Hmm, not a bad idea for armor, Mel... but, all the same, I'll stick with my trusty sword and shield. *Backs away sloooooowly* ...Wait, I don't have a shield. (Where's my paladin character when I need her?!) Marshmallow capes... but we've had a mod who died by jello drowning.... *Backs away less slooooooowly*

Yes... I'm going to stay in this nice, safe, corner of the Town Square, and stay there until all this blows over....

Hey, anyone want to play a game of Mafia? ;)

Do you think we're down a rabbit hole now, The Rose-Tree Dryad? ;))

Very much! Six feet down, to be precise. :-s :|

*carefully watches the shadows of the Square for any suspicious figures, and realizes that, out of all of her Be Prepardness packing, she forgot to bring a suitable weapon for self-defense*

Oh dear.

*rummages around in the Great Big Duffel Bag of Be Prepardness*

... I suppose my pogostick will have to do.

Edit: GASP! Willow guessed who the killer was! :-o

That's actually sort of fun.

Good mortereve everyone! I see you all have managed to elude the horrible person who didn't even have the courtesy to wait until after I finished my book to murder me. And have apparently found out who it was too! I never though jo would be capable of doing such a dastardly deed.

Well, it has been many an age since I last visited this place. Or perhaps not quite that long. Time is rather confusing when you're a ghost. A Fellow Transparent Person mentioned that a read-a-loud might be happening here. Would anyone perchance have the time to help a bibliophile in need? It's very difficult to turn pages that you can't even touch! The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson is exceptionally long, but I simply must know what happens to the men of Bridge Four. Also, I feel very much like a spren at the moment. . .

No matter if you don't have the time though, as I see a few people are attempting to solve clues elsewhere. I have all the time in the world now.

Good mortereve, one and all.

April Fools' Day is drawing to a close, and it is time for confession of all pranks to be made. I, too, have a confession to make... and although that which I confess was not intended as an April Fools' prank, this seems as good a time as any to come clean.

I am not actually new to Narniaweb. I've merely been away from the forum for a very long time. When I decided to rejoin a few days ago, I chose to make a fresh start with a new user name instead of importing my former name from the old forum. I've very much enjoyed seeing the place through fresh eyes and being greeted as a newcomer.

But over the years I have remained Facebook friends with many of you, and have attended quite a number of Moots and Line Parties to meet you in person. I realized that interacting incognito with people I know quite well might, in the long run, create hard feelings, and so it's time to 'fess up. (Although it has occurred to me that the mods may have already guessed my secret through the magic of IP tracing!)

So who am I?

It was I who coined the term "Good mortereve."

It was I who helped mod Ditto Town in the pre-chat-room days.

It was I who introduced Abraham Lincoln the Cricket to Ditto Town Square one very quiet evening.

It was I who suggested creating moderated role play threads and Ditto Town Hosts.

It was I who developed Tara Brecker's character in the Inn Between.

It was I who served as Reading Group Leader for the forum's first reading of The Magician's Nephew.

It was I who founded the Order of the Pilgrims of the Middle Way of Serendipity.

I am the Narniawebber formerly known as BERNINBUSH

You can call me Willow if you want to.

...I'm dead, and that is STILL the most flooring thing I have heard all day. Month. Year. WOW. Willow/BB, I have missed you so much!!!! *Tackle-hug* No wonder Abe has been gracing the town so much lately! :)

I'm... I'm sorry, but I'm just in too much shock to say anything other than....

Suspicions vindicated! Your posts (particularly today's) indicated that you had once lurked in these studied halls. You fit in too well. I haven't been on here for very long, so wouldn't have had a clue as to your identity, but I wondered....
Funny, too; I've just been going through the archived reading groups on the old site, and greatly enjoying it.

Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away ... my days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle

That is the coolest post I have ever seen on this forum, Willow. Ever. And that is saying something. :-o I got chills reading it. ;))

It's funny, because I could kind of tell that you knew more about NW than the average newbie, but I just assumed that you had been lurking on the forum for a long time and that's why you seemed to know all the ropes, since that was my story. I had lurked for almost five years before joining in 2010. I remember your old username and seeing you on the old forum!

And gosh, I feel like I owe you some major thanks for suggesting that they start roleplays here in Ditto Town. ^:)^ That suggestion contributed to the enduring entertainment and happiness of a lot of people!

