Shyanne crossed her arms and rubbed them, feeling slightly chilled with all the talk about killing.
"Micah will stop them." Shyanne said, her voice firm and sure. "He will find a way to put an end to all of this."

"Now," Nan began, "Let me see exactly what I am assigned to teach you about this device." She glanced down at a piece of parchment. Her mouth went grimly straight. "I see. I thought as much." She was quiet for a moment, then said, "Well, let's begin. Take the hamstrum in your hands. Now take this test disc and attach it here. Press that third button, hold it down, and quickly tap the first button three times."
Lilly did as she was told but judging by the look on Nan's face she shouldn't be so very happy about it. She wondered what was wrong with this small demonstration that Nan should be so upset about it, but she wasn't about to ask, she should probably already know.

McKenzie ran down the hall in search of anyone who might know where Leanna Rose (Lilly) was, if anything could get to Brownie it was that.
The hallways were as gloomy as ever, the strange symbols and pictures that covered them most definitely helped. Everything seemed to be waiting to pounce on him and tear him to bits, if that was how his victims felt then good, because that was his intention. He loved feeling like he was in danger, the problem was that he never could get enough of it, the other students were too week to put on a good fight.
McKenzie saw Dorothy at the door to her room and sped his pace even faster. "Hey!" He called "Have you got any idea where Leanna is? I have something I need to say to her. A few quiet words, you know." Well, quiet wasn't exactly the right word but it worked for his purposes anyway. As he waited for Dorothy's response he leaned against the wall in a leisurely fashion, Arms crossed; feet a little further out than the rest of his body.

Will shrugged and shook his head in agreement. “Nope, you’re not disturbing anything.” Will said, but as he did, he began to think. Are they disturbing something? Did I lose attention with another conversation while getting lost in my thoughts again? Will smiled at the others and Stevie. If he hadn’t hidden his true feeling of being ashamed for not paying attention to the conversation, it would have been your average awkward smile. “So.” Will said, “What are you chaps up to?”

Brendlyn looked at Shyanne at the mention of the young man she was waiting for. "This Micah you speak of. He must be a mighty warrior indeed if you place such confidence in him."

Kevin looked at Daniella impatiently. "Whatever. Just come on. I got something I want to show you." And before she could have a chance to respond, he grabbed hold of her arm and began pulling her down the hall.

"You start tomorrow," Tivvens replied to Dan. "First thing after breakfast. Childress will meet you right outside the Dining Room door."

As Lilly pressed the buttons Nan taught her to press, the disc played, only faster than usual, making the words "test" sound very high pitched.
"Very good!" Nan replied. "Now you know what happens when you press those buttons." She looked at her paper again. "Well, there's nothing left, it looks like, that I'm supposed to teach you today. A bit of a short lesson, I'd say, but I suppose that's alright considering it's our first time. Use the rest of your time to remember those buttons--" she looked at Lilly very hard-- "Do not forget them."
Nan looked up. "Lessons are over for today. You may all leave."
Everyone started filing out. But before Lilly could get out the door, Nan grabbed her arm. They were the only two left in the theater.
"Wait," Nan whispered to her. "We are not done yet. Now that we have got rid of them, we can have a real talk. The Givers don't trust me -- for good reason. So they had those Recievers stay to watch and report later. Even now they suspect me. We do not have much time."

Dan waited to see if ms. Tivvens was going to say more; when she didn't continue he looked up towards the ceiling (Which is what he does when he has nothing else to look at) and said "Alright, do I continue with the normal classes today? Or do I have today to do what I like and prepare for tomorrow?" He brought his gaze back down to the desk in front of him and ran his hand along the edge of it.

Lilly watched all of the young receivers leave the room and was just about to follow them when Nan grabbed her arm to stop her. She listened to what Nan said without really comprehending any of it "Oh," She said dully and started tugging a strand of her hair; then she winced as it pulled on the nicely patched wound on her scalp. "What do you want to talk about?" well, that was a silly question, she thought. Something important of course.

Dorothy turned to look at McKenzie with a narrowed gaze. She looked at her delicate fingernails and said, "Perhaps, perhaps not. If I have seen her, I would keep her location a secret to protect her from the annoying likes of you."
She scoffed. "Quiet words? Coming from your mouth?" Dorothy gave a haughty laugh. "Perhaps when I become a kind person, you will utter quiet words."

McKenzie leaned forward from his relaxed position "Whatever do you mean?" He asked dangerously "You don't think I would hurt her do you? Me? You know I would never..." He stood strait up again "Why, I'm as kind and gentle as you are pretty, and that's a compliment... in case you were wondering." He gave a false grin, he had meant the pretty part, Dorothy was always meticulously well groomed, but that didn't really mean much to him at the moment. "Well, if you do know where she is, you'll tell me, I know you will."

