*wanders into the Square and takes a seat next to the fountain, shaking water droplets from her hair* Good mortereve, all! It's been raining like no other this afternoon, which is wonderful for me. I love listening to, walking in, and smelling rain.... as long as it stops after a day or two. A good book and snack only enhance the fun.
My life has been uneventful, lazy, and relaxed, but it feels so wonderful not to have to do anything. A lovely reward after a school-filled summer.
Aside from sleeping ( ), I haven't been up to much of late; today I watched several amazing DVD's on Martin Luther King, however - not the first time, more like a fifth or sixth (I have the habit of watching and re-watching movies I love over and over and over), but they were still a powerful watch all the same. Dr. King was such in inspirational man, the way he stood up against the odds and never backed down. He had a dream, worked to fulfill that dream, and changed history because of it. And, of course, those electrifying speeches are not forgotten easily.
Anyhoo. School starts on Monday, so I won't be on NarniaWeb as much. I need to get in some shopping over the weekend, and my sister and I are *hoping* to see Deathly hallows 2 together before she leaves. Not sure whether that will work out or not, but it would be nice if it did.
Oh - and did I mention that I found a job?
*proceeds to catchup*
*waves to the apple-chomping Fireflower* Hullo, there! A high-five for pronouncing my username correctly! xD And you're reading Ted Dekker's Black? How fun. Those books are an excellent read. Have you read Red and White yet?
*tut-tut's Fireflower for not enjoying her fruits and vegetables much*
The two pillows sound lovely, Bella. And no worries about the pictures - hope your camera gets to functioning properly again! It's always frustrating when things decide to stop working.
Well, Rose-ARE-ee-oh does sound prettier. It's all right, though. It's so easy to mispronounce usernames, since you can't talk to the person in real life and hear how they say it. The one username I never remember how to say is Cymru's. Heh. Oh yes, and I pronounced Ceppault wrong for the LONGEST time.
I wonder what is it with SquareOnions and eating apples by books. Perhaps because I've eaten too many apples in my short lifetime, I don't love apples very much. At least, they are not my choice fruit. (except if they are Gala or Fuji, or have the adjective "cinnamon" preceding "apple." Then I love love love them.)
I actually don't like apples too well myself (except in pies ). It's just the traditional food to eat while reading, I suppose.
I like all varieties of fruit, with the exception of mangoes and papayas (unless they're the real thing - from, say, South America; those are absolutely delicious). Apples are just... eh. Not loved, not hated. Except, as you mentioned, Fujis. We grow a lot of those around here, and they're yummy!
I guess it's a good thing I ended up in Michigan, loving fruit so much and all. We have so much fresh stuff - I'm spoiled! Peaches, apples, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries, grapes, melons, pears, mulberries, [sometimes] apricots.....
*picks up a conversation about the Chat Room and is sad she can't be in there more* One of the sad results of having dial-up internet. *sniff-sniff*
I'm happy to hear that you didn't trip over your dress after all, Elanor! It sounds like the ball was heaps of fun. I would love to learn how to dance, but have never found the time. And then no one around here does it anyway, so there isn't much point in learning. *le sigh*
Yes, Josh Groban has such a wooooonderful voice - so warm and calming. I haven't listened to him as much of late either, though I have a lot of his stuff. I'm hoping to go to a concert of his someday.
And three cheers for pronouncing my username correctly!
Do you live somewhere where it's freezing from mid October to April? Cause if you do, and you still like winter...
....No. We usually get snow in late-November/early December, and it lasts until mid-February. I only love winter up to January. Then it can go away.
*squeals and dive-bombs Liberty's delicious-looking cake* xDD Om nom nom, thank you! Virtual stuff is lovely - no major workout is required afterward.
*waves to wild rose (good luck on the English tutoring!)* And I know I already said this in the WC, but the historical festival sounds like loads of fun. Enjoy!

Mortereve, all! I'm glad to see the square is moving faster.
