It really depends on the location. I prefer white lights primarily for decorations, but coloured lights for trees. So I'll say white lights.

Blu-Ray!! Ever since I bought a Blu-Ray player DVD's just aren't as good.

Gift bags, because they can be recycled. Last year I put my tax papers in a Christmas gift bag to leave with the tax accountant.
