Okay, I didn't vote on this because I think that if the movie is really good, which is what I hope for, there would be no possible way for it to have bad revenue.
If only that were true! But I'm afraid it's not. "Transformers 2" was the highest grossing film of the year, and both critics and audiences HATED it. The quality of the film does not necessarily indicate how successful it will be.
As visual effects have improved over the past decade, I've heard many directors say again and again "Visual effects won't cut it. People still want good stories and characters." It's almost become a cliche. But movies like Transformers 2 have proved those directors wrong. Throw a bunch of VFX at the screen, and put out a cool trailer, and you've got a hit. Sad, but true.
I was going to say the same thing...anyone heard of Joss Whedon? BRILLIANT guy...he does mostly TV shows because no big budget companies want to hire him, I guess. One of his shows, Firefly, was brilliant...amazing characters, good effects, hilarious lines, action, it was brilliant, and the fans loved it, but Fox cancelled it after 14 shows. Luckily, they made a movie, Serenity, to finish things off properly, and the movie was one of the best movies I've ever seen, but it did TERRIBLY at the box office.
So, in the end, I'd rather have VDT be an amazing movie like Serenity and die at the box office than have a whole series of Transformers that make lots of money. Lots of money benefits the companies, but not us. Good movies are what benefit us.
Still...I'm holding out for a good movie AND a good revenue. It is possible. ^_^

Joss Whedon made Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I really like that show. I wasn't aware he created Firefly which i haven't seen, but have heard people talk about.
I think that, at this point, i just don't believe it will be a good film. I am very forgiving of changes, but i just don't think PC was a good film.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
I am getting good vibes for VDT and think it will be both a good film and a big box office hit. It does have the potential for both and I also think it can be the best Narnia film so far.
I did not vote in this poll.
