I was thinking of having an RP set in Tolkiens' The Lord of the Rings universe, but not including his characters. Everyone could chose to be an elf, dwarf, hobbit, etc. but could not be Legolas, Gimli or Sam, or any other Tolkien characters. Would that be an acceptable RP?

I asked a mod about that very thing once, and the answer was no. Places in books, like Narnia and Middle Earth, are copyrighted and aren't allowed as RP places.

Hi, I'm double posting because I am now ready to introduce the RP I was speaking of in my last post; however, if the mods would rather me delete this post and add this to the last post, I shall do so.

Saving Tavionelia

Long ago, Tavionelia was a united country. Now it is split up into four countries: North, South, East and West, which are named: Tav, Ion, El and Ia, respectively. They refuse to cross the borders and enter the other countries and are very prejudiced against people outside of their country. Now things have gotten worse than ever; the entrances to each country are guarded heavily and children are being taught in the schools that the other countries are trying to take over. Things have escalated to the point where it is not safe to go near the boarders, and people are edging in towards the center of their countries, locking their doors at night for the first time, and being generally concerned about where their children are every moment, where before they could play in safety. Kidnapping are starting to become frequent, and ransoms are demanded for their return, but the ransom is not money, it is total surrender. Parents do not know what to do to get their children back, and the government is helpless to stop the kidnappings or retrieve the children. People live in fear of war, which eventually does come.

What should the country do? Fight until the last man is standing? Try to work together and solve everyone's problems? But how can they, when they refuse to work together?

The most unusual people are the ones who will eventually save Tavionelia from destruction.

This role-play is set to start on Tuesday, May 31st.

Yay, its officially done. However, a few things:

2. Track-back posts to fill in the gaps are highly encouraged.
3. I didn't mention one important thing that happened at the end of Crisis.

Jedi Knight and dragon rider Cameron dies defeating Legion. And with that final blow, EricNovak is officially bowing out of Ditto Town RPing for the time being. Technically, there was supposed to be a funeral, so if anyone wants to take a stab at writing it, they're more than welcome to. I'll be talking to Eric about finishing up the fight on his own, since I only knew some of his plans.

Shade of the Poplar Trees

(Sorry for the double post. I was told that if 24 hours had passed, it was alright to post again. It's been a few days. )

I've been developing the RP and working with some of my writers, and I finally have a plot outline I can release.

Plot: A family of rich young women in an 1800s England-esque estate expect to inherit their sickly father's fortune after his death. But when his will is read after his passing, it turns out that if they do not marry, all of the money will instead go to the favorite servant of the deceased father. This fact is kept secret to the servant, lest she tries to hinder the chances of the eldest girl's marriage prospects. (A task easily done if that knowledge ever becomes known to her).

At the same time, in the village lives Leah, a young woman who is studying to be a doctor (an occupation considered unfit for women of that time and town). With this disguise of a practicing doctor, she plans to do something even more scandalous - to somehow help the mistreated servants of her village.

Just popping to thank everyone for the awesome comments, and to let those participating know that the Supernova roleplay has been postponed to start later this month, probably around the 28th. Hopefully that'll give us all a little more time to plot and figure out our characters.

Thanks everyone for your support and participation. There are still many openings if anyone is interested. any character ideas are fine. I'm open to hearing anything you've got. But there are also some specific roles that need filling.

Concerning snobby sisters, we have 4. I wanted 5 in all, so there's still room for one more. We have sisters of the ages of 17, 16, 14, and the youngest is about to turn 13. So one last sister, age 15, would be best.

Right now we have 2 servants. I can work with just that, if it comes to it, but I'd always be glad of more. (The servants will be poor but not dirt poor)

Suitors. Right now, I have 3. Since there will 5 girls, I need at least 5, preferrably more. They need to be between the ages of 13 and 25.

Friends of the Dobbins. Rich people who can be any age or personality. Right now I have 2. I can work with just that, if it comes to that. But the more the merrier.

Middle-class people to be friends/enemies/co-workers with Leah. Right now I have only one of these.

Dirt poor mistreated people for Leah to help. So far, I have one of these.
