liked dead critters
Like beetles pinned to cards
And though he never littered
He tramped through neighbors’ yards
Eustace’s cousins come to stay
And he plotted mean things
Ought ne’er to be done to relatives
Not even in bad dreams
He mocked them for what he surmised
Was nothing more than play
But he would find to his surprise
That it wasn’t that way
There was a picture of a ship
Hanging in Lucy’s room
And suddenly the took a trip
Much to Eustace’s doom
The painting spilled over with water
That soon covered the floor
Then everywhere that Eustace looked
Was different than before
They had come into his cousins’ land
It wasn’t just a game
And as you will soon understand
Eustace was ne’er the same
They sailed across the sea
To visit distant lands
They walked across the grassy paths
And across moonlit sands
There was a mouse names Reepicheep
Who always stood for right
And every time he made a peep
He called them all to fight
Eustace was a wicked boy
But changed quite suddenly
When after slipping off one day
He saw something worth seeing
Gold piled all up in a cave
More than he’d ever seen
And suddenly he then became
A very horrid thing
He woke up as a dragon
And was fooled for a minute
But then he saw the water’s flow
And his dragon face in it
It was a horror he endured
For quite a few long days
And during it that noble mouse
Was sunshine’s only rays
At last as Eustace tried to sleep
Before his dragon eye
A majestic Lion appeared
To stop him from his cry
“Come with me” He told the boy
Without saying a thing
And Eustace followed him right then
Forsaking everything
Aslan led him to a pool
And told him then to bathe
“But you must shed your scales first”
So Eustace did behave
Only the scales stuck fast and hard
No matter how he scratched
And in Aslan he put his trust
And laid down on his back
Aslan peeled him slim and smooth
Until he was a boy
Then threw him in the water
Where he splashed around in joy
Eustace told the others
Which was quite hard to do
But Edmund told him not to sweat
When his tale was through
“I was like that on my first time
Only I was still worse
I fell under a witch’s spell
And Narnia I cursed.”
“I’d rather not discuss it.”
His cousin Eustace said
“For I am now a boy once more;
The dragon-me is dead.”
Then they had found all seven lords
Which was their complete plan
And all too soon it was the time
For Reepicheep’s last stand
He sailed in his coracle
Over a waterfall
After he had said goodbye
He followed Aslan’s call
Then the children sailed out
And saw a snow-white lamb
Then as they saw Aslan come forth
They very quickly ran
“Dear Lucy” said the Lion
“In me you do believe
And now for you three children
It’s time to make your leave
“Dear Aslan” Lucy cried,
Tears falling down her face
“It is you we love so dear;
It i s not just this place.”
“I know, my love” the Lion said
“But in your world you’ll see
I am with you, but my name there
Is pronounced differently.”
The three of them soon found themselves
In Lucy’s bedroom
But Eustace Clearance Scrubb now sung
A rather different tune
“Those children ruined him,
My precious Eustace Clearance.
They should not have come to stay
And be such interference.”
In the end Eustace returned
And helped that land again
But in the meantime they all were
The very best of friends
And Eustace now did serve Aslan
And bear witness of His name
And if you are the smart enough
You ought to do the same

I wrote this poem 1/10/11 (later that night) And I also started a Eustace and Jill poem that night which is not yet finished, but keep an eye out.
I think I may have surprised myself with this one, although I seem to have avoided what I considered Windsong's 'fatal flaw'.
Silver Stars and Moonlight
Silver stars and moonlight
Dancing on the sand
Staring at the ocean
In this pleasant land
Beautiful bright sunsets
Yellow peach and gold
As we watch together
Come memories of old
You, the daughter of a star
And I a brand new King
As I watch your face
I see many new things
Your hair is just like golden wheat
Blowing in the breeze
As I study your bright eyes
My heart seems to freeze
Your beautiful pale face
Though under sun you live
You like as if you yourself
The very light doth give
Long, golden curls
Wrap around your cheek
As that part of you turns red
I find the words to speak
“Dearest Lilliandil
I want you to know:
I wish I could stay right here
And never have to go.”
“I know that you cannot,” said she
“We’d better say goodbye.”
“I will come back soon.” I said
“My darling, do not cry.”
As the tears slip down her face
I study her once more
And once again see in her eyes
A beauty ever more
“I had better go now
But before I leave such bliss…
Oh my darling, do let me
Your rosy lips to kiss.”
“In that you are mistaken.”
Said she with a smile
“You must break the enchantment first
And that might take a while.”
So he drew it in his head
A picture of her there
With the waves lapping the beach
The wind blowing her hair
At last he pulled himself away
And returned to his crew
Though in that very moment
T’was the hardest thing to do
He knew he would see her someday
Though when he knew not
And memories and hopes and dreams
Of her filled all his thoughts
In the end he did return
To wipe away her tears
And then they married straight away
And reigned for years and years
And lest it be thought otherwise
They loved with all their heart
And now from this sweet lovers’ tale
We must instantly part

Hey Lucy,
There is nothing I love better than a good old fashioned romantic Narnia poem. I really enjoyed the verbage and metaphors used in this offering.
Another excellent example of your talent as a poetry writer.
Wonderful effort!

Don't know how good this one is but I had finished it and I'll throw it up here for what it's worth.
Eustace and Jill Pole
Jill Pole attended Eustace’s school
Though they were hardly friends
He sided with the mean ones
And she was bullied to no end
One day after the holidays
A dirty day and grim
Jill Pole ran out to have a cry
Behind the old school gym
When Eustace found her sitting there
He knew not what to say
That would not make Jill flare up
Or perhaps run away
He told her about Narnia
And ‘bout his cousins’ trip
How they sailed straight to the worlds’ end
On one very small ship
At first Jill did believe him
Then suddenly she said
“Eustace if I find you’re lying
I shall box your head!”
He assured her he wasn’t,
That ever word was true
Then Jill believed him once again
Though new not what to do
“It doesn’t do us any good,
For we’re not there we’re here.
I wonder if there’s any way
That we could travel there.”
“We ought to ask Aslan.”
Eustace said to Jill
Suddenly the bullies chased them;
Thy ran up the hill
Suddenly, the door had opened
Into Aslan’s land
And both of them went running through
Though they did not understand
Now this next part’s hard to take
We need to hear it, though
Eustace fell off of the cliff
After Jill cried “Let go!”
He was only trying to help her
To avoid a nasty fall
And suddenly he himself fell
And desperate was his call
Then poor Jill began to sob;
Guilt heavy on her mind
Though in the end as you shall see
Eustace turned out just fine
When she stopped crying she found that
Some water she would like
So through all the unknown woods
She began on her hike
When she found water, cool and sweet
Flowing over soft ground
She realized, as she looked up
The Lion she had found
She had to trust in Him and drink
The water that quenches thirst
Though until she had learned the truth
She tried other routes first
They got to Narnia
And met much hardship there
But there would be no splitting up
Of this close friendship pair
In the end they succeeded
And after their last stand
Eustace fought for Jill’s safety
When they reached upper land
In the end they turned out friends
That doesn’t stop me, though
To say that Eustace was quite brave
As he fought for Jill Pole
They returned to England
And better days had there
And no matter what did happen
Those friends remained a pair
