I meant to wave to you, Conina, in my previous post. Hurrah for books and book-lovers! What are you reading now?
And, on my way to my bozy ced, I'd like to give you all a houp grug.

I am a narniaweb master! wow! I always thought that my account would explode when that happened
this is crazy! I remember wondering if I'd ever reach master when I first joined narniaweb on August 22, 2008 - and now I have! insane! awesome! epic!

*settles onto a bench, sipping cinnamon-orange tea* Ahhh. We found this stuff at the grocery store last week, and it hits just the spot. Very... cinnamony-y. Makes me think of autumn. Summer is still very much here, but the sunlight has changed a wee bit and there's that hint of autumn in the air that makes me think of fuzzy jackets and hot cider and piles of leaves.
So naturally, today is the day for an autumn-colored catch-up post.
*waves to the Square Dasher* Conga-rats on learning the art of graphic-making, Liberty! I would love to know how to make my own avatars, but alas. I'm a hopeless case.
Umm. No. I haven't painted my nails with sharpies before. That sounds.....most interesting.
Enjoy those online classes, Lady A! Business is a good thing. School has been treating me well. I've actually, *gasp*, been enjoying it.
Ditto, ditto, Louise! Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Not only are the leaves beautiful and the air fresh, but the cool weather brings my favorite outfits back into use - all those lovely sweaters, light jackets, jeans, boots, skirts + leggings combinations, and scarves. *is a biiiiig-time fashion fanatic*
Are you by any chance thinking of going into teaching?
It's one of many possibilities.

Mortereve, all.
*waves to Melian* Sorry to hear of the impending mountains of schoolwork. Maybe you could ask your mom for a bit of ... grace?

I wish I could, but I really brought this down upon myself. I asked for hard... I just didn't anticipate as much as my Momma gave me.
*waves and huggles her bewuved sis, Lia* I've missed you on chat - I've finally been able to get on a little bit more, and you're gone? Very sad. I can't wait till you can join us again!
I'm sorry about all the stress, and your grandparents health issues. Praying!
I've missed you too, dearie! We'll have to PM, although this last break is now over. Wen school starts up in a week, chat is going to be pretty much cut out completely, though. Thank you for praying for my stress and my grandparents - both are doing quite well now.
*is quite positive somebody asked her something about student leadership, but can't find the post/person* Anyhoo. I'll be starting that the first week of September. As a student leader, I'll be helping lead and plan the Wednesday night meetings. *is slightly nervous*

Hello, SquareOnions! It's been a while since I've checked in, but it's been a busy few months. I helped my parents move earlier this summer (downsizing from a house they'd lived in for over 55 years to a one-bedroom apartment), then I moved a few weeks ago (more downsizing!), and then my car died. But after 20 years and 247,000 miles, it's earned a place of honor. I was able to find a much newer car (a 2005 Accord) at a reasonable price.
Last week my brother and his family were in town, so I showed them the sights: the Mall of America, and a Twins game. And yesterday I walked about 500 miles at the state fair...trying to burn off the annual dose of 'fair food.'
I like apples, especially honey crisp...
Ditto! I tried the U's newest hybrid, SweeTango, last year, and they're really good too, if hard to come by. But now that September's almost here, I can look forward to this autumn's trips to orchards for fresh-picked apples and evening campfires under the fall colors.
...thinks the "C" word has been used entirely too much.
I do believe that's 'inconceivable'
Congrats, Libby, on becoming a Master.

I went to a Twins game last week too! My dad took me to the 12:10 game on Thursday.

