What do you think of the videos which have clips from the Walden films and sometimes from the BBC series? The videos use music from other sources to accompany them. The music may have little or nothing to do with the scenes that are being used. I can’t say that I always dislike them, although some people might see them as tampering with someone else’s work, and they may be right.

Apperently it is legal to do this and the person running the YouTube channel must have obtained permission to use the movie clips. Some of the music is rather enjoyable. I have to admit I kind of like these videos. 🙂

@narnian78 I very much doubt that fan videos would have permission to use copyright material from movies (the books, no) - they have just not bothered. Unfortunately there is plenty of material on youtube that belongs to someone other than the person posting it.

Do you dislike them? I could understand it if you would. Of course we don’t know for sure if permission was obtained or not. If something inappropriate was done the videos would probably have much worse content. They actually don’t seem all that bad to me. I don’t think much money was made from them if any at all.

No, I don't bother to dislike them, really, just seeing them as childish attempts. There are elements in them that I may not like, or may roll my eyes at. I am however bored with people creating trailers for Narnia 4 with child actors who have long been adults, and will definitely not be playing Jill and Eustace in SC - or Lucy, who isn't even in SC!!

I like watching them occasionally. Although, like Coracle said, it's not technically legal. It's more in a gray area, because it's ultimately harmless and if the company did something about it it would ruin the goodwill people have with it.
I'm more of a fan of AMV's, sometimes those can be really good!
