Well I just had to pop in, seeing as how the Square got a new name. For a while I was like, "what is happening? so many Gamgee's running around and The Green Dragon, Hobbiton, "Reading Group: The Hobbit"..." Then the date dawns on me :p
I actually like the feel of this Hobbit-like place, instead of just the 1st how about all of April? I mean I still like Narnia but a change is very nice indeed!

Don't have time to read past posts but I do hope all is going well for you all.
I am doing well and hopefully I can come in soon and tell in more detail what is happening nowadays for me.

And seeing as how I'm in here already would like to drop off a great quote:
“He is no fool to give what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose”

-Jim Elliot

Well goodnight all and have a wonderful Mortereve!
May God bless you all greatly!

Date? What are you talking about? Of course HobbitWeb will be around for the month of April and many Aprils to come. We must embrace the new age.

So do I! For an Elf of Middle-earth, recently moved to Ditto Town, this is almost like home :)

Hello, dear lady. I'm glad you like it here.

And my mommy is right - this is the new age! Just right for us hobbits and others of Middle-earth.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

My goodness! Such fine weather here!! I forgot how perfectly delightful the spring season is in Ditto town.

*spots an unfamiliar elf in the Square and waves to Varnafinde*

I always love to see folk heralding from Middle Earth! My name's Ruby. I'm a hobbit, if you couldn't tell. You know, 11th child and youngest daughter of the famous Samwise Gamgee. You've probably heard of him. Anywho, very nice to meet you!

I'm so sad I missed April Fool's on NarniaWeb. It's always so entertaining to see what mischief the mods come up with on the forum. Was NarniaWeb turned into HobbitWeb then? :P How funny. As much as I love NarniaWeb, HobbitWeb doesn't sound so bad. I'm a little giddy with anticipation myself over the upcoming movie that's going to make all of us hobbits (and dwarves) rather famous. :D

Before I leave, I must bestow some exciting news on you all concerning myself! So I think I told you all about my piano audition this last March. Well, I played at my audition...and I was accepted to the university!!! I was accepted fully as a piano music education major and provisionally as a piano performance major. :) And I also received a scholarship grant on top of all that. Who knew I'd be going to college? But I guess I am, praise God! He's been providing me with opportunities, work, and money and making all this happen. I feel like I'm sitting back and spectating his handiwork, which isn't such a bad place to be I guess.

On top of that, I have a prayer request as well. My right wrist has been hurting and my right shoulder and entire right arm really has felt really achy and strained this last weekend. My joints are always really creaky and horrible, so this isn't that unusual...except that the pain seems to be getting worse not better. My right hand has spasms where it just throbs and we're going to the doctor at some point to figure out if anything's seriously wrong with it. Please pray that nothing too horrible is wrong and that whatever it is, I can recover quickly!! :)

One last thing...CAN YOU ALL BELIEVE THAT THERE'S ONLY LIKE THREE WEEKS LEFT BEFORE SUMMER??!! Three weeks and I am D-O-N-E with high school forever. Whoot!

*waves to everyone else occupying the Square*

I will see you lovely folks later!

*The hobbit cheerily disappears into her hobbit hole once again*

HobbitWeb was lots of fun, Ruby. You would have fit right in with all the hobbits that day - not only your parents Samwise and Rosie, but your older sisters Elanor and Daisy stopped by for a visit. They too were excited about the upcoming movie.

Congrats on your acceptance and scholarship to university! Best wishes for your college career.

Summer? Did you say summer? Whatever happened to winter? ;)

Yes, I guess I would be an unfamiliar face - I hardly ever walk into the Town Square, I stick almost entirely to the Ditto Story (although I don't know if I can bear the latest tragedy over there :-s ).

You know, 11th child and youngest daughter of the famous Samwise Gamgee. You've probably heard of him. Anywho, very nice to meet you!

Of course I've heard of him! I've even met him! :) I used to live at Rivendell, so I met him at the time when he and his other hobbit friends stayed with us before going on that famous quest to destroy the infamous Ring. Very nice to meet you, too!

I only wish I had discovered HobbitWeb earlier in the day - I missed so much of it, and was hardly able to participate. Next year, I really should log in earlier to see what is going on.

I do read the Tolkien thread in the Spare Oom, of course :)

My most exciting news is a job interview this coming Tuesday. I work part-time, and now there's another part-time job coming up, so I might combine the two. If I get this one, that is ...

*Enna walks into the town square bare-footed because the weather is so delectably springish. She meanders over to the rim of the fountain, clambers up onto it, and begins walking around on said rim, letting the cool sprays of water dampen her sun-warmed self. As she paces 'round the fountain in this fashion she begins to sing a little song, nothing too important, mind you, just a tune that's stuck in her head from when she listened to it last night (Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson). After a few times around she settles her self into a sitting position and begins to list off the going on around her life.*

Hello, everyone!
I'm Elaina *jabs her thumb towards her torso* (though people usually call me Enna or Aravis... or Ara). I guess most of you already know pretty much who I am due to the fact that most of you either know me on chat or via the Ditto Town Library and The Ditto Story so I won't bore you with any long introductions.
I'm going to warn you right off that I have a terrible tendency for rambling, but I shall try, for all our sakes, to keep it to as much of a minimum as I possibly can. And when I try hard at not rambling I usually fare pretty well... except in E-mails... I just can't help rambling when I'm writing E-mails. It's like a letter, you know?

