^^ and I think that Rapunzel is going to get a WAY different audience than VotDT! but it is rather silly to put it near Harry Potter! it won't stand a chance!

Well, the Chronicles of Narnia were written before most of us were born, yet teens and kids still want to see it. Besides, Narnia does well and has amazing talented, for the most part wholesome people in it. When I say wholesome I mean they don't get drunk or sleep around or do drugs or are not really known for it. Hopefully, we cna get a better turnout.

Last I heard, there's a bit of scrambling going on around Rapunzel as they try and make it more "marketable". I heard that they might change the name, because princesses just aren't cool anymore! *shrugs* Anyway...
As far as everything else goes, one thing I have learned is that you should never, ever underestimate your competition. Whether it be Tron, or Rapunzel, or whatever, you should always keep a wary eye on it. In PC there were some movies that we had written off completely, but they ended up being part of the overall demise (Iron Man, anyone?).
That's very true Gymfan15. I can remember when LWW came out, it was the one that was underestimated. Nearly everyone except the people on Narniaweb thought it would get destroyed by King Kong. If anything, it ended up being the other way around.
I'm not a fan of TRON, but I'd say it is the one to watch out for this winter. I think it could very well be the next Iron Man. There's a lot of positive buzz for it right now.
Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

I feel good about VDT's release date. I think it will open strong, even bigger than PC. If the movie is as good as the book or better or even close, the competition may affect it but it will have stronger "boxoffice legs" in the long run.
Also, it will be heading into the most intense movie going period of the year (at least in the USA); Christmas and New Year's holiday. So if it is still making decent weekend amounts by then, it will get a really big boost at this time.
We think more of competition for VDT but it works both ways: VDT will also be competition for the other movies opening or still playing. It would be interesting to know how many movie fans of other films are worried about VDT and Narnia.
Just IMHO.

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
December has been a good time of year for movies.....I feel good about VotDT chances at being well known and veiwed!

Yeah, so uh.... they should have stuck with Rapunzel.
Disney Renames Rapunzel to Tangled
Right then.
Tangled? Ew. Rapunzel would have been so much better. Plus the characters sound really cliche'd. "We're having a lot of fun paring Flynn, who's seen it all, with Rapunzel, who's been locked away in a tower for 18 years," Those dynamics aren't exactly unique.
Anyways, I'm a lot less worried about "Tangled" than I was before.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum
^^agreed.
lol f_k. Disney just doesn't think sometimes, does it?
All I know is we Narniawebbers are gonna have to stick by this movie not matter how much we dislike it. We should all make a pact to see it at least 3 times so it does well in theatres
All I know is we Narniawebbers are gonna have to stick by this movie not matter how much we dislike it.
Are you sure you know that? Because I for one am not going to stand by a Narnia film just because it's a Narnia film. So far they haven't screwed things up too bad, but if they ever did I certainly wouldn't be supporting it.

Rest in Peace Old Narniaweb
(2003-2009)
^^but if this one doesn't do well they most likely won't do more Narnia movies, and I'd rather have bad Narnia movies than no Narnia movies. I want them to at least try.
"Tangled" eh? wow. couldn't they come up with anything better?
now there's even less chance of it ruining VotDT! with a name like that.....

^^yeah about the only good thing about that
Well I was worried about Harry Potter, but chances are it's run will be over by the 10th. Although one can't be too careful, Avatar was on top for 7 weeks, and although it's a bad comparison, we should be wary of movies with long runs. I'm glad VDT has that week to itself however.

Yeah Potter is what I'm worried about, but hopefully it won't affect VoDT that much...
