^Actually the Kraken, in real life and myth, is depicted as a giant squid, not a pliesiosaurid, but again I'm getting into cryptozoology and off topic (I seriously reccommend Cryptozoology: A to Z by Lauren Coleman if anyone is interestind in cryptid sightings- it's very informative :) )

I always liked the tiny colored picture of the Sea Serpent on the map in the back of the Harper Collins edition of the Chronicles. It's purple with green spots, and reading the book, that's what I always pictured.

For some reason I had always pictured it looking like a giant sea horse with a serpent body. ;)) But again, monster design is not a big worry of mine. Complaining about the sea serpent not looking exactly like the book's description is akin to complaining about Lucy not having blonde hair.

I actually like the new Sea Serpant. The dragon not so much, but the serpant looks pretty good to me. It might even scare a few people (I just might be one of those people.)

Well in the new trailer its revealed that the Sea Serpant has a hood, sort of like a Cobra.

I agree. Dragon = Medicore (but nothing that will ruin the movie, I am still dying to see it) and Sea Serpant = cool and kinda Creepy

I watched the clip that someone posted from the old BBC Voyage of the Dawn Treader. As a kid I LOVED them but I had forgotten how low quality they were.
I also really disliked their casting of Caspian both young and old....but mostly as an adult.

I think the Walden sea serpent was a bit more intense than it should have been. That was no stupid creature! I always found that scene a bit comical about it all; with the outcome, with Reepicheep saying not to fight, with Eustace breaking the sword...

Rewatched the sea serpent bit in the BBC version and I find the sea serpent there more believably defeated by pushing than by the overblown, over CGI'd Walden sea serpent. But that has to do with my overall "meh" opinion to the movie changes. I guess I prefer my sea serpents to be more subtle and classic looking in form...plus I don't think Edmund conjured it up in the book by his fear as they mixed the Dark Island stuff of the book with the sea serpent attack for the movie. /:) The film implies it's Edmund's fault the sea serpent comes into existence. I don't believe that a serpent that big could be defeated by a mere number of five or six men pushing it off and rmming it up against a rock. In my opinion, it would have taken a lot more than that to kill the serpent (ie. Edmund stabbing it with his sword)
With Edmund being responsible to the serpent's existence, I didn't care at all because it didn't change Ed's character or anything. But this is all in my opinion.
