I've seen it twice, and would love to see it again!

'Tis a social event.
First time - a special pre-screening in my city with NarniaWebber Ryadian; we met Meltintalle at the cinema
Second time - at the Chicago Lion Party hosted by Gymfan. We enjoyed meeting several NarniaWebbers for the first time!
Third time - 'dinner and a movie' with a former co-worker and his wife
Fourth time - one last time before it left the $5 theater
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
7 times, a heroic sacrifice on my behalf, considering I can only see in my theatres what is possibly one of the worst dubbing versions of Narnia available.
I can't wait for the DVD and glorious original voices!
I've seen the movie 9 times!!! (PC)
I've seen the movie 7 times!!! (VoDT) And loved it!

I watched it once with my six-year old son in 3D on opening weekend and once with my wife (who had seen it previously in 3D with her sister) in 2D a few weeks later. The 3D theater was maybe half full, and the 2D theater was packed (we had to sit up at the front). I enjoyed it more the second time. I'm looking forward to the DVD.
How can you say 'stick to the books' if you haven't even seen the movie? Don't take people's word for it. They could be telling the truth, but they could also be lying. To make it more complicated, you may enjoy what other people did not. Think about it.

I agree! I have seen VDT nine times by now, I really want to support it.
It's good. Perhaps not perfect, but still good. And much better than a lot of stuff out there, which my pupils watch!!
It's a good idea to film several times, if you know the book well. There are some changes, and I had to get used to them also! So I can really recommend everyone, who hasn't seen it, to give the film a chance. I'm glad I did!!
Sorry, I kind of dropped that one all of a sudden. Here is my defense.
"Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is wellpleasing unto the Lord."
Colossians 2:20
My parents have drawn the theater going line at the IMAX theater at our state museum, which didn't get VDT. We're definitely going to buy the DVD as soon as we can though.
It's actually pretty hard knowing I'm one of the only U.S. Narniawebers (I think there are other countries that are still waiting) who hasn't been able to see the movie yet.
I have seen several clips and most of the trailers, and it is quite obvious where they have changed things. "Stick to the books" refers to movies I have seen, movies not yet made, and movies other than Narnia.
Oh My! there is STILL a first run theater here in nearby San Antonio TX where Dawn Treader is still holding on to dear life with two screens (one in 2D and one in 3D)! I think its this theater that is keeping Dawn Treader from entering discount theaters here in San Antonio...which is strange.. TRON: Legacy and Gullivers Travels have already entered discount theaters here, and Narnia came out before those movies.

Corazon,
I just realized that you live in New Braunfels. I'm just up the road in San Marcos.
It was at our discount theater for two weeks, and I got a chance to see it twice, bringing my total to 5. It's already at a discount theater in the Austin area (Round Rock, though). I saw that New Braunfels built a new theater. Is there room for two theaters there, or do you think that there's a chance they might turn the old one into a discount theater?

wow, your only like 15 minutes away what are the odds!
Anyways, its crazy that I drove 45 minutes out to San Antonio to watch VDT at Regal Fiesta Theaters since it was the only first run theater that still had VDT.. I should have just drive to San Marcos hehe. The last time I watched VDT here in New Braunfels it was awful (the experience, not the movie). There was a big green line on the screen throughout the whole movie and the theater manager was turning people away from watching VDT because of that big line on the screen. They must have one theater reel for the movie. Anyways, had all those people not been turned away, then VDT might have made $140 million here in the US.... ok not really but VDT needs all the $$ it can get.
Don't know if New Braunfels can support two full sized theaters, but every weekend when I drive by Marketplace Cinema 12 it looks full. And obviously Creekside Cinemas 14 is full too, but my guess is that eventually Cinema 12 will be a discount theater. There is a big difference in facilities (qualitywise - broken seats, sticky floors, old restrooms vs. the new theater's newness, stadium seating, full digital plus 3D) and the ticket prices are the same at both theaters.
Even though San Marcos has lost VDT from its discount theater, we actually havent seen VDT fully hit discount theaters nationwide. Watch its theater count increase slightly either this week or next. Then we may get another $400-500K weekend again before VDT dies off one final time in the box office.

Finally, finally, finally!
I watched VDT in JAPAN.
Today, in 2D with Japanese subtitle.
I will watch it 3 more times at least; 2D in Japanese, 3D in Japanese and 3D with Japanese subtitle.
I saw it once I went with a bunch of my friends. they never read the books so it was funny when they were like "whats going to happen!" and I knew what was coming next. I would have seen it twice with another friend but I couldn't make it.

I actually went to Marketplace yesterday, and they have actually lowered their ticket prices: $5 for evening, $3.50 for matinees. The sound was pretty bad, though.
As for VDT, it had a small drop this weekend, so I'm guessing that it's made its way into more discount theaters. Looks like it's still in a first-run theater in San Antonio, though, and hasn't reached the large discount theater there.
I saw it for the first time last Wednesday. And that's probably it. I rarely go to the theater. I've seen maybe 5-6 movies in theaters, each just one time. At least I finally saw Dawn Treader!
My movie review is on Aslan's Country. A revised version is on my blog.
