The Town Square II

I thank thee muchly! *Mops hair with the kindly given towel* No, the cobblestones art fine, dear friend; their unevenness lends character to this fair Square! Besides, I wilt still crash into stuff just as much anyway. I always findeth a way. I think mine clumsiness comes from being tall, and of being much used to having one's feet planted in the ground. Mine chronic absentmindedness mightst have something to do with it as well, mayhaps.

Perhaps. ;)) Or maybe dryads just aren't meant to be roller skaters. ;) I hath not been roller skating in a long time, but from what I recall, the wheels beneath such strange contraptions can cause one to lose their balance and fall. :P I much prefer ice skating myself, although I suppose the fact this Square seems to be lacking ice to skate on proves a difficult problem...

Good to know you love Pixar, too, Silver! They always make the best movies. I have to admit, though... I can never, ever focus when watching WALL-E. The CGI is outstanding, but as far as the film goes...

Yeah, I can understand why focusing would be hard...after all, the first half of the movie consists pretty much entirely of robot noises. ;)) I don't really know why I like it so much...maybe it's the CGI, or maybe it's just my inner sci-fi nerd wanting to come out. ;)

For Cars 2, I don't know... After seeing the trailer, it looks like it's going to be a little different feel than the first, which isn't bad, but I guess we'll see a little later! I'm really excited for Monsters Inc. 2 and the new Princess one, Brave, though.

It does look different! That's for sure. But I guess I have enough faith in Pixar to believe wholeheartedly that it'll be good. :D Oh yes, Brave! I'm very excited for that one. As for Monster's Inc. 2, I don't know since it's been an awfully long time since I saw the first one.

All the best reading Inkdeath! What did you think of the first two?

I loved them! :D Books about books? Yes please! ;))

*waves back to Silver* I don't think I have met you, But 'tis good to finally do so.

'Tis good to meet you too! You're welcome to call me Silver, Silvie, Sil, StW, or any other nickname you can think of. :)

I take way to many photos to. It is so easy to do with a digital camera, but I figure if I take more then I have more to choose from when I'm trying to find some that I like.

Exactly my thoughts! Looking back, most of my photos consist of sky (sunrises, sunsets, interesting cloud formations, etc.) and of my dog. ;)

Silver, I found all my BBC Narnia movies at a thrift store. They are VHS though. I'm not sure if you can get them on DVD....actually now that I think about it you can get them on DVD, cause my sister has them, but I'm not sure where.

Thanks! I'll have to keep an eye out for them, then. I seem to recall seeing them somewhere - either at our local video rental store or at the library. And I think I saw them at our Christian bookstore as well. It's definitely worth checking out. :D

I loooove chocolate chip cookies! And a glass of cold milk to dip them in.

Heeeree you go! The yummiest-looking virtual cookies and milk I could find. :P

I would like to make you some cookies - what kind do you want?

Ooh! I love peanut butter cookies! Especially when there's chocolate in them too. :D

Have you ever read the Dragon Keeper Chronicles by Donita K. Paul?

Yes I have! Though, it's been a while since I read them. "Wear pink - it confuses the enemy!" Best battle strategy ever, hehe. ;)

*Cor and Vern return the wave* Both the film and the soundtrack are now on my "to get" list for 2011.

Oooh, is there a soundtrack? I quite love the music from HTTYD - I'll have to look into it, then! :D

So does anyone know when the SC auditions are? I'm not sure, somebody told me they were Jan or Feb, but I don't know yet...if so, that'd be wonderful!

Since SC hasn't been greetlit yet by Fox, I don't think there's a set date yet, but I can't be sure. So you want to be Jill? That's neat! :D You like acting? (By the way, is there a nickname you'd prefer to be called? :) )

Now that is a good idea. I start school this Monday, though, so we'll see if I actually get around to doing that first. What? Math homework during break?!

Yeah, I start school on Monday too. I don't really know what to think of that. One part of me thinks I've been on break for forever, while the other part is mad that I didn't get more productive stuff done (*cough* editingmybookandgettingaheadstartonmymidterm *cough*). ;)) And yes, we have math homework! It should be a crime! But apparently my math teacher thinks it's a good idea. :P

*waves to Betsie* :)

Ah, welcome to the Pixar club! *sets up a club tent pronto and prints sheets for entry*

*sits down under the tent and fills out a sheet* ;)) We should start that! The NarniaWeb Pixar club. ;)

I'm surprised so many people don't know about The King's Speech; it's been generating a lot of Oscar buzz. But then again, it's not showing in all that many theaters, either. That's the way movies usually are with me: all the ones that everybody else is seeing I rarely care about, whereas I'm always waiting for pictures that no one has heard about to make it to my local theater.