It's been great getting to know you and I really hope you stick around these parts! You're a lot of fun! (And really good at decoding messages! ;)))

EDIT:

Oh, and welcome to the Town Square, aileth! Good to see you! *hands you some chocolate picked fresh from the Chocolate Tree* There's always lots of wonderful conversation to be had around here, and plenty of sweets, too! :D

Oh, thanks Rose. I'll take any kind of chocolate available, even that awful 99% cocoa kind (if there's nothing else).

These first days of a new quarter seem quite dangerous about here. Do disembodied mods fly around here very often? I certainly seem to get pulled in deeper and deeper - first it was the Discussion forums, now the Community ones. Oh well, you're right - the food is pretty good (and the talk). Suppose I can stand it :)

*sees a commotion on Facebook*

*pokes her head in to wave at the illustrious Willow, once known as BERNINBUSH* This lady once endured an entire evening of overheated car in downtown Atlanta Georgia with me. That was fun, well, it's a fun memory anyways, it wasn't fun at the time. :) But she's very level and a good friend to have in a pinch.

I'm afraid beyond Rya and Jo, I don't know many people here these days, and I don't expect I shall be back any time soon. This flat of Kale won't plant itself... Not that I could plant it at 1 am anyhow. Sleep might be the better activity for the hour.

Happy April to everyone here whether you're known or not though! May this spring have the best flowers yet, or if you're not into green things, at least have the best books you've ever read.

An aside question... is the Ditto Story dead? Nobody's posted in almost a year. :(

aileth, while unexpected deaths of mods and characters are expected on April Fool's Day, it's not common the rest of the year 'round. ;)) Though, quite a bit of oddness can be found in Ditto Town; part of its charm. ;) :) But, welcome to NarniaWeb! :) I hope our April Fool's Day romp was more fun than frightening. :) ;))

Aravanna!!! :D Oh... you're not planning on staying? Are you sure? (*shoves away ball and chain with her foot* ;) ) I'm sure the gardens around Ditto Town could use some TLC, too... ;;)

(As for the Ditto Story, stargazer posted in it today--and for once, he didn't kill anyone doing it! :P I'm hoping to getting back to posting in it regularly, though... I have some ideas to discuss in the Library sometime soon....)

WELCOME BACK!!!!!

Thank you! :)

Suspicions vindicated! Your posts (particularly today's) indicated that you had once lurked in these studied halls. You fit in too well.

Yep, that was one major problem to remaining incognito. :D Hard to "play dumb" and still fully participate. Also, hard to give any kind of personal details in conversation without giving yourself away when half the mods have followed you on Facebook for years.

I feel like I owe you some major thanks for suggesting that they start roleplays here in Ditto Town. ^:)^ That suggestion contributed to the enduring entertainment and happiness of a lot of people!

You're very welcome! Although I confess there was a bit of authorial snobbery in the suggestion. I used to be an avid participator in the Inn Between, and "role play style" posts kept breaking out there... I suggested giving the role-players their own space so they would go away and leave us alone. ;) I never actually participated in the role play threads myself. But I can certainly see they have maintained their popularity!

And it's been nice getting to know you too. Wow, five years is a long time to lurk! I didn't know you haunted these halls when I was here before.

This lady once endured an entire evening of overheated car in downtown Atlanta Georgia with me. That was fun, well, it's a fun memory anyways, it wasn't fun at the time. :) But she's very level and a good friend to have in a pinch.

Aww, I had fun that night. :D Good memories. Good to see you!!

Hey leuth. :D Maybe we should have a reunion party or something.

*pokes head back in* Rya, I've been so insanely busy that I've barely done much more than lurk. I've been working on my certification as a horseback riding instructor and I finally got it.

Howdy Aravanna and YouWillFindMeBigger. Welcome back to both of y'all.

Reunion parties are good.

Whew, it's nice to be back to normal again. Kudos to all our hard-working members for solving the mystery, and to those who worked hard to set it all up.

(And I can return to my groundhog avatar just in time. We expect 6-12 inches of April snow here over the next few days).

It's like old times here! Welcome back to leuth and Aravanna. Glad you all stopped by.

And Willow! What a pleasant surprise to learn your old identity. Welcome back! :)

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
