Good Mortereve!!
I haven't been in the Square in MONTHS! Way too long. Do you guys even remember me?
Ooh! Ooh! *raises hand* I remember you! And your signature is unmistakeable!
I'm glad you had fun camping. I've actually never been camping. Always wanted to though.
Haha, that was so much fun! *is exhausted too* I think the best one was yours Riella! There were a lot of funny things but that was the only one that really, 100% tricked me for a minute!
Aww, thanks! It was actually a last minute thing. I thought of it just as I was about to log off.
Haha, I like your signature pogginfan! Funny (I love VDT by the way ).
Pogginfan isn't insulting your favorite movie, then. I think the sig is from PC.
~Riella
Lucy of Narnia, I'd be willing to dance the Virginia Reel with you, but you'll have to teach me the steps.
You know... you guys do the holiday like no one else in the world does. XD
I expect this is a good thing. Thanks for playing along.
I think you're right about which movie Poggy's (lovely) sig refers to.
Hi, Poggy! It's nice to see you again.
Ruby, and Winter, thanks for the push to watch FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I quite enjoyed the series. (As might be obvious at this point. )

Hello everyone! Finally back to the square! Thought I'd start with talking about how I am (:P) which I can do while I reply to someone! Yay!!
@Elanor: No problem. Hope you've been well?
Well, this was a long time ago, but yes thank you, I have been well. I recovered from a nasty odd fever/cold thing recently, so it's good to be healthy again. On Friday I'm going to a play and there I will see some of my dearest friends who I haven't seen for almost 5 months now. I'm SO excited about that! Other than that, life has been a bit boring lately - every day drags on so. I need to get more to do.
How have you been? I've missed talking to you!!
I know this was awhile ago, but stardf, congrats on 6 years! Very impressive! Oh, and belated happy birthday!
You will!! ..Have you? DoitdoitdoitdoitdoitDOIT. *tries to assume a stern face and fails*
I should go do some now, actually - take my mind off things. There's so many plot holes to tie up, though. I think from about the second fifth of the book, I might change the direction entirely. Don't want to think about how much work that's going to take.
How are you doing, AC?
I did start once!! But I only got through a little bit . . but my novel seems a bit better than it was before!! lol . . I'm trying!!! You do it!!
Have you? lol!!!
Well - that wasn't so bad!! *waves to everyone*

*Enters the Sqaure sipping a cup of green tea* Good mortereve, Squareies. Today has been a lazy sort of day. Lazy in a good way, though. It's nice to take things easy every once in a while, and spend the day reading a book, getting school work done and whatnot.
Haha, I like your signature pogginfan! Funny (I love VDT by the way ).
It's nice to meet you!
Hello there, nice to meet you too! Why thank you. The sig is from PC, actually (as Ithilwen and Mel pointed out). I liked VDT, too. I need to re-watch it though.
Ooh! Ooh! *raises hand* I remember you! And your signature is unmistakeable!
I'm glad you had fun camping. I've actually never been camping. Always wanted to though.
Yay, you remember me! Haha, thank you, I suppose that could be because I haven't changed it in over a year, eh?
Oh, you should go sometime! Nothing like a day in the great outdoors.
Hi, Poggy! It's nice to see you again.
Hi Mel! How have you been? Your sig/avatar look intriguing, what are they from?
*sends a wave to Elanor* How have you been?
Take care, Square ones! I'm going to go back to enjoying my book, Manalive.
Good mortereve, all!
Just wanted to drop by with a quick post and say hello. I apologize for the lack of catchup (though there doesn't seem to be much to catch up on). Everything has been crazy, and I haven't been on NarniaWeb as much lately.
I did read through the pages, though -- glad you came by, KK!
Ah and Lucy, I'll try to reply to your PM sometime this weekend. It's been about.... a month... or more....
*chuckles at the April Fool's confusion*
Anyway. Lots of homework and not enough time. Mortereve! Hope you all have a restful weekend.