Ah, I see. It's a shame that some of the best movies are the least-known ones. I'm not the best at keeping track of popular movies, since most of the ones I see in theaters are kids' movies. ;))

Silver, I'm more of a sugar or butter cookie girl myself. Never been a huge fan of gingerbread.

Yeah, neither was I! And then my friend and her family came over to bake cookies with us, and they brought along a TON of gingerbread cookie dough. Our house was overflowing with gingerbreadmen! I started eating them, and all of a sudden I loved gingerbread. It was the weirdest thing! ;))

Ugh, I couldn't agree more. I haven't really started.. partly because I'm not sure where to start, partly because I've had to do other writing for school, and partly just because I'm lazy. This week, hopefully.. otherwise I'll never get to it, what with school starting back up and exams and deadlines and all.

I think laziness is the main culprit behind my unproductivity. ;)) Usually I'll go through periods of laziness until some creative spark gets me going again. I guess I'll just have to wait for the spark. Ugh, exams! I am not looking forward to those.

Oh, and I'll let you know what I think of Inkdeath when I've finished it. :)

Oh my, this post is getting long! *skims*

*waves back to Elanor* I'm doing good, thanks! Just hanging out around the house. How about you? (Oh, and is your nickname Ela?)

Whew, done! #:-s Sorry for the longness, everyone! :P

That sounds fun - same for me. How was your Christmas? Doing anything for new years? I think we're going bowling tonight with friends, and then we'll probably watch a movie and welcome in the new year. :)
You can call me Ela, Ellie, Elle, Ella . . anything you like. :)
Oh, and if you do decide to start a pixar club - I'll be sure to join!!! :)

I don't think we can yet know when the auditions will be, since SC isn't greenlit yet. If/when it's greenlit, then hopefully we'll hear something about casting calls for Jill pretty soon after. I hope you're able to audition, if SC is made! :)

I hope they'll do things soon, green-lite and then casting calls! :D Thank you, I can't wait for the opportunity to come so I can finally see what will happen!! :D

*waves to Tiana and Lu* Hello, and nice to meet you! :)

Hi Elanor! I absolutely adore your avatar! Georgie is so pretty! "laugh"- that's so cute! :D

I'd fall over if I was cast as Jill! I adore acting and can do a pretty mean Smeagol/Gollum accent, if I do day so myself. (Not that that has anything to do with Jill, lol!) You can call me anything, though I often go by Lu. :D

Can you believe it's almost 2011? :-o

Well, I was right about the snow. It snowed all day yesterday and last night, and now we have a whole bunch of white snow blanketing the ground. I'm happy it's here, but unfortunately it got me in a Christmas mood. I was walking around singing "Let It Snow" all day yesterday. Thanks, Snow, but you're a little late... ;)

Okay, I've only been gone a day, and I have so many things to reply to... here comes the skimming. (My new slogan should be, "Would you like some milk to go with that skim?" ;)))

Ti'ana: Yeah, same here. Things were insanely busy for me. *sigh* I hope things calm down next year.
Yes, I agree about Justin Bieber. There have been SO MANY celebrities who everyone adored, and it didn't last. It's just another reminder of how temporary we are, and how eternal God is.
So you don't like not doing anything? That makes sense, but for now I'm enjoying the break. :p Things will pick up again next week, though.
See, I live in the USA so it's pretty much 50/50 here. I guess it's kind of nice that we get an equal taste of both.
After you said that about NW only having two Town Squares, I went and had a dream that another Town Square was opened because we went through the last 50 pages in like an hour. ;)) That way, we were able to cram in another Square before the new year ended. =))

It seems that I've forgotten how to code in quotes...*tries to remember*

Perhaps I can be of assistance? Basically, it'll look something like this -

whatever you want to say

Just take away the apostrophes, and then paste the text in between the two. If you want to quote a specific person, it'll look like this:

- of course, without the apostrophes. I hope that helped... I don't know if I'm very good at explaining things like that. :p

@ Mounty. First off: I don't think your post is long enough....

Ha! Nope, Vern simply goes by.... Vern.

*I do have a nickname that my cousins call me in Dragonish, but I doubt you could pronounce it and a literal translation would be difficult.... *

Very true, though I felt they could have cut out the seven swords plot and then have

Spoiler
killing the sea monster be what destroys the Dark Island. Since that what it looked like they were kind of going for anyway.