So today has been interesting. I woke up at 10:15 (I slept at about 1:30 so I should have woken up at 9:30 to get adequate rest, but I decided to sleep in for the rest of the half hour or so. Then I drank my cup of tea, got changed, and then saw that it had rained. It was so pleasant to see the room flooded with nothing but a grey light running through the blades. No sunlight, still making me feel that I woke up early. Anywho, I opened the window and read to the sound of gentle rain. I love rain and, of course, aftertherain.
Then my sister and I had an amateur photoshoot right after she got up (which was MUCH after I got up.
). So we took pictures.
And then I went on a walk with my mom and picked two lovely card sets at Dollar Tree, which was nice. One has the cutest little mice pushing a large strawberry. It's the cutest thing in the whole wide world.
That means that the camera is working! By popular demand (hah), the picutures of some of the pillers! Basically, I knit the front and then my mom sewed the back fabric on in a pillow-case kind of way, except it's all closed up.
Okay, so I LOVE this fabric!!
The deep turquoise one. The light blue and dainty roses fabric.
The black one: taken before my sister came with the sheet for the back. The fabric makes me squee.
Pale yellow with golden-brown leaves in the back. It's very Winnie-the-Pooh-ish.
OOOH, Liberty, the cake looks sublime. *cuts out a piece and piles her plate with fruit and chociwit*
*waves to Ela/Nora--Ela-Nora * How are you doing?
*cheers Wrose in her writing* You can do it! As I've said, you're very brave to do 100k in two months. (seperate novels and all, but that's still amazing.
)
Thank-you!
All the best on the pillow assignment! May you show us pictures when you're done? How do you make the pillows?
Have fun at the historical festival! That sounds like heaps of fun.
I'm glad you're enjoying "Black" by Ted Dekker! I have not read many of his works, except Blessed Child, which I fairly enjoyed. I tried reading "Green" but had some difficutly following along. Is it better to start with the first one in the Ciricle Triology or does it not matter?
Haha, well I'm glad you like apples so! And raspberries. *drools* I LOVE those. Strawberries are lovely when in season. Sweet and tasty!
Ah, well thank-you very kindly for the orange! *Bella grabs the orange, peels it, and ravenously eats it*
Ditto, I use far too many emoticons in one go. I'm trying to stop, because lovely blogspot doesn't allow emoticons. Or, at least, it doesn't have emoticons like wordpress does. I'd be a emoticon-rambley mess if I used wordpress.
Thank-you, Miss R! RoseAIReeoh sounds lovely, too. Both are nice. Yes, mispronouncing usernames is my specialty, it seems!
Is Ceppault's "ceppaul-tee"? I had somehow thought it was, but it's always "cep-pault" to me.
How is Cymru's name pronounced?
With Narniawebbers, only a few get my RL name right. You were one of the few, I think!
Woohoo for finding a job, btw!! *throws confetti on Miss R*
Ditto about apples! I don't love them or hate them, they're just... "Oh, apples." for me. Except in pies, right!
Mm, yes. We get Papayas from Mexico, and they taste rather nice. Mangos from their authentic country of origin taste wonderful, too.
I noticed that when studying Michigan in Geography! They mentioned that berries and such yummy fruits are quite frequent in MI, and I was like, "Ohh, Miss R has all the good fruits!" *loves peaches, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and apricots* And all the other stuff you mentioned.
I saw in the health thread that your family has a garden--that is so. neat. !!
All we get in IL is corn and apples. *won't complain, though*
I agree- Martin Luther King's speech is really electrifying. I have not heard the whole thing, but I've read some of it in history. When one ad plays for the news with "I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.", it gives me goosebumps. I really need to hear the whole thing.
And I think I'm done with ketchup! (to coin Princess of narnia's phrase. I miss here here... )
I'll be around for a few. Sorry for the rushed nature of this post.

Hello everyone!