-Bella: Hello! I'm doing well. 😀 And you??
-I was sad to miss April Fools Day. Had a friend over, so I couldn't really get on N-web without being rude. 😉 *laugh* Looks like y'all had fun though! Maybe next year I can join in.
-*listening to Noah and the Whale* Hm.
-Ooh, Elanor, sounds fun!! How was the play? 😀 Hope it was fun! 😀
-Wow, the square has been so slow lately! Here's my contributions. Heh heh. It's not much I'm afraid.
-Oh, P.S. My sister just had a baby boy on Sunday! 😀 They named him Will[iam] and he's a little cutie.

Hello, everyone!
My, but the square is going slow. WAKE UP, EVERYONE!
*sends a wave to Elanor* How have you been?
Hi, poggy!! I haven't talked to you in forever! I've been doing great though, thanks - the more I say that, the more it seems true. Yeah, there is always bad amidst the good. How have you been?
*waves to Miss R.* How are you doing?
-Ooh, Elanor, sounds fun!! How was the play? 😀 Hope it was fun! 😀
It was fun - the play was really, really good (The Secret Garden), though it had some weird spiritual stuff in it . . But the music was great, the acting was top notch, and I loved it! Has anyone seen it?
And it was lovely to see my friends, though I didn't get to talk to them as much as I wished I could. lol, with some of them I realized that they don't really remember or care for me, the ones I expected to, and then some people who I didn't think cared showed that they really appreciate and love me. It was - weird.
And the next day I went to another play with Dennie and Betsie and some other friends. So that was great!!
And I have the dates of the auditions of the next play I want to be in - Annie. I'm so excited about that!!
-Oh, P.S. My sister just had a baby boy on Sunday! 😀 They named him Will[iam] and he's a little cutie.
Congrats!! That's great!!!

Hi Mel! How have you been? Your sig/avatar look intriguing, what are they from?
I've been doing quite well. Suffering a bit from procrastinitus, but that's nothing new. The sig/avatar set are of Izumi Curtis from the anime FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The heroes of the series are the Elric brothers, and she's their mentor. I'm actually wondering now if the set isn't just a bit intimidating, just because Izumi can be extremely intimidating. I feel like it's a departure from my usual cozy, friendly graphics.
*waves to MissRosario* It's always nice to see you!
Su², you're an aunt? Again? Congratulations!!!
Elanor, I've never had a chance to see the play version of Secret Garden, but I've heard a bit about it. Is it very different than the book, or like the book, only more so?

*enters into a strange and unusual Square (took some courage to do an uppercase S on that because of the strangeness of the Square), so quiet and, and, and strange.....*
Hey Everyone! Though when I say everyone I mean those who should be in here as well as those who are....
It has been just over a month since I have been in here, that is strange indeed for me and then the Square only going 3 pages since I last came in is even more odd! Good grief where is everyone?!
I guess everyone is busy like me, I have been working a ton! Me hours last week were 53 hours because I put in a 10 hour day yesterday...
Anyway I shall tell you of a great disappointed in my life at this time ...
So we had a friend email us this past week and invite one of my sisters to go with them to England to be a nanny for there kidos for two months my older sister Hannah was thinking about it but decided that she will not going since (though that may change) she might be getting married in several months which would take some preparations. That left my little sister Jemimah who 14, mom and dad don't feel comfortable sending her by herself for two months so the alternative was to have me and her go so that she would have a family member and a older brother with her. So we brought this idea to our friends who said if I came the second month it would be better because the first month they were going to be doing a lot of traveling and their car there was really small and could only hold five (them and their two kids and a nanny).
I got really excited that I would be a least be going one month and maybe two if they said I could just stay at the house (that they are staying while they are there) while they are doing the traveling. This sounded like a ton of fun because then I could go all around and check out England!
Well I called and left a message with our friends bringing up the idea of me staying there while they were traveling. He called me back the next day and said that he and his wife talked about it and thought that the whole plan of me coming out would not work because when he first agreed to the idea he did not think of the house being so small (an English three bedroom house) would not be big enough to have me there as well. Which it could if they were like my family and were used to having a ton of people in a small house, but they are not used to that at all.... And he also brought up that the schedule he has of traveling around and ministering (he is a evangelist pastor) is not going to be traveling one month and not the next like he thought but broken up where they will be coming back to the house really often.
So even the idea of me going out there for a month and staying there while they are gone is not going to work....
Well you can just imagine how I feel after getting excited and looking forward to it for a couple days then having my hopes dashed like I was shot in the head!
But I guess that is how it is going to happen so I just need to move on and not get too disappointed, because how is that going to help? Well its not, so I plan on not being tooo distraught over it even though its disappointing....
Well now that I popped in a talked some and since there is not catchup I guess I'll pop out

