Kari looked steadily at Mona. "I think you're wrong." She said to the demon. Taking her cue from Bobby, she raised her voice. "In the name of Natanel, The All, I rebuke you!"
Please help us, Natanel. Kari whispered inside of her mind.
Xerec was spattered with blood and was in a fight with two Dorugas when Mona lost control of her spell. The monsters fled and she escaped trampling only by managing to throw herself out of their path. She looked up at the demon.
"Let the music cast its spell,
give the atmosphere a chance.
Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."
The demon shrieked and threw its arms in front of its face as if to ward off a blow.
"This isn't the last you'll see of me, Dittotopians!" it screeched as it began to bob and weave in the air, struggling to stay aloft. "My master has many servants, and some day you will all die!" With a final scream, the demon fled from Mona's body. She reverted to her human form and dropped to the ground, landing in a heap with a sickening thud. The wound from Myrc's blade remained, and Mona's eyes stared lifelessly at the Dittotopians, her mouth twisted in a defiant, and unrepentant, sneer. The Terror of Lyolen was finally dead.
Myrc stepped forward and knelt next to Mona's body. He gently turned her over on her back and closed her eyes with his fingers, then stepped back and mingled with the shaken crowd.
((OOC: Zlcva,I hope I didn't force your hand there...the reference to arteries etc. was my way of giving you an out if you wanted to prolong the incident for a little while. I definitely won't attempt to hog kills -- just 'cause my character is an Assassin doesn't mean he's a perfect fighter. Anyone can feel free to knock him around as long as he stays in a somewhat stable state.))
Sylvia cautiously prodded Mona's body with her foot, half expecting the woman to leap to her feet and start blasting people again.
"Demons. Bunch of freaking drama queens," Sylvia scoffed and dissolved her wooden armor. She was a bit disappointed she hadn't had a chance to go hand to hand with anything. Cordelia and Gawain had been giving her lessons and she was anxious to try it out on something.
Dayea landed on the ground somersaulting to break her fall. She came to her feet as the roll came to an end and glanced around. A crowd of people stood near her. She stood up and glanced around. The ground was torn up and evidence of a battle was everywhere. Dayea walked over to the group, "Looks like you guys had fun; sorry I missed it."
((Hey everyone, I just started posting in Ditto Town. Dayea's character outline is in the post office on page four. It tells how she got to Dittotopia. Dayea landed in the Mansion soon after everyone walked out of the Mansion. Dayea wandered around and eventually exited a door and landed here))
((I'm glad you're looking to join us, Dayea! You coming in right now sounds just fine. Make sure you look at the rules for the game (You can find specific rules if you click the "read the story from the beginning" link on the first page) and you'll be just fine. ))
"Let the music cast its spell,
give the atmosphere a chance.
Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."
"Okay, where to now?" Dayea asked.
Xerec picked herself up from where she'd fallen on a killed monster. The battle, it seemed, was over.
But then, as the new girl had asked, what was supposed to happen now? Xerec could see in her peripheral vision that the people were beginning to poke their heads out of their cottages, and exulting shouts began to echo through the air. It seemed as though their mission was finished. So why weren't they back in the Mansion?
Kari stared at the dead demon. She'd never come face to face with such concentrated evil before. How could someone do something like that; agree to serve a completely evil being? She couldn't understand it. For now, though, she just wanted to get back to Ditto Town. Or the Mansion, at the very least.
"So." Kari's voice broke into the relative silence. (the shouts were still echoing around) "How do we find out who the Ditto is?"
This part of the game had seemed relatively simple when they'd read the rules. Now it didn't seem simple at all. She wondered how in the world they were going to find out. "Anyone want to confess?" Kari vaguely considered the idea of interrogating everyone individually.
"Let the music cast its spell,
give the atmosphere a chance.
Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."
"Well its not me" said Matthew looking around "Oh we all know it wasn't you" said Shono and knocked him upside the head "Your still the same block headed Jedi"
If you ain't first, you're last.
"I cannot tell a lie. It's me! Me! ME! ME!" Desdemona shouted and then unleashed a telekinetic shock wave that blasted outwards at the other Ditto Towners. She cackled malevolently androse into the air with her psychic powers. "So what're you going to do to stop me?"
"Mainly I think we were just planning to kill you. Swiftly and painfully," Sylvia commented while idly inspecting her fingernails for signs of breakage.
"That was, well... Dramatic..." said Shono "Now what was the point of that?" he asked. Matthew formed a force shield quickly and blocked the shock wave before drawing his lightsaber. Then he unlighted it "You know what? I'm always going first, I'm going to let some on else have turn this time"
If you ain't first, you're last.
"Why thank you, Matthew," Dayea said. In one swift movement, she pulled her bow from it's sling and put an arrow on the string. "Well, wait a minute. What's going to happen to her? If she's the ditto, where's the real Desdemona? And what will happen to the real Desdemona if we kill the fake one? Will it kill the real one too?"
Kari was leveling her blaster at Desdemona, but when Dayea spoke up she hesitated. "Um...The real Desdemona is back at the mansion- so the rules said. But I don't know if they're connected..."
Her finger was taut on the trigger, but somehow, killing fake Desdemona seemed....inhumane. Not that she was human. Kari still shirked from it. And then another thought occurred to her.
"What species is she? Isn't she a vampire? How do you kill one of those?" Kari began to look worried, as the fake Desdemona didn't seem to be lacking in the powers arena.
Xerec had no such qualms about killing. In a rapid movement, she sent both of her knives on a smooth arc toward Desdemona's head and heart.
"Let the music cast its spell,
give the atmosphere a chance.
Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."
Simon stared at the fake Desdemona in shock.
"Sweet pea, it was you? Why didn't you tell me? We could have gotten rid of these tasty humans before they got all nasty from fighting demons." He sighed as Xerec threw her knives.
"Won't work on vampires, luv," he told the Wraithe. "And the sunlight seems false. Obviously, since we didn't burst into flames as soon as we landed here." He paused. "You really don't want to make her angry. Fake Desdemona or not, she's every bit like my own sweetheart in personality. And an angry Desdemona is not someone you want to deal with. Believe me. I still have nightmares."
P.S."Brooklyn!"
Matthew looked around "Well, what the heck are we around for, we clearly have to kill her..." he said as he prepared to draw his lightsaber before he remeber about an a tiny little problem, she was a vampire "crud"