*sits back and looks at the beautiful sky, in which the sun is slowly sinking farther, and farther down, into those lands in which the sun walks when it is far away from us* Uh-oh - getting poetic? I love sunlight!!! I like rainy days (not in the country. Rainy days in the city are the most amazing thing on earth), sunny evenings, thunderstorms after the sun sets, and then a clear, starry night. Needless to say, I rarely get that combination.
*waves to Libby, and helps herself to a small slice of cake* Profuse thanks, headed your way!!
The ball sounds like a lot of fun Ela, I'm glad you didn't trip over your dress
and the tea party sounds like heaps of fun too
![]()
It was very fun - and yes, I'm relieved I didn't trip on, or tear my dress - I was seriously worried about it.
I agree, summer has gone by real fast, i didn't enjoy it at all though, I think this has been one of the worts summers for me
Well, then I suppose you should be grateful that it's going fast. I'm awfully sorry about that, Wild dear.
It's usually my winters that are horrible - I can't be dreadfully unhappy when it's warm and beautiful.
*waves back wildly to Ela* How are you?
I appreciate your enthusiasm, dear Mountie. I'm really good, actually.
You?
nyhoo. School starts on Monday, so I won't be on NarniaWeb as much.
Good luck on school - and we will really miss you around here!!
Oh - and did I mention that I found a job?
That's frightfully exciting!! May I ask what it is? Is it your first job?
I would love to learn how to dance, but have never found the time. And then no one around here does it anyway, so there isn't much point in learning.
I understand. I met some friends a little more than a year ago, who are really obsessed with Regency Dancing, so they taught us. I can't remember when I learned to waltz, but it was a long time ago. And then some random people at my brother's college taught me to Swing dance, quite awhile ago.
es, Josh Groban has such a wooooonderful voice - so warm and calming. I haven't listened to him as much of late either, though I have a lot of his stuff. I'm hoping to go to a concert of his someday.
OH my goodness, yes. Let's go to a concert together! His voice is awfully amazing - and I love most of the songs he sings. A few exceptions.
It looks like you and Bella live (semi) near me - we should all get together sometime!
I only love winter up to January. Then it can go away.
It's started taking me shorter and shorter.

Ela, I think I've told Dennie that we're kind of near. I don't know if she remembers, though. ! It would be just loverly to ge together with you and Miss R!
Haha, I'm opposite--I think rainy days in the country would enrapture me. The city is lovely in its own way, too, but I think I like rural areas. Or at least suburbs, because I like being near grocery stores and such conveniences.
I did have a good day, thanks! Aww, thank you so much about the pillows!
The first one is one of my favourites, as well.
Unless I find use for them, I probably won't keep them- most likely give them as gifts or sell them, if I find anyone who wants to buy one.

LOL, that is a bit of a problem, actually my friend was in China recently, I should have had her look for them

Goodness, it's been a while! Between being caught in the black hole of lunacy and fun known as NarniaWeb Chat, and getting super (yes, that was a pun ) involved with roleplays here in Ditto Town, I'm afraid I've slipped back into my old lurker ways.
My NarniaWeb anniversary (and birthday, actually—finally joining the forum was a present I gave to myself last year ) is tomorrow, and I just had to drop by and say that all of y'all have made my first year on this forum an absolute joy.
I'm sorry to cut this post so short—it's just so unlike me, there's hardly any babbling in it at all —but I'd better go write in that journal of mine and reflect on the highs and lows of being nineteen before the clock strikes twelve.
I promise to be back soon, though! I miss you guys! Hope everyone is doing well, and talk to y'all later.
Mortereve, all! Just in for a bit this morning - we're going shopping in a few minutes. Cute pillows, Bella! And I agree with you: the fabric of the first one is absolutely gorgeous. I think that and the third one are my two favorites, though they are all very pretty!
Ceppault is actually pronounced "See-pault," or so my sister informs me. And as stardf said up above, Cymru is "Come-ree." They're both very neat, but I often forget their pronunciations due to the uniqueness.
