By the way, I just checked on a screencap I have, and it indeed most definitely is Eustace's sweater vest... I wonder why Caspian carries it, and I hope we'll see a scene between him and Edmund with some friendship patching up, and in which Caspian takes the vest for some mysterious reason... maybe they found it along the way, picked it up and headed along the trail? I definitely hope for a deleted scene!

and he indeed does have it in his hand before and after the part when they find the burnt clothes weird

Eustace wasn't wearing his vest when he fell down the cliff. He must have taken it off when he was walking around the island. It wouldn't have been burnt with his other clothes.

Maybe Caspian can turn into a bloodhound and is using the sweater to track Eustace?

It's probably just an error, if he's holding it before they find his clothes. They probably meant for him to find him at the place of his dragoning.

I agree with you Libby! Edmund must have handed it to Caspian at some point. but yes that is Eustace's vest.

I don't think there is any errors about Eustace's vest, but there must be some deleted scenes.

I know ...

Scene A: Eustace was wearing the vest when he left the beach.

Scene B: Eustace was not wear the vest when he was walking around and found the treasures.

Scene C: Caspian hold the vest before Edmund and he found Eustace's burnt clothes.

So, I guess there must be ...

Scene D: Between the scene A and B.
I think, Eustace felt hot and took off his vest at somewhere on the way.

Scene E: Before the scene C.
I think the vest was a hint. Maybe Edmund and Caspian found it at around a fork in the trail, then they could choose which way to go.

At first, I thoght it was an error that Eustace didn't wear the vest.
But when I realised Caspian hold it, it looks better for me.

I think it is difficult to find where Eustace was going, if there were so many ways to go.
Or weirdly there must be only two trails on the island, the way to the magic pool and the way to the treasures.

^ Yeah that was something that popped in my head when first watching the film was how Caspian and Edmund knew where to look so yeah finding the vest obviously helped them find Eustace's trail.

I wonder if there will be a director's cut and if more of this scene will show up.....
