... Can't believe the difference between homespun honey vs. what you buy in the stores.

Been getting honey from local friend/coworker. Amazing stuff, indeed.

Aahhh, cep, that scenery. Wildly gorgeous! And say, how is Gorse?!

stargazer! I ditto your homey thoughts. I hope you can get out in the enjoyment of apple orchards and campfires for some glorious stargazing this time of year. Truly, 'tis the ideal season for watching the night sky, and for being out-of-doors in the crisp, fresh autumnal temperatures. ♄

We're currently spinning out honey over here! It smells AWESOME! Can't believe the difference between homespun honey vs. what you buy in the stores. :D Should keep us going through the winter.

:D :D :D

Wishing y'all a good Sunday. It's a very dark and rainy day here. Beautifully autumn in that sense! A bit warm, but that should break tonight. B-)

And say, how is Gorse?!

Gorse is doing very well, if I may say. While Gorse is not able to leave Dittopia, the properties of that universe allow for us to converse through almost any mirror. Can appreciate the words he has for me. Need to be careful, however, as it is difficult to explain the black furred, three foot tall, one-eyed, talking flying squirrel in the mirror.

Can appreciate the sense of autumn. Not difference here other than the cooling off at night and nice temperatures during the day.

George's warren is thriving at the old fire station. Just got a report this morning from one of my coworkers there that also works here at the Canyon.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

*a familiar figure strolls into the square with a whirlwind of autumn leaves* Sorry, I like the dramatic entrance...

Mortereve! It's so good to see Jo, Cep, Fantasia, Gazer, Cor, Digs, and I think Kingskid was on the previous page! (should I have ended that with a question mark?)

I have a lot going on, due to school. Narniaweb is never far from my thoughts, though, wherever I may be.

Fantasia, homespun honey? I can just imagine how wonderful the smell is. I have had the pleasure of experiencing that once. Do you eat some of the honeycomb? During my homespun honey experience ;)), the guy who was making the honey gave me some of the honeycomb on bread. It was delicious!

Truly, 'tis the ideal season for watching the night sky, and for being out-of-doors in the crisp, fresh autumnal temperatures. ♄

Ohh, indeed!! This weather is just perfect. I love how the leaves have started to change now (and how gradually it happens! One week passes by, and suddenly everything looks different.), and how sweaters and cider are making their appearances. I think the "most wonderful time of the year" starts now. :D

I have disappeared from the garden thread due to college whisking me away at the peak of the gardening season, but my garden was marvelous! I realized my dream of eating a tomato from my garden--a nice, plummy, pink heirloom tomato! I had quite a few, and they were delicious.

*wanders around with a cup of cider and a doughnut in hand and looks to see if the sky is clear tonight in the Square* You know, we should have an autumn tree--one that is the shade of autumn leaves year-round and that produces mugs of cider, doughnuts, and other autumnal treats.

Good mortereve, everyone! It's been a really long time, hasn't it? Oh gosh. :-o I miss this place.

I'm not sure who remembers me and who doesn't, but the name's Silver/Sil/Silvy/StW etc. *bows* Let's see, what's happened since I went on hiatus? I'm in my second year of university studying Art/Design and most likely English too. So between papers and projects, I've been super busy and sleep-deprived as of late. #:-s It's almost our fall break however, so I only have a hold out a few days longer before I'll have a short breather.

Great to see you guys are doing well, at any rate. The news about SC is exciting, isn't it? :D/ <----I've also really missed this dancing smiley.

Did somebody say hot cider? Don't mind if I do. *cradles mug between hands and takes a sip* Yummy. I love fall. :)

How is everyone?

*waves frantically to Silver (whom I remember well ;) ) I've been busy with school as well... Senior year of college... and I'm just praying that I get into grad school... tis a very confusing process- applying and all... and it's been stressing me out quite a bit, but I've been well overall.

Nice to see you again, Silver! (And you too, wolfloversk).

