Khwarazm, an area on the Amu Darya, to the south of the Aral Sea, partly in Turkmenistan, & partly in Uzbekistan, and not to be confused with another East Iranian area called Khorasan. Both places evoke the romance & mystery of the Old Silk Road of Marco Polo, from 1271 & 1295.