It's a small world!
That's the very game we attended. We were high above the first base line but had a very good view.
I'm sure the Square could feature non-chocolate treats for those preferring them.
I can't believe August is almost over. The long Labour Day weekend is almost upon us; soon I'll have to pack the camping gear. Right now the weather forecast looks excellent.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Well, Liberty, Liberty, that's wonderful! And I see we're running neck-and-neck in this. I'm glad NarniaWeb has become such a special part of your life.
So glad you're enjoying school thus far, Louise the First! And I do like your autumn-coloured post. ♥
Well, then, Melian, all the best with 'hard'. And kudos to you for asking for the challenge. That's great about being a student leader: such excellent experience. And I'm thankful your grandparents are both doing better.
And yesterday I walked about 500 miles at the state fair...trying to burn off the annual dose of 'fair food.'
Got quite a kick out of that for some reason.
Mmm, SweeTangos, eh? Since Honeycrisps are one of my favourite kinds, I'm hoping to track down this new hybrid somewhere this fall.
stargazer, you have surely had a busy few months, full of changes. God's continuing strength be yours! And to your parents too. And ... hurrah for Hondas! Your old car treated you very well for many years and miles, to be sure!
Enjoy this Labour day weekend out in the beauty and peacefulness of nature! As for us, we'll be moving our two boys into their respective universities: one six hours away; the other a half hour away. This fall, though, I'm hoping to get out on a colour-filled, bonfire-scented, crunchy-leaved hike most Sunday afternoons. *crosses fingers and furry toes*
Twigs, I did see a wee tree growing that should suffice your sweet/non-chocolate tooth preference. Ah yes, here it is! *hopes Twigs enjoys lollipops* But, hmmm, I guess that's not so wee anymore. Odd. It was the last time I checked. Well, you know these candy trees.
Btw, I tried to find Starbursts or gummie bushes, but they're more difficult to grow, apparently.
What fun you and stargazer were both at the same Twins' game!
Our son just passed his "G" license an hour ago. Now he doesn't have to try again ... until he's 80.
Happy Monday to all you SquareOnions!

Good mortereve, all! Hope everyone's doing splendidly.
I'm glad to hear that both of your grandparents are doing better, Lia. That's wonderful news!
*is highly impressed by 'Gazer's car*
*sends congratulations to Liberty on becoming a master* Don't know how I missed seeing that!
*waves to Pattertwigs Pal* Hmm.... a starburst tree? I think that could be arranged. *plants a handful of starbursts nearby the chocolate tree* Give that a night to grow, and we'll see what Narnia's magic can do.
I do believe you're the only NWebber I've met who dislikes chocolate -- aside from Nick, of course. Speaking of which, he needs to come by! I haven't seen him in months!
*"Accio, Nick!"* (Does that work on people? )
Happy week to you all!

Mmm, love that: it sounds so ... Narnian.
I gather "Nick" is who I call "Aidan"? I miss him too! I wonder how he's doing ... he was a regular for so long, and now the Square isn't the same without him.
*"Accio, Nick!"*
Now, watch him show up tomorrow.
I just got in from seeing a bright pass of the International Space Station. Nigh right overhead, it was, and traveled right through that vast summer triangle. Very cool!
And now, a non-chocolate treat that I think y'all will enjoy.

Mmm... peaches. Delicious stuff. Definitely among my favorite fruits in the world.
Not that I don't also enjoy fresh preachers. I find Methodist ones the best. The Baptist ones are also good, but they go rotten so often, especially if they come from the south. Lutheran ones are also good; they almost have a Catholic taste to them.
(My apologies if I have offended anyone.)
Anyways, nothing crazy going on here. Except I had to deal with a particularly crazy driver on my way to work this morning: he would intentionally speed up to get in front of me, slow down once he was in front of me, and would even drive on the line between lanes to keep me from switching lanes to pass him. All this time taking any chance he was beside me to glare out his window at me.
Still trying to figure out the reason why. Take a pick:
A. he hates military people
B. he hates Asians
C. he was annoyed that I had passed him earlier
D. he was just crazy
Maybe he should have had some fresh peaches before driving out. Or fresh preachers.

Mmmm, peaches...just had some delicous ones earlier this week. So juicy and tasty.
Today was a glorious late-summer day, so I answered the call of the outdoors with a campfire at a nearby park. It began to cloud up around dusk, however - and I'd been looking forward to a fairly good ISS pass. As it happens the clouds weren't that thick, and the station was bright enough to see through the haze.
And to top it off, I sign on here and discover that jo and I observed the same pass! It's always special to think that someone hundreds of miles away is looking up and seeing the very same satellite, at the same time, as I am.
*adds another vote to the 'autumn is my favorite season' tally*
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Hello, everyone!!
I've been putting this off for a long time, so I'd better get to work. Not too much happening, but I got in another play, and my birthday is tomorrow.
Ela, I think I've told Dennie that we're kind of near. I don't know if she remembers, though.
! It would be just loverly to ge together with you and Miss R!
![]()
I told her that we wanted to get together, and I'm pretty sure she remembered where you lived. Let's do it!!
Haha, I'm opposite--I think rainy days in the country would enrapture me. The city is lovely in its own way, too, but I think I like rural areas. Or at least suburbs, because I like being near grocery stores and such conveniences.
Ah, but in the big city - to look down onto the busy streets with the rain pouring down, and people hurrying around with big umbrella's . . it's so wonderful. ohhhhh I'm missing D.C.
I did have a good day, thanks!
Aww, thank you so much about the pillows!

