So last year, during NaPoWriMo, one of the prompts where;
Go to a book you love. Find a short line that strikes you. Make that line the title of your poem. Write a poem inspired by the line. Then, after you’ve finished, change the title completely.
And at that prompt, I quickly grabbed The Magician's Nephew and saw the line "a blue that was almost black" and based my poem on that line! I still haven't given it a proper title, but here it is--
Eeerie, empty
Not a star in sight
But a single red light
Dim, fading
Flickering, dying
Faintly daylight
Quiet without peace
Breezy without mercy
Everything faded
A faint illumination
From an empty sky
A sky that was once blue
Almost as dark as the night
Sunless era and climax
There is a lovely eeriness to this, Kokoro! "Quiet without peace" particularly struck me.