I tried reading "Green" but had some difficutly following along. Is it better to start with the first one in the Ciricle Triology or does it not matter?
Personally, I didn't like Green at all. The other three are much better. I would highly recommend getting through Black and Red before giving up interest! (The conclusion in White is very interesting, though; I'd hate for you to miss it.) They aren't my favorite books out there, but they were a nice read. I don't like to count Green as part of the trilogy.
With Narniawebbers, only a few get my RL name right. You were one of the few, I think!
Woohoo for finding a job, btw!! *throws confetti on Miss R*
*is confetti-fied* I've sometimes wished that my RL name is more unique. I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't know how to pronounce it.
Ditto about apples! I don't love them or hate them, they're just... "Oh, apples." for me. Except in pies, right! Mm, yes. We get Papayas from Mexico, and they taste rather nice. Mangos from their authentic country of origin taste wonderful, too.
Lol, yes - that reminds me of Trumpkin: "Oh..........Apples. I must say you ancient kings and queens don't overfeed your courtiers!" Yes, when I was in Brazil the mangoes were wonderfully delicious. Everything was, actually. They ate a lot of yucca root, and of course black beans with rice, as well as some other fruits: pineapples, star fruit, mangoes, and more. Mmm.
Yes, my parents are very into gardening. I don't enjoy the weeding, but I do love the results!
Oh, do listen to the whole speech sometime! You can probably find it on Youtube. The "I have a dream" sections are especially amazing. "I have a dream that someday my four little children will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." His MountainTop speech is really good, as well (or at least the ending is). That was the last one he ever gave, with the famous (sometimes considered prophetic) ending: "Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we, as a people, will get to the promised land! And so I'm happy tonight, I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man! Mine eyes have seen the coming of the Lord!"
If you ever get the chance, you should watch The Witness. It's a documentary on his death, and it's very insightful as well as moving. When I was with my aunt and uncle in Memphis, Tennessee, we were able to visit the Lorraine Motel - the place where King was shot, now turned into a museum. It was too incredible for words, standing feet away from where he fell. I love museums to begin with, but this one was exceptional! I hope to go there again someday.
Good luck on school - and we will really miss you around here!!
I'll definitely be missing the place and it's lovely people as well. Hopefully I'll still to post once-in-awhile... or on the weekends, at least.
Yes, I AM frightfully excited! This will be my first during-the-school-year job - the others I've had have only been over the summer. I'm working for one of the English teachers at school - grading papers, keeping assignments organized, keeping the classroom clean and in shape. I'm really happy about it, because English is my favorite subject and this particular teacher is one I really connect with. *does a happy dance around the fountain*
OH my goodness, yes. Let's go to a concert together!
His voice is awfully amazing - and I love most of the songs he sings. A few exceptions.
It looks like you and Bella live (semi) near me - we should all get together sometime!
I very much approve of this idea! I've thought about getting together with Bella and Ella (her sister, who ironically has the same nickname as you ), since we drive by her area three to four times a year. I've just never put two and two together. It would be lovely to meet all three of you! (And Dennie too, of course, if she came along.)
*sends greetings to Stardf and Other Rose*

I have started online classes for college, so I may need to take my breaks in here as well - what with it being online and all. I'm having fun, though. Hey ho, all ye Super-Duper SquareOnions!
Dearest Lady A, do you know you used the word "chocolate" 6 times in that post?! Why not more?
Btw, I love your signature: one of my favourites quotes from all the Chronicles. Just reading it gives me the goosebumps. (Do geese get peoplebumps?)
Unfortunately, hints of autumn have yet to reach Michigan. It is still very definitely summer here. But yes. I am going to be beyond happy when the leaves start to change, and the geese start to leave, and the air starts to cool.
Mmmm, yes. YeS. YES!!! Granted, the hints are still just that: the barest signs that change is coming. But at least we're heading in the right direction: into fall (rather than spring into summer).