The first one is one of my favourites, as well.
Unless I find use for them, I probably won't keep them- most likely give them as gifts or sell them, if I find anyone who wants to buy one.![]()
How long did it take you to make them? That sounds lovely, I'm sure plenty of people would want to buy them.
I would have never thought "Come-ree." I was saying "Sime-roo" this whole time.
Thank-you! It's good to see you around, btw.
![]()
Me too.
Happy late birthday and anniversary again, Rose.
I'll definitely be missing the place and it's lovely people as well.
Hopefully I'll still to post once-in-awhile... or on the weekends, at least.
It will miss you horribly - in fact, it already does!!
I'm glad you're excited about your new job! I hope you have fun!
I very much approve of this idea! I've thought about getting together with Bella and Ella (her sister, who ironically has the same nickname as you
), since we drive by her area three to four times a year. I've just never put two and two together. It would be lovely to meet all three of you! (And Dennie too, of course, if she came along.)
That sounds wonderful! It would be awesome to meet all of you!
Congrats on getting 10,000 posts, Libby, and one your new graphic making adventures!
*waves to Lady Amalthea* How are you doing?
Exactly. That's what I can hardly wait for.
(Well, I adore Autumn too.)
I cannot believe my ears - or eyes.
The only way I can bear winter, is the thought of leaving for at least two weeks of it.
But I don't mind the thought of a few days . .
Oh, and I enjoyed that group hug.

stardf. Your 'fresh preacher' paragraph cracked me up.
And your story of the crazy driver was bizarre. You wonder why someone gets his jollies out of incompetent driving such as this. I'm just glad you stayed safe. Re "fresh peaches/fresh preachers", maybe a dose of each would have done him good.
I must admit, I eat probably 7 or 8 peaches a day. I think I'm getting hooked on them more and more each year. Black cherries are also delectable.
stargazer, that's really neat you saw that bright ISS pass through the thin clouds, and especially that it was the same pass I was seeing! 'Twas -3.5 here. Beautiful!
I'm hoping to catch a -8 Iridium flare tomorrow morning around 6:30 EDT, but the sky will already have begun to lighten, so I'm not sure if I'll actually be able to pinpoint it.
It's always special to think that someone hundreds of miles away is looking up and seeing the very same satellite, at the same time, as I am.
Hearty DITTO! What's that song? "Somewhere Out There": here's a paraphrase:
"And even though I know how very far apart we are
It's cool to think we might be looking on the same bright star."
The only way I can bear winter, is the thought of leaving for at least two weeks of it.
Well, life would be boring if we were all the same.
It was funny on the way down to the Moot a month ago, JillPole and I were traveling buddies, which was wonderful. There were two main areas, though, where we differed: I'm a morning person; she's not, and I'm always warm/hot; she's mostly the opposite.
So, when we'd switch driving, the first thing both of us would do would be to direct the air-conditioning vents my way. Actually, she'd close some of hers right off sometimes.
We got quite a chuckle out of that. Cooperation always works well!
Well, this week is gearing up to be quite warm, with the temperature dropping a fair bit on Sunday. (Hurrah!) There is a maple tree along a street close by that is really turning a brilliant orange already. So pretty!
I mean, just feast your eyes! That was taken in the foothills of the Laurentian Mountains in Québec.

Yup. Nick, Aiden, NN95. He was such a fundamental part of the Square. *le sigh* For the record, I will be absolutely flabbergasted and THRILLED if my 'accio' spell works.
PEEEEEACHES! *dive-bombs*
*giggles at the 'fresh preacher' discussion* Eep, Stardf, drivers like that are always so frustrating. I would go with answer D - he was off his rocker.
The time spent outdoors sounds absolutely lovely, 'Gazer! Autumn is the perfect season for campfires.
Your birthday is tomorrow, Elanor? Best wishes to you! I hope your day is simply wonderful.

Aw man, I'm flattered.
So far, however, the weekends look promising for posting. Hurray!