Haha, yes, it isn't until after I've written everything that I see how long my post was. :p
Vern is perfectly acceptable, then. Dragonish would probably be hard for me to attempt. I am fascinated by various languages, but mostly I like hearing other people speak it. Attempting to speak it myself is a different story.
Yeah, that's what I thought they were going for the whole time, and the

Spoiler
Seven Swords thing just seemed kind of awkward at that point. I think the movie would have been better without that plot, but it doesn't bug me too much.

Oh yes. One of my favorite bands. They're going a little too... hm. I can't remember the word. Ah yes, mainstream. I like the style, but some of their lyrics I'm starting to dislike more... :/
I love RelientK! 2nd favorite band probably. Switchfoot and TAN are good too... and from what I've heard of VSQ, so are they. But I haven't heard tons by them. I really like Josh Groban and Anberlin and Owl City and Kutless as well... to name a few.

I agree. I love them, but mostly their older stuff. Their newer CD was mainstream. I like mainstream sometimes, but I think you should either be mainstream from the beginning or stick with what you started out as - in Skillet's case, a good Christian rock band.
Relient K rocks. :D So does Owl City! And Kutless. And Josh Groban is hilarious! I haven't heard much of his music, but I love his videos... espeically Groban's Garden. ;))

My Christmas was all right I guess, Fireflower. I never got into the holiday mood this year, and Christmas itself was actually a bit tedious. Ah well, it wasn't terrible at least. It certainly felt amazing to relax! I got to hang out with several close friends, so that was really nice.

Aw. :( The holiday spirit was kind of elusive this year for me too. Now it's gone far too fast. We took down our tree yesterday, and I realized how short this Christmas felt. Ah, I'm glad you got to hang out with close friends. That's the best part about Christmas. :D

*waves to MountainFireflower* A pleasure to meet you! Do you have any approved nicknames? Oooh, you name things, too? Like what?

Ooh, likewise! Yes, I have many approved nicknames - Mountie, Fireflower, Fie, Miff, or simply Fire or Flower. :) Feel free to call me whatever you want! And do you have any nicknames?
Oh, lots. Let's see - I named my laptop Lavender, my guitar Grant, my bass guitar Ben, my old mp3 player Pansy, and my new one is named Djaq (after the character in Robin Hood, although our dear mod was also in mind as well. ;) )

WOW, Mountie, that's a long post!

Yes, I know. I've tried to keep it shorter in this post, but it's ending up long and I've only been gone a day. :-o

Aw, thank-you! It's a pleasure to mee you. I'm doing mostly well, thanks! How about you?
Aha, and gracias for complimenting my name/nickname. Yes, I too like my nickname, but wish that Twilight wouldn't be associated with it quite so much. It came from a Twilight fan, actually, but not intended that way, I hope. The NWebber who called me it called me Bella and my sister, C.S.LewisNarnia, Ella. So, Ella and Bella stuck. ^_^ No, 'tis not my real name.
Mm, okay! I shall call you Mountie but will tap my brain to see if I could add to your long list.
Ah, welcome to the Pixar club! *sets up a club tent pronto and prints sheets for entry* Which is your favourite Pixar movie?

I'm doing well as ... well. ;)) Oh, well it's gorgeous, and we can just pretend Twilight doesn't exist. :p Obviously Mountie is not my real name either... ;)
Ooh, yay! This is exciting. Is it official? Can I put a note in my sig? ;)
Hmm... Well, I have so many. Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, The Incredibles, UP, Monster's Inc. I love them all. Do I have to pick? ;)

To quote Tim Hawkins, "Justin Bieber, people? Come on! That's just Donny Osmond reincarnated."

;)) Ohhh, gotta love Tim Hawkins.
As a side note - I wasn't saying I like Justin Bieber or anything, but I don't hate him either like some people do. All I meant was, the kid can definitely sing, unlike some people. :p

You should give the BBC Narnia a try! Or at the least the Focus on the Family radio dramas. Those being in a different medium should help. And there are several great Robin Hood movies -- the Errol Flynn (with my darling Olivia de Havilland ), the Disney one, and the most recent Ridley Scott film with Russel Crowe.