From what I've heard via the Royal Mother it sounds like y'all had a splendid moot.
'Tis true. 'Tis very true. Great memories to add to the NarniaWeb Memory Book. In fact, a month ago tomorrow, the Moot began.
*doesn't understand the Louises yearning for fall/autumn* Don't you know hat comes after that? *looks around fearfully and whispers* WINTER!!
Exactly. That's what I can hardly wait for. (Well, I adore Autumn too.)
*waves to Melian* Sorry to hear of the impending mountains of schoolwork. Maybe you could ask your mom for a bit of ... grace?
It's hard when grandparents aren't well, isn't it? I hope they have good doctors who are keeping close tabs on them. Any improvement?
And I got a job - working for my favorite teacher, who happens to teach my favorite subject.
The prospect of grading English papers doesn't necessarily thrill me, but I guess I'll manage.
That's excellent! Good practice too. Are you by any chance thinking of going into teaching?
Mountie! I'm impressed that you had a plate of apple slices, but seemed to refrain from climbing up the chocolate tree to nab some sweeties.
Hey, Dekker's a favourite modern author of mine. Still have to read the Circle series though.
I know, people are shocked when they know I like Dekker and have yet to read those.
Bella, those pillows sound so lovely. Pics, please? And, btw, the clementine tree is planted: now we have to wait for those sweet, wee, juicy things to ... grow. They should be ready by around the end of November.
EDIT: I see you posted photos later. Wow, those are beeeaauutiful! My favourites are the paisley and the floral, but they're all so lovely. Heehee, that bird one's fun! Have you thought of making them to sell?
I love rain too, and your rain photoshoot pictures were really unique and pretty.
Good gracious, Liberty, that looks simply amazingly decadent. Wow! I wonder if they could be grown on trees ...
wild rose! I hope you're having a wonderful time at the historical festival now. It's cool how your family is so involved in these. So, how did your costume turn out?
Louise, those Martin Luther King DVDs sound fantastic! Michael W. Smith began one of his old songs with part of Dr. King's famous "I have a dream" speech. Ah, here it is: Breakdown. This was from his "I'll Lead You Home" album, one of my (many) favourites of his.
Oooh, a very happy (and belated ) one-year anniversary to Rose! It's wonderful having you here. You've become such an integral part of NWeb.
Now. *ahem* Vern, oh Vuuuuurn! *whistles* (Wups, possibly that sounds a bit too much like calling a dog.

Dearest Jo! I was not aware that I used the "C" word so seldom in that post! What was I thinking? Chocolate, most likely.
So glad that you are here. I came back after drying off to do some work on the beloved chocolate tree. Miss Rosario said it needed pruning (or pruming, and my father-in-law used to say) but it seems to be in good shape at the moment. Perhaps a few too many chocolate covered apples... would you like one?
*hands Jo a freshly picked apple*
I better get back to the castle now. When I left, dear KL was reading allowed from the book of Cod: The Fish That Changed the World. I doubt he has noticed my absence, but I don't want to take too many chances. Last time he went looking for me he wandered in to the root beer cellar and discovered that Prince Cor and Vern had helped themselves a bit more than usual.

I love posts about ♥ food ♥. Chocolate-covered apples, Lady A? I've tried them in fondue, although it's mighty tricky to keep the runny chocolate on a juicy apple slice.
Worth it, though, oh yes, precioussss ...
The only apples that seem to be crunchy now are Pink Lady. I look forward to another month when this year's crop is ready in so many different varieties. Can't wait for that cool, crisp weather for hiking and munching on apple-dee-dapples.
Too much root beer, eh? Hmmm. *hiccup* 'Scuse me
After all this chocolate, I need some exercise. *makes a rather awkward swan dive into the Ditto Pool (all that food in her tummy has off-balanced her ), and hopes Vern will light a fire for toasting S'mores afterwards*