Hmm, the Square is starting to look like a ghost town these days! I hope everyone's doing well.
Me and my family went to the beach today. It was lots of fun as usual. I'm hoping to learn how to surf this summer. Surfing looks like a ton of fun. I just wonder if I have the balance for that sort of thing. But I did wakeboarding alright, so hopefully I can catch on to surfing, too!
Anyways, enough rambling about myself!
*waves to Queen Susan* Hello! How have you been? That's so great about your new nephew!! I bet that's lots of fun.

I'm glad you're doing well! Very true, one often has to take the bad with the good as they say, eh? I've been very good myself! I'm excited to be finishing up school for the summer, and enjoy a break!
I've been doing quite well. Suffering a bit from procrastinitus, but that's nothing new.
Oh, good! Haha, I have had a rather severe case of procrastinitus lately myself. I always seem to catch it this time of year, when I have a lot of studying to do and the weather is so lovely out and I want to go outside and play.

Yeah, I guess they are slightly intimidating. But I guess that's what intrigued me, eh?
*waves to Benny* Hey! How have you been? Haven't talked to you in a while. Ahhh, man, I'm so sorry going to England isn't working out for you. I can imagine what a huge letdown that would be! But, I've found a closed door often means an open window. Hopefully everything will work out alright.

*waves back to Poggy* Howdy! Doing great, what about yourself?
Tis been a while indeed!
Very true Poggy, very true! I was asking God (before the letdown) if it was His will or not if I went and I said if it is Your will then leave the door open but if not then close it, and He closed it so I guess this is not my time and I'm looking forward to whatever He has in store for me. He is working all for my good so I'm trusting Him with that... Thanks for the encouragement

It would be fun to try surfing, and wakeboarding, what beach do you usually go to?
Time for me to leave this 'ghostly' place.......

*enters the ghostly (apparently) square* Helloooooo everyone!! Not too much catchup - nuts. WAKE UP, EVERYONE!!
Elanor, I've never had a chance to see the play version of Secret Garden, but I've heard a bit about it. Is it very different than the book, or like the book, only more so?
It is very much different from the book - it's more focused on Archibald and his Wife, and his brother (Dr. Neville) than Mary, really, which is kind of weird. They added all this stuff about spirits and Indian religions and etc, which didn't add to it at all. But the music was beautiful, and I really enjoyed it.
*waves to Benjamin* Believe it or not, I do understand what you're going through with the not going to England - my brother is probably going this fall, and me and my sister are like "WHAT!!!!". I mean, he wouldn't appreciate it nearly as much as us, and everything, so it's really disappointing.
I'm glad you're doing well! Very true, one often has to take the bad with the good as they say, eh? I've been very good myself! I'm excited to be finishing up school for the summer, and enjoy a break!
Yes, and the good wouldn't seem as good if it wasn't surrounded by bad. That's great, it's always exciting to finish up school - I'm looking forward to it myself!
Wow - that's all!

A tumbleweed blows down the deserted main street Square and doors creak eerily as they hang on one hinge. An intimidating figure stalks to the middle of the square, before the dust clears away, revealing...

Our own, loveable furry (sorry, I've been reading The Monster at the End of the Book again ) Meltintalle!
Poggy, what is wakeboarding exactly? I'm quite ignorant about watersports in general. But good luck with learning to surf. It sounds like it's probably really cool...
I think you'd like FMA: Brotherhood. I haven't seen Avatar, so I can't say how well they compare, but I've noticed that fans of one are often fans of the other.
*sympathizes with Ben* It would have been super cool if you could have gone to England, eh? I think I remember reading a little while ago that you were thinking about getting a car? How is that going for you? (People are now asking me, "So when are you getting a car?" I haven't the slightest idea what I'd be looking for... good gas mileage, for one, but... )
Elanor, huh, that's kind of strange about the play. I didn't even know Archibald had a brother. Sounds a bit more like fanfiction than adaption. But I'm glad you were able to enjoy the music.