Oh, I will, if I can find them. I've already heard the radio dramas - they're what got me started on Narnia in the first place! I absolutely love them!
I forgot about the Disney one! I have seen that, and I love it. I'll have to look into the others - I've heard of them but never watched them... sort of like the BBC Narnia series. ;)

Fireflower, I'm not quite certain what you mean, so apologies if I respond wrong. I'm going for my Bachelors of Science in Nursing and my RN. I would like to be a pediatrics nurse, but I'm open to other areas and just kind of seeing what I like/dislike during clinicals (the part of school where we actually get to go in and provide care to patients).

And, I'm glad you like my posts! I like coloring them in.

Oh, I'm sorry that I didn't clarify. I wasn't exactly sure how to pose my question. :) You did answer my question - I was just wondering if you were studying to be a pediatrics nurse, an NICU nurse, or something else. Sorry for the confusion - I don't know much about nursing. But I think it is very admirable that you're becoming one. :)
Yes, that must be fun! I still haven't found a specific color I would like to use in my posts in the Town Square. It's smart to have a rainbow of colors like you do so that you don't have to choose just one. ;)

(Okay, so I'm calling you Mountie now. It just sounds more.. nickname-ish )
Well, I suppose all I can do is wait and see. This waiting is getting seriously annoying. I feel like I've practically seen the film already, and keep giving my opinion of it, and my brother keeps saying, "but you haven't even seen it yet! Stop judging!"

Oh, that's fine! :) The only nickname I can think of for you is Aslee - and I don't mind if you hate it. ;)
Yeah, haha. I felt that way too, which is why I had to stop reading the reviews.

..Yeah, maybe not. But see, I divided them by topic, and this is all the same topic. So.. I'll let it be.
Ooh, well in that case, yeah, I think I like some of their older stuff better, although TLDMRBTD (longest album name ever ) doesn't leave me with much of an impression - I certainly haven't listened to it in forever. I like FaNSD, in a different way. I wasn't too keen on it at first, but it's grown on me. The songs are a bit more.. mature, I guess, although I'm not sure in what way it is that I mean that. But yeah, almost every song on that album is a breakup song so you kind of have to get past that. Still, they are growing up, and I'm not sure if I appreciate lack of, or miss the silliness.
Oh, don't worry. I was only rambling for the sake of talking about it, I wasn't expecting that you've heard all their songs.

Good. :) Haha, I know, I feel the same way about TLDMRBTD - I do like a few songs off of there though, like Mood Rings and Pink Tux to the Prom. Oh, lovely, breakup songs? I like my silly Relient K the way they are, thank you. :( ;) I guess I'll have to get used to the fact that they're growing up, but still.
*loves to ramble so she doesn't mind* :)

I've started playing the guitar again, in the last two days! And yeah.. my fingers hurt, a lot, but I'll just have to get past it. My mum is bringing her guitar, which has been sitting at church for a good long time, when we go on a brief holiday tomorrow, so it'll probably be easier on me than my brother's.
I think I have a confession to make, too.. I actually have his songs on my iPod, now, because I borrowed his CD from a friend. Ahem, yeah. That was a week or two ago, and at the time I was kind of addicted, but I haven't listened to them much since. They were kind of catchy.. and I liked watching the videos of him on Youtube, when he was younger. It was pretty cute. But no, the obsessive fans just make me roll my eyes.. really, just give him some space as a musician.
*joins in on the happy-sighing*

Oh, I'm so happy! :D I'm proud of you for picking it up again. ;) How's it going? Feel free to ask me any questions you might have, though I am not an expert in the slightest.
;)) That's fine, I have Jonas Brothers songs on my iPod, so...
Yeah, his songs ARE so catchy. They get stuck in my head all the time! I know. Obsessive fans over anything drive me crazy, but more often than not I end up BEING one...
But yes, Justin Bieber is talented, and it'll be interesting to where he goes with it.

Yeah, you'd be correct in assuming that. Although, ever since I got into music properly (as in, listening to stuff with lyrics on an iPod ) RK, Switchfoot, and Owl City have all come to Japan, and Skillet's coming in January, I think. I haven't seen any of them.. for a number of reasons, and I probably won't ever go to a concert during the rest of my short life in Japan. Maybe if Lifehouse comes.. Still.. it's annoying knowing they're here.
Oh, then that was a mistake during skimming on my part. Ooh, but enjoy the music you did get, it's definitely great stuff. Like you needed to hear that.

Yes, I know where you're coming from - it's hard for my family to make it to concerts, especially if we have to drive there. :( And one of my favorite bands, Stellar Kart, is coming to a town not too far from me... *sigh* I don't know if I can make it, but I'm praying really hard... :p
So you're not going to live in Japan forever? *is just curious*
Oh, that's okay, I'm skimming too. :p Yes, I have been enjoying it! ;) What did you get for Christmas?