I'm glad to hear Gorse is doing well, ceppault. He might be glad to hear that his old friend Erik is okay too - despite some of the cruel things I've done to him and his family in the Ditto Story and recent NaNo musings.

Speaking of which...autumn colors are here so NaNo can't be too far behind. Time to start thinking about this year's stories! :)

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

When I was in college, I did NaNo by cheating--mainly, setting word goals that corresponded with my schedule and/or doing it during the summer. :P I don't think I've once done it the right way. It's not as satisfying, but I found it to be a nice substitute. :)

Wow, so many names I haven't seen in quite some time!! :) *Waves to Cor, Cep, and fantasia* Silver, I'm not sure if we've met (I've only been on occasionally since college started ), but regardless, lovely to see/meet you! :) Good luck with these last few days before fall break; you can do it!! :)

Anyways, about the big story on everyone's mind.... ;) Honestly, the news about a The Silver Chair movie seems so surreal to me now. I'd gotten so used to the idea of no new Narnia movies for 7 years or so, I'm having a hard time convincing myself that this is happening. :P :) Maybe it'll seem more real after we hear some more details. Regardless, the part of me that recognizes it's happening is excited. :P

Well, my mom got a bunch of apples from our boss (he has his own apple orchard), so I have plenty of apple based treats for everyone! ;) :) *Brings out apple cider, applesauce, apple tarts....* :D Have I mentioned how much I love fall? ;) :)

Cheating on NaNo, Rya? I think there's some flexibility...they just call you a 'rebel' if you don't go along with the requirements.

Oftentimes I get NaNo (or other writing inspiration) while out and about, and yesterday was no exception.

It was a glorious autumn day here, clear, cool and crisp. What better way to spend it than out-of-doors, driving down the Mississippi River valley looking at the fall colors? I wasn't alone in this; there was a lot of traffic along the scenic byways.

I made a stop at a couple of apple orchards along the way, buying a few sweet treats for dessert and some SweeTango apples (a relatively new cultivar from the University of Minnesota). They are very good!

The day ended with a lengthy campfire at a state park atop a bluff overlooking the river valley; again a lot of people had the same idea. But by dusk (which is coming earlier and earlier each day now), the crowds departed (and one family even added to my wood pile by giving me their surplus).

The Moon was big and bright, lighting up the picnic ground after dark, making for a very pleasant evening. While stargazing and fire tending I enjoyed a couple of those treats I'd obtained earlier.

Lots of rain is in the forecast for the next few days, so I'm glad I got this trip in when I did.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Well, then I've been a NaNo Rebel several times over. :P I hope to change that some year, though probably not this year (I have no ideas right now :( ).

Ooh, sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. :P I wish we'd done ours a day sooner. :| My mom, sister, sister's best friend and I (plus my nephew! :P ) went on that trip I mentioned a few pages ago today, and of course it was cloudy/rainy the entire time. :| But at least it was just cloudy when we were out walking, and the weather didn't affect the beautiful colors! :) But boy, is it beginning to feel like fall--definitely jacket weather nowadays. :P :D

Well, this weekend has sure been interesting. Friday night, we had a party to celebrate my older brother's 25th birthday, which was fun... but when I went to bed that night, I started to feel a slight cold coming on. Cue the next morning, when I overslept and didn't realize until I got to work that I really should've called in sick. Thankfully, it was short, and I was pretty much over it by Monday, though that recovery was aided by basically doing nothing but watch TV Saturday night through Sunday Night. :P :| Hopefully, that was my big cold for the winter (since I usually catch at least one...).

I will pick some up in a few days. Acquired some of the Honey Crisps, and they simply are not as good as the batch I had last year. This round available is going by Honey Crisp Euro; just not like the originals.

*waves back at Rya* *waves hi to everybody*

I rarely buy apples anymore unless I'm cooking a pie or something. :( Every once in a long while I'll find a good one, but the ones we get around here were picked green and lack flavor. I've always heard about the awesomeness of Honeycrisp apples, but when I've bought them, they're overpriced and bland. So I stick with the occasional Fujis, Galas, or Golden Delicious. But lately what I've been going crazy over are the pears. =p~

How cool is that?!