I'm with Varna in that I missed much of the excitement of Hobbitweb due to the fact that I was at the beach :D (and you wish that you were too :p ) But what I did see of it was hilariously splendid and, um... hobbittown-ish? Yeah, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to find the right word. I did happen by the "Who's Who of Hobbitweb" yesterday, so I had the pleasure of figuring out who was behind it all (Cor, I guessed every one except you being Gen... that was odd) and most everyone else I didn't guess. Other than the names and the titles of forums, I didn't really have a chance to see what went on.

Well, I would have more to say here, but it's 9:04am my time and past time for getting something truly productive done so I'll be heading out. Maybe I'll meddle my way online again sometime later in the day.

Good Mortereve, all! And I hope that your spring goes splendidly!

Ruby, that's wonderful news about your university acceptance. I majored in piano performance, and I well remember my audition day. Nerve-wracking! I'm so glad you're heading in this direction. :D

How is your wrist/shoulder/arm feeling? Have you been able to get to the doctor's yet?

Summer? Did you say summer? Whatever happened to winter? ;)

No kidding! ;))

Varnafinde, great to see you in the Square again. I hope your interview goes very well on Tuesday! Keep us posted. :)

Hi there, Enna/Aravis, nice to see you here too. So, how was the beach on April Fool's Day? ;))

Just popping by to wish y'all a lovely and meaningful Easter weekend.

Christ is risen;
He is risen indeed!

And on a much more surface note, a chocolate wreath for all ye SquareOnions. :D
I really should poke Lady Amalthea about this. ;))

But, personally, my ultimate favourite are ... Mini Eggs ♥ straight out of the fridge. :x

CHOCOLATE!!! In a lovely wreath form. Did you make it with trimmings from the chocolate tree? BTW, Miss Jo, I am quite fond of the Cadbury Bird Eggs as well- and they look so real!

Alas, I must scoot. So much to do in so little time. *sigh* I do wish I could linger a bit more and visit with friends that I haven't seen in an inordinately long time, but it is not to be.

*Lady Amalthea heads back to Anvard - after a "brief" visit to the chocolate tree... which is now noticeably pruned*
:D ;) :| :D

Oh, and big chocolatey hugs to Jo... and Stargazer... and Miss Rosario... and Prince Cor.... and especially that Dragon of Dragons: Vern.

King Lune, here's a double for you: ;;) ;;)

Good mortereve, all! Happy Easter weekend! :)

First of all, I want to congratulate all the mods on the magnificent April Fool's Day this year. It was very fun and memorable, if a tad chaotic. (As wonderful as NarniaWeb is, HobbitWeb doesn't sound that bad.) ;)) I feel quite sorry for the real new members who joined on April 1, though. Eep, talk about confusion.

Wow, congratulations on your acceptance to college, Ruby! How exciting!
And yes, I will you keep you in my prayers. I know how annoying it can be to have a wrist that doesn't want to function. 8-|

*waves to Varnafinde (whoops, spelled out "Varnafiend" at first )* I hope your job interview goes well!

Hullo there, Elaina - welcome to the Town Square! It's nice to meet you.

Do any of you have special plans this weekend? Our town hosts an annual Passion Play which I'm looking forward to, and my school orchestra and choir just finished performing the Seven Last Words of Christ (along with several other short pieces.... including the Lord's Prayer) a few hours ago. It was a fairly uneventful performance, though the fifth movement was a minor disaster. ;)) The choir sped up faster and faster and the strings couldn't keep up. But apparently the audience couldn't tell that anything was wrong, so all was well. ;))

*helps herself to some of Louise's chocolates*

EDIT: Lady A, it's good to see your face in here! *sends a big, chocolatey hug back in return*

Ah back to Narnia, well the Hobbitish stuff was definitely fun while it lasted
*grabs some chocolate and sits down on a nearby bench to check on the goings on since his last visit*

I hope that, even though HobbitWeb was short lived you will still enjoy Narnia Varnafinde. And I'm sure you would love visiting with the Dryads and Naiads seeing as how you are an elf, a most honorable race.

*waves to Danielle* Hello! I trust you are doing well, other than that wrist and shoulder of yours which I shall be praying for. May you have a blessed 2-3 weeks that are remaining of your high school days. And congratulations on the scholarship!

Welcome to The Square Elaina. Hope you enjoy it round here.

You majored in piano Jo? Did not know this about you. Do you still play much anymore?

*waves to Lady A and Miss Rose*

And as for me, I have been doing pretty good.
A week from yesterday (Friday) I went mountain biking with my older brother, which was a blast! Some of you who know where I live must be thinking what I was "where do you go mountain biking in Florida?!". Well there is actually a beautiful place up in the Ocala National Forest area, that just does not look like the Florida I have known. Anyway biking was great fun, I did get banged up some when I tried a little bigger jump then I should've at the moment but it was still a blast.

Going to head off now, may you all have a wonderful Mortereve, and may God bless you all!

Oh I definitely enjoy Narnia! You see, I was born there. Three hundred years before the events that are recorded in The Lord of the Rings, my parents stumbled through a portal between Middle-earth and Narnia, and I was born a few years later. Then later on, Aslan sent them to Valinor, and he sent me back to Middle-earth, and I've lived in Rivendell most of the time since then.

I would love to visit some Dryads and Naiads again! I used to know some of them while I lived there, and I wish I might be able to go back. Now that I live in Ditto Town, perhaps I can manage to go there somewhere in the Ditto Story.

(And even in Real Life, I enjoy Narnia. LWW was translated into Norwegian several years before LotR, so I had loved Narnia for ten years before I had even heard of Middle-earth. )