I will admit, all that evil laughter is bound to be great for strengthening the lungs. And they say laughter is good for all sorts of things besides. The form of speech common in the Monastery is rather effective for exercising the tongue and learning how to untie one's tongue after it has become knotted.

;)) Yes, my lungs feel quite strong after my stay in the lair, and laughter is the best medicine. Hahaha... well, I suppose your tongue has become quite strong then too! ;)

Oh, yay! Thou mightst renounce thy miniony ways and becometh a monk shouldst another movie be made and the Monastery open for a fourth time? Another reason to hope for SC to be made!

'Tis possible, that's all I'm saying. ;) I haven't decided yet. And shall you remain in the Monastery once SC comes around?

You didn't steal it, you got it fair and square! Aw, thank you! And I see what you mean about kindred spirits!

Oh, okay then. :p Yes, I just love Anne of Green Gables!!

I know, it being the first made it doubly exciting and scary. Oh yes, I definitely want to do it next year! The problem is if I can wait!!
Yes, isn't it fun? Oh wait - I'm not doing any editing, and neither are you! oh well . .

Exactly! I totally can't wait for next year. I have an inkling of a plot so far, so I'm hoping to make good use of the months before November and actually come up with a plot. ;))
Oh, and you changed your avatar! I love it. :D

Ooh! I love peanut butter cookies! Especially when there's chocolate in them too.

Mmmm... those chocolate chip cookies were amazing! And heeeere are some for you! ;)

Yes I have! Though, it's been a while since I read them. "Wear pink - it confuses the enemy!" Best battle strategy ever, hehe.

Haha, yes! I loved that part. :P I want an invisible sword... ;)

Hopefully that was a little shorter this time... :p I tried to keep it as short as I could... but it still ended up long. /:) Oh well.

Good mortereve, everyone!

All the talk of 1938's Robin Hood film made me remember the first time I saw it. When I was about twelve or thirteen, I came downstairs early one morning and Dad, who was also an early riser, was watching it on TCM. I was able to catch the last half, and I was spellbound by it. I've practically lived at Turner Classic Movies ever since. ;)) Seeing that film was the beginning of a beautiful "friendship" with that channel :P, and brought about a lot of great times of seeing wonderful films with my family, especially my father. So it'll always have a special place in my heart. :)

Anyway. Couldn't resist that little excursion down memory lane. ;))

Now, see, here's somebody with taste! (Aka, mine. :p ;)) )

Oh, yay. :P

Wow, that was an obscure reference. Yes, she did. I think it was one of her first film roles. I ... actually didn't recognize her the first few times I watched that. Her acting style in MND is somewhat different from her other movies.

It is. I liked her in it, though. I thought it was probably one of the better performances in the film, although I've never read A Midsummer Night's Dream (save Edith Nesbit's Stories from Shakespeare, which I read as a child) or seen it on stage or any of the other film adaptations. So not exactly the best judge on that.

Probably all of them from me. Although there were others before me who mentioned her on the forums (e.g. wisewoman), I was pretty much the person who couldn't shut up about her books, and I'm glad the McKillip fandom has caught on so.

Busted! Yes, I haunt the Books thread and benefit marvelously from everybody's recommendations. ;)) Which of McKillip's stories are your favorites? I know she's written quite a few.

Beat that? oh you're on! I can beat that...Lets see...My Dad's side of the family are all Texans, and you can't beat that. As I have previously stated in former posts, Texas might be it's own world.....actually I said it was it's own planet. ;))

Oh, you Texans, you. :P Maybe your state could eat my little state for breakfast, but we have pork barbecue and the Barbecue Capital of the World! :P (Though my mother begs to differ on the exact location of it. =))) And we are a big supplier of sweet potatoes (yum! Sweet potato pie! :D/), and are also the birthplace of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Pepsi-Cola. Muahaha. :P Oh, and we have lots of shiny green rocks. And pine tar. :D

. . . Where am I? ;))

And on another note I'm related to Uncle Curly from the three stooges. He's my great uncle. :)

That is so cool. :-o

Ooh, I love talking about family trees and stuff. Let's see. I'm mostly Scotch (sadly, I don't think we have a shortbread cookie recipe?! :(( ;))), Irish, English and a little Welsh. As far as I know it, one of my great-great-great-great-great-et cetera grandfathers was Daniel Boone's brother, so I'm related to him. And there's a pretty good chance I'm distantly related to Sergeant Alvin C. York, who was one of the most decorated American soldiers of the first World War. Not sure about that, though. Need to ask my grandmother about that next time I talk to her!

