You cheer when a soldier selflessly gives up his life so some of his army can escape because thirteen hundred years earlier some of his race fought for the wrongs side?

Like I said you have problems

I wonder if there's any chance Tavros will kick the bucket too?

Oddly enough, there was an answer to that very question from Shane Rangi back in March, with regard to his tendency to die in most movies he appears in. See the link below for the spoiler-filled answer ;)

I could never understand why there were no Narnian creaters on the Dawn Treader.

You know, I never really thought about the lack of Narnians on the ship the first time I read it, but now that I've read I have no idea how many times I think it makes sense. Neither the Narnians nor the Telmarines have been to sea in years. There are no experienced sailors. I always assumed that at the very least Drinian and Rhince were from Galma or Terebinthia because it's just plain common sense that the captain and first mate on a voyage to unknown lands would need to be very experienced. There is even some evidence for my theory in the book because an old Galmian sailor is mentioned as being one of the crew.

As for the Minotaur: he is there to look cool. And that is why Minotaurs are on the good side in PC. Because they look cool. I don't think that's a good reason.

I too could never understand why creatures were not on the Dawn Treader. That's what made Narnia, Narnia for me. It was the creatures, which, unfortunately, the Dawn Treader in the book, lacked.

"I'm a beast I am, and a Badger what's more. We don't change. We hold on. I say great good will come of it... And we beasts remember, even if Dwarfs forget, that Narnia was never right except when a son of Adam was King." -Trufflehunter

If nothing else, they'd help scare off the enemy! 8-}

As long as the film doesn't over-emphasize the creatures, I think it's an okay addition to the film. But if they did it purely to be all, "Oh, look at how Narnian this ship is! See, we've got minotaurs and everything!" I won't like it at all.

I never really had a problem with them having creatures on the DT. Like most everybody else, the creatures represent Narnia to me. I think that's also why the movie-makers decided to include them--because they add a bit of familiarity to the general audience, who, when they think of Narnia, they think of talking animals. To only have Reepicheep would make it a little harder for the general audience to swallow. Besides, it adds a bit more humor with Eustace's first encounter with talking creatures (like when he faints). :D On the question of having a minotaur on the ship, that never really bothered me either. In fact, the idea of having good minotaurs never bothered me. I like the way Trufflehunter says it in PC, "A common enemy unites even the oldest of foes." So, why not?

I'm ok with a very creatures. That actually makes it a bit interesting. I just hope that these characters play a good role and aren't just thrown in to look good. At the same time I don't want them to have too big a role. Big enough to force the scriptwriters to make significant chanegs to the story in order to expand their role.