Dorothy's eyebrows rose as shock registered on her face. She schooled her features into a blank expression. She had never received a compliment from McKenzie before and she wasn't willing to show him that it surprised her. "Yes, of course I'm pretty. Everyone knows that. But you are not kind and gentle. Everyone knows that, as well."
Dorothy turned and shut her bedroom door. Turning back to him, she said, "I never suggested that you would hurt Leanna, only that you would talk her ear off and bore her to death with your perpetual nonsense. But," Dorothy tugged on a blonde ringlet, "since I'm in a particularly good mood and I don't really want to talk to you anymore, I shall give you a hint to her whereabouts. She's that way." She pointed behind her.
Dorothy flashed her signature smile and then walked in the opposite direction that she pointed.

McKenzie grinned again "Knew you'd come around, ms. Pickett." He said formally "What a wonderful help you've been." after this he a gave an exaggerated bow and watched her turn and walk off, he followed suit and turned his back to walk in the direction she had pointed, the theater was down here, he would start from there and move on. He was as close to overjoyed has a boy like himself could get.

Micah's gaze locked with the unknown stranger's, and Micah saw in that gaze that the man did indeed know what happened; he knew Micah had escaped. If that were true, he could be a danger to them; anyone who had knowledge of their escape could potentially talk to the enemy. Then again, he could also be a help. Micah had no tangible reason to make a decision either way, and common sense would suggest caution; and yet, his gut feeling told him to trust the newcomer. Micah had always been the sort to trust the fire of his heart over the dictates of reason.
The man reached for the arrow, and Micah instinctively gave it to him. "What do you know?"

Rokard sat silently, calmly sharpening the blade of his halberd. As he slowly slid the sharpening stone along the long dark blade, it created the shrill grinding scream that he loved so much. It reminded him of death and things inhuman. Most of all, however, it reminded him of the Deadly Nightshade; he wasn't sure why, but that particular sound always brought the small poisonous plant to the forefront of his mind. Perhaps it had something to do with some long lost memory from his childhood. He didn't know for sure, and honestly, he didn't really care. He just found it interesting, and that is why he named his weapon Nightshade long ago.
He continued sharpening his blade, until one of the other Hunters complained that he had been doing so for much too long and the sound was beginning to annoy. Rokard made no acknowledgment, continuing his work just as before, thinking simply of death and nightshade.

Hegon sat up against a large stone, his thoughts consumed with the event’s of the night before. He wasn’t lamenting over the terrible deeds, as most normal humans might if they had just killed innocent people, but rather he was obsessing over it. He was going through the events of the night step by step, remembering each move, and thinking up different ways he could have carried out his deeds in a more precise way. However, he had a slight problem with his thoughts, there was a sound filling his ears that was driving him utterly mad. Probably some animal suffering. I should just shoot the thing with my bow and ends its misery. Hegon thought, Wait, no, that’s someone sharpening a blade. I should just shoot him, and end the rest of our misery.
“Will you cut it out?” Hegon shouted, more of a command then a question.
The man continued, and Hegon could take it no longer. He rolled his eyes as he stood from his seated position and pulled his blade. Hegon walked up to the man who was sharpening his blade, and pointed the pointy end of his sword at the man’s throat. “Cut it, or I’ll slit your throat.”

Calix sat, watching as a stranger entered their conversation. Then he watched as Micah handed the arrow to the stranger, and asked what he knew. “Yes, what do you know?”

He looked back at them, one by one, and then at the arrow that Micah had handed over. He glanced at it, then back into the blacksmith's eyes, "I know..." he smirked, "Many things. If I were to relate to you all I know, we would be sitting here until years-end."
He turned his eyes back to the arrow, carressing it's length, fingering the fine workmanship of the tip and hardened shaft. The most unique part of the entire arrow though, was the fact that it was not fletched with feathers as most arrows were. No, the creator of this arrow fletched it with fine strips of gold, so fine they looked not much bigger than a hair if you looked at them on edge.
He smiled, "I know something of you... and I know something of this arrow... But we are not alone...what of these?" he motioned at the others, "Can they be trusted?"
"We are Spartans... impossible is what we do."

“Look, I’m not bein’ funny or anything but you’re the dark shadowy figure that just stepped into our private conversation.” Calix said. “How are we to know what you know is not privilege information known by evil ones.”
“I do not speak for the big mouthed one.” Falcon said, but then he motioned towards himself and Isla, “We can be trusted. I do assume the same for the big mouthed one, however.”
“Big mouthed?” Calix asked, “What’s that supposed to mean? A smaller man would have been offended by that, I for one will not be for the sake of getting this over with so I can figure out what’s going on.”