Oooh, speaking of Sergeant York, a film by the same name is coming on sometime tomorrow (or into the wee hours of the morning of January 2nd, I can't remember) on Turner Classic Movies, and it's very good. I highly recommend it, if any of you can catch it on or record it. And I'm not saying that because I think I might be related to him. ;)) It won Gary Cooper his first Oscar.

*Waves to Ela* :-h

Perhaps. ;)) Or maybe dryads just aren't meant to be roller skaters. ;)

*Sticks fingers in ears and sings a scale* Lalalala! I refuse to believe it. :P ;))

I hath not been roller skating in a long time, but from what I recall, the wheels beneath such strange contraptions can cause one to lose their balance and fall. :P I much prefer ice skating myself, although I suppose the fact this Square seems to be lacking ice to skate on proves a difficult problem...

Oooh! I, too, love ice skating! :D Perhaps if the Square has a water hose, we can leave it running some cold night and have a skating rink to skate on in the morning! ;)

Oooh, a Pixar Club? I volunteer to bring the snacks! :D ;))

'Tis possible, that's all I'm saying. ;) I haven't decided yet. And shall you remain in the Monastery once SC comes around?

Oh yes! I love the cappuccino, manner of speaking and way of life too much to ever leave it, methinks. Besides, Ithilwen might die from triumph if I ever became a minion. =))

Oh, okay then. :p Yes, I just love Anne of Green Gables!!

Oh, I love the Anne of Green Gables, too! They're wonderful stories! :) Heehee, I think I knew you were a kindred spirit as soon as I found out that you love talking as much as I do. ;))

And with that, I shall bring this game of catchup to a close, but not before saying. . . .

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE, EVERYONE!

Oh, and you changed your avatar! I love it. :D

I know. I almost feel like just doing it in some upcoming month - but I will withhold myself. I'll enjoy it more if it's once a year. :) And besides, my family would rebel at me using the computer that much, so close to the last time! :p Yes, I kind of have a hint of the plot, but I'm trying not to think too much about it. Hopefully I'll have one this time, though. :)
Thank you!!

*waves to Rose* Hello! How are you doing?

I'm doing great! The holidays were really lovely and restful, and I'm excited about the new year! How are you? :)

I'll join in wishing you all a Happy New Year! Anyone doing something exciting tonight?

Um, I'm going to eat some cheese puffs. :D This may not sound too earth shattering, but I'm sort of health conscious and never let myself eat them, so this is a big deal for me. :)) We usually just stay at home for New Year's and eat some yummy food, watch a good movie, and count down as the ball drops on TV at midnight. Not too exciting, but plenty of fun! One of these days I'd love to go to a real New Year's party, though. (Provided they are serving cheese puffs. :P)

Hello! :) Thanks so much! She certainly is stunning!
How are you doing? What are some of your interests?

I'm great, and you? I love acting, Narnia (obviously), Lord of the Rings, writing stories (which I never finish :p ), reading the Narnia books...uh...doing my gollum voice...(I know, I'm weird! =)) )

Um, I'm going to eat some cheese puffs. :D

I like cheese puffs!

Oh yes! I love the cappuccino, manner of speaking and way of life too much to ever leave it, methinks. Besides, Ithilwen might die from triumph if I ever became a minion.

Ah, yes. The cappuccinos are a definite plus. Would you die from triumph if I became a monk? ;))

Oh, I love the Anne of Green Gables, too! They're wonderful stories! Heehee, I think I knew you were a kindred spirit as soon as I found out that you love talking as much as I do.

I know! I love the movies so much (well, except for the third one). Haha! Well, that works for me! I am blessed with the gift of gab, after all. ;)

I know. I almost feel like just doing it in some upcoming month - but I will withhold myself. I'll enjoy it more if it's once a year. And besides, my family would rebel at me using the computer that much, so close to the last time! Yes, I kind of have a hint of the plot, but I'm trying not to think too much about it. Hopefully I'll have one this time, though.
Thank you!!

Yes, we shall withhold ourselves. ;) I actually am still recovering from my writing frenzy, so I don't feel like attempting something like that again for a good long while. :p It was fun, but writing 5k+ every day can get tiresome after a while. ;))
Did you have a plot this previous NaNo, or did you just wing it? (I love winging it, most of the time.)

Anyone doing something exciting tonight?

