Oooh, that's hard, but I will go with French Horn (our daughter played it for years) ... what a gorgeous instrument, both in its rich, mellow sound and its beautiful, intricate shape. In fact, I have always said that the musical instrument that best represents (for me) that deep joy Lewis so often wrote about—the inconsolable longing for more than the temporal—is precisely and beautifully embodied by the French Horn. ♥