Uh, yeah, not many would understand that ... except probably NarniaWebbers. ;))

Good to hear of George's warren doing well. Somehow I feel a kind of attachment to that place. ;))

*a familiar figure strolls into the square with a whirlwind of autumn leaves*

Love it! :D

And, a hearty shout-out to the two newest mods, both of whom are Square Onions: Bella and Ryadian! Woohoo! :D/

Honeycomb. My dad adores the stuff! I do not think I have ever tried it. Or if I did, it didn't stick in my mind (or tummy, lol). :P

I think the "most wonderful time of the year" starts now.

Ditto. DITTO! :x

but my garden was marvelous! I realized my dream of eating a tomato from my garden--a nice, plummy, pink heirloom tomato!

:D :D :D Are your plants still producing tomatoes, Bella? Ours are, but the ripening is definitely slowing down with the cooler weather now. Hoping to bring in as many green ones as I can before the first frost, probably not too long away.

You know, we should have an autumn tree--one that is the shade of autumn leaves year-round and that produces mugs of cider, doughnuts, and other autumnal treats.

I'm totally with you here! B-) Can we also make a machine that enables the temperature to be consistently autumn-like? ;;)

Great to see you guys are doing well, at any rate. The news about SC is exciting, isn't it? :D/ <----I've also really missed this dancing smiley.

Wow, 'tis wonderful to see you here again, Silver! :D Yes, 'tis quite the news about SC! And ditto to the dancing smiley: my other favourite is ;)). I hope you had a nice fall break and guess you are back into the thick of it again. All the best with your courses!

*snags a piece of wolfy's apple pie* Mmmmm! Wow, you're applying to grad school?!! Time flies. All the best with that. Very cool. Do you hope to stay in-State? Still with a zoology focus?

Apple-based treats from your boss' own orchard, Rya, awesome! :D Don't mind if I do help myself. ;))

*adds her appreciative kudos to the autumn season* :x

stargazer
, your outdoors adventure sounds so lovely! What puzzles me, though, is why people leave at dusk. Some of the best time of the day/night is about to arrive. Maybe if they have young ones, though, it would get too late.

Oooh, SweeTango apples. We have them in our stores again this year, and whilst I like them very much, I enjoy honeycrisp (despite the price :P) more. I could eat those until I turn round and red like an apple myself. :))

Apples are a staple in our house. There are dozens upon dozens of orchard just north of town, so they're readily available for many months. *drools* Oh, 'scuse me. :p

Glad you're feeling better now, Rya. The first cold of the season can be nasty. Maybe because it's such a shock after not having been in sicky season for so long. ;))

Ahh, pears are tasty, fantasia. What type is your favourite? Our best pears are in pear season (makes sense, eh? ;))). Bosc. And as we are close to the fertile Niagara region, there is no lack as long as those trees produce. Nellie, especially, loves 'em. Dennis' mom used to make pear pies since he grew up with pear (and cherry and peach) trees on their property. So, as I slip out of the Square, I leave ... a pear pie for all to enjoy. :D (They taste very similar to an apple pie.)

Hopefully! :) Lots of good things in NarniaWeb's future at the moment. :)

Thanks, Jo! :) Yeah, this week turned around from "blegh I don't want to get out of bed don't make me" (thank goodness for fast recovery!) to "BEST WEEK EVER". :D Both because I got to join the Mod Squad (excuse me while I run around the house a few times ;) ), but also because I got to see a good friend of mine last night, who I haven't seen since sometime this Spring (!!). Now, if only the weather would cooperate and stop raining constantly. :P

As it turns out, I may do NaNoWriMo this year after all. :) For some reason, I started thinking about an old story I wrote when I was 14-15 years old, and I realized that, with some tweaking, I might actually make it decent. :P And even if I don't, well, it's something to write for this year! :)