Yes, actually. My uncle, aunt, and cousin are coming over and we'll probably play games, eat snacks, and watch a movie (provided we can find one that everyone likes - that's proving to be a problem). What are you doing?

Um, I'm going to eat some cheese puffs.

I like cheese puffs!

Actually, The Rose-Tree Dryad said that - but it's funny you should attribute that to me, because Rose and I almost had the same username. ;))

Makes sense to me... my family is careful about what we eat, so the holidays are rare occasions where we indulge in junk food. On the menu tonight is ice cream! Want some? *offers a bowl to Rose and the other Square Onions*

I love that movie!

"Alvin, ma wants ya." =))

"I didn't say anything." =))

And it's a great movie about his life! Glad to find another fan. We just watched it for the first time a few days ago!

Mountain Fire Flower, what do you mean about names?? :- Oh, wait...oops! I see now!

Good mortereve, all. How are y'all?
It's been so long since I've been here, I feel totally lost.

Only just caught a comment about being weird on the last page..........to quote our very own KK........."Weirdness is the normality of the world. Therefore, we're not weird, we're what normal should be." :p

I really haven't much to say tonight.......at work, waiting for a call. Procrastinating on doing station duties.

MountainFireflower, In response to this post on pg 52 (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1685&start=816#p128194) I'm currently reading them in "chronological" order. I highly recommend doing it. I've noticed a lot of things I didn't notice before.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this but, I finished HHB and started PC!!! I believe I'm on Chapter 4 or 5.

Also The Space Trilogy books came in (at the same time thanks goodness #:-s ) and I'm on Chapter two of Out of the Silent Planet :D !!!

Wow I got left in the dust (3 pgs of unread posts! :-o ) well I suppose I'll just have to wave to everyone.

*waves*

Sorry I've been away. I've been at my freinds house since yesterday, and the day before I was with my dad at the garage.

So any New Years plans? I'm not doing anything except reading and chatting, which is good because I've been so busy, that I was starting to feel a bit homesick :P So yeah, much needed peace and quiet for me :D

Wow... looks like a lot went on in here while I was gone... about 4 pages! :-o

Catchup --

As for presents, I got a new hat, a new watch, The Music of The Lord of the Rings book...

Oh, I've heard of that. What is it like/about? A book about music sounds different...

I've also been playing around with some photography stuff. If any of y'all have any tips then I'd be more than happy to listen. I am not that great at it yet, but love to explore with it. Tonight I was trying to do some time exposure stuff. It's pretty amazing to see what all one can do with some very simple props.

Ooh, I love photography! I don't know if I'd be able to help you with anything, but if you ever have any questions, you could try asking me. ;)

Ok I'll end this long ramble seeing as how most people probably don't care what I've been doing, have done, and will do. It is good to see some members who've been here a while (didn't want to say "older" for fear someone might take offence to it), as well as some newer members.

Oh, we do too want to hear it! :D That's the whole point of this board, I believe, is getting to know eachother, and hearing how eachother's day went. :)

You're reading Inkspell, Silver? I read that several months ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. I still need to get around to the next book, though.

Ooh, you know, I've always wanted to read those books! I plan to rent them from the library soon.... After I finish The Two Towers... and Return of the King... and The Silmarillion.... *sigh* and Jane Eyre. :-s

I was disappointed with VTD, too, Riella. I wasn't expecting anything else though. I thought some parts were right on (the beginning and end, for instance), but as for the other 80% of the movie... The green mist was stupid. Ramandu's daughter was cheesy. And was I the only one who didn't like Lucy? Anyway. We'll see what happens. I'm not sure if I want another movie to be made if this is what will happen to it.
On the positive note, however, I thought Eustace and Reepicheep were both brilliant.

Yeah, I didn't think georgie did as good a job of acting in this one. :-o Now, that's surprising. And the whole green mist/seven swords thing was completely unneccesary (SP?). I loved Eustace! Reep... not so much... :((

New Years resolutions? Hm. I'm thinking of stealing several of yours. I'm sure I could come up with a few, I just haven't put them into list-form yet.

Oh wow, I totally forgot all about New Years resolutions! I haven't made them in so long...

It's in the sixties? Man. It's twenty-five here.

Yeah, it's like... in the 30s here. And I'm in Sunny CA! :-o

*wave jovially to Melian_Mia,Riella, Shastafan, and Queen S* How are you all doing?

I'm doing well! And yourself?

I messed up one wall in painting, so C.S. has told me just to stay around and paint sea shells or something on the finished walls while she does the rest.