Actually, despite a few small things, the musical isn't that much different than the book. Now, it's been awhile since I've read the book and seen the show, but in my opinion the musical stuck closer to the actual story than at least one of the films did.
wiki has this to say about the changes:
Changes from the original novel
Burnett's novel primarily focused on Mary and her interactions with Colin, Martha, and Dickon. The musical adds more emphasis to the adult characters by presenting (and to some extent, inventing) the shared history entwining the two families. Originally, Burnett stated that the name of Archibald's wife was Lilias, and that she was the sister of Mary Lennox's father; in the musical, Colin's and Mary's mothers are sisters named Lily and Rose.In the book, Colin's private physician is an otherwise unnamed poor cousin of Archibald Craven; Colin privately remarks to Mary that Dr. Craven is the next heir to Misselthwaite and "always looks cheerful when [Colin's health] is worse", but Burnett also states that Dr. Craven is "not an unscrupulous man, though he was a weak one, and he did not intend to let [Colin] run into actual danger." The musical tightens the doctor's conflict of interest and makes him the primary antagonist as Archibald's brother, Dr. Neville Craven, who once hopelessly loved Lily and whom Mary expressly accuses of wanting Colin to die for the sake of his inheritance.
I first came to know of the musical around... 2004 (?) when my local community theatre did it. I auditioned (for the part of Martha), but didn't make it. I went and saw the show with a friend, however, and fell in love with it. I bought the soundtrack cd of the original broadway cast, and bought the libretto book. (I can't recall if I got them before auditions or not, though. but i'm tempted to say I used the libretto to prepare for auditions, so...)
As for the "added mystical and Indian stuff", I don't think they added that for the musical. I could be remembering wrong, as again, it's been awhile... but I seem to remember at least HINTS of it in the original novel.
Anyway, I had to pop in and clarify. But yeah, it still has TONS of focus on the children (most of the songs are still them), but added more stuff for the grown-ups. and to be honest, I liked that, as I had always wondered about them when I was little.
Besides, that song, "Lily's Eyes"? GORGEOUS BEYOND BELIEF!!!!! EEP! And guess who played Archibald Craven (aka Colin's dad) in the original broadway production? Mandy Patinkin, no lie. (aka the guy who has been on Criminal Minds' early seasons as Jason Gideon... and more well known as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride) Until this show, I hadn't even known the man could sing. Boy, am I ever glad I found out!!! His voice is soooo awesome!
For info on the show, you can look on wiki's page for it. And you can always ask me. I mean, I'm no expert... but I've seen the show and have the songs memorised.
To see what it's like, I've found many videos of different productions for it on youtube in the past. If you want help, I can share my faves of those with you. (some groups are better than others)
....................
Ok, enough of my geekiness. (sorry, bad habit. you bring up theatre, or anything else I'm knowledgable about in the slightest, and I'm bound to jump in uninvited )
I'm sorry it's been awhile since I came in here. I've been thinking of you all, though.
I'm... ok. Tired and stressed all the time, but alive. Prayers would be nice, so that I could have more good days than bad ones! How're all of you?
outlier (at least, I think it was you?), I had waved to you the last time, cause I had mentioned others that were on, but had nothing to say in response to you. But I didn't want to not acknowledge your presence. So, I waved.
Ok, not sure what else to say. So, I'll stop by later. Oh, and in case I don't stop in again before then (or on the actual day)... HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!
disclaimer: I'm tired beyond belief, and my brain hasn't been up to par lately cause of it. So, if this seemed rude or made no sense, that was not my intention. I was only trying to add to a discussion that interested me... so I am sorry if it came out oddly. Love ya, you guys!
Happy Good Friday, everyone! Happy Easter everyone! Happy... The-Saturday-that-comes-in-between, everyone!
Tomorrow we're thinking of going to a Jewish celebration being held for non-Jews to show people more about their culture. It sounds interesting.
I've spent most of my time lately reading LOTR (which I finished, btw ) and ordering more Tolkien merchandise.
Plus, I've been making some major progress in the planning of my book!