C.S.? Like C.S. Lewis? LOL JK. So, are you painting a wall just regularly? Or is this like a mural?

Young Adult fantasy! Your classic "teen hero runs away, meets some friends, and has to save a bunch of people" story. The problem is forcing myself to sit down and work on it. *sigh*

I write Young Adult Fantasy too! What a coincidence! :D (But then maybe it isn't such a coincidence considering we are both on a website for a fantasy series, lol)

Haha! I really want to see the BBC versions! I've heard so much about them, but I've never seen them. Hmmm... *wonders where I might be able to find a copy*

You can actually watch the whole thing on Youtube. I was watching it on there a few months back. ;)

Which is your favourite Pixar?

I love Monsters, Inc.! And I'm totally excited about MI2 as well! I hope it's as good as the first. :)

I have The Space Trilogy that was given to me by a friend of a family. It's an older set, but I like it. I just haven't picked them up yet. How are they?

Well, it's hard to say, because I've only read one chapter of the first book. That was just okay. I would need to read more of it to tell. Right now, I'm busy reading other books. Namely LOTR. ;)

Ithilwen still harbors the belief that someday I'll become one of the Spoiled Rotten and thus calls me Villain-to-Be, but don't pay attention to her. She's delusional.

"Villian-to-Be?" Clever, clever. (I'll keep your warning of Ithilwen in mind.)

Oh no, you don't have to beware of me. I'm not up to anything sinister. Really... ;;) ...

I was wondering if they'll make Polly and Digory teens or something as well...?

Hmm... not sure I would like that. I've always pictured them as children. Although, if they were older, that would give me a chance at auditioning as Polly... Meh, but they'll probably pick someone from England anyway, just like the "Jill Pole" article said. :(

*waves back* Yes, I used to be Eustace+Jill. Thankfully, I was allowed to change it to Ithilwen instead. And yes, you can certainly call me Riella.

lol, thankfully? ;)) And where does the name Ithilwen come from, if I may ask? :)

Yup, thankfully! LOL (My username was causing some problems. :|
Ithilwen is from LOTR, actually. It's the Elvish word for moon. :)

I adore acting and can do a pretty mean Smeagol/Gollum accent, if I do day so myself.

I so want to hear you do that! Do you mean just the accent, or the voice as well? Haha, I'm always copying the British accent Smeagol has in front of my mom, and then she tries to do it too. I can't really do the voice though. Well... I can do something that's kinda like it, but not quite. It's actually more like a "Stitch" voice.

Okay, I think I answered everyone... If I left someone out, know that I did not do it on purpose! LOL

Happy New Year, everyone! See you in 2011! :D

Happy New Year, everyone! :D

I meant to do a catch up, but the Square has started progressing at pretty fast clip again, and I don't even remember how far behind my post is. Instead, I thought I would offer my thoughts on a few of the subjects currently being discussed. ;;)

Pixar: Like most of you, I quite enjoy Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles. I also rather like Ratatouilleand Up; Finding Nemo and Cars are also pretty good (the setting of the latter feels pretty familiar, in a way, to me). I am unable to offer an opinion on Wall-E and Toy Story 3, and I remain unchanged in my opinion of Toy Story and Toy Story 2. ;)

HTTYD: I finally saw this a few weeks and liked it pretty well. The story itself was kind of tired, but the characters and setting were fun. I'm still trying to get my head around the Scottish Vikings, though. :- ;))

VoDT: While I didn't loathe it like I did PC, I'm not entirely sure I liked it. It had it's moments, but still, all the stuff they added! I'd be open to watching it again on DVD, but I'm not in a terrible rush.

...And I know there was more, but I just went and forgot it. I should probably head off, then, and maybe try to talk to you all later.

*sends waves and greetings* to Betsie, Flam, Djaq, lys, Jo, ~LL~, GtG, Ata, Ti'ana, PC004 & Vern, Lady A & KingLune, Mel, gazer, Jo, DtR, Ithilwen, Aslans Country, Elanor, Mountie, Fanny, Kat, PA, stardf, wolfloversk, Lucy of Narnia, The Rose-Tree Dryad, JoJo, Kk, DoM, Silver the Wanderer, Bella, C.S.LN, MA, NN95, Queen Susan, Miss Rose, Liberty, Shastafan, Benjamin, malkah, EsmereldaBroadbelt, Melian_Maia, georgiefan1, Sonny, electra, dotk, Ruby, Winter, cep, and all the other Square Onions!
