Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters
Isla leaned forward and looked at the arrow. "I have seen arrows like that before. Falcon said that they belong to a group of men who show know care for the human soul. They kill merely for sport."
When the stranger spoke, Isla quickly stood, toppling her chair. Her hand was on her swords, but she made no further move to remove it from its sheathe.

Shyanne crossed her arms and lifted her chin. "I don't think it's a good idea."

Somewhere unknown, in a pitch balck room, sat Wryorden, the Head of brywahr Academy. In his hand he held papers, a report of some kind. He chucked softly to himself.
Reaching out his hand, he presed a button, buzzing Nvust's Tarbulene.

Nvust gasped as she felt her Tarbulene send a shock through her. I wonder why he is calling me. But I must go She, instead of walking with Sam lowered her again. "Take her to her room." she said looking at Dorothy. "Await there until another Giver comes." she then entered her office, closing the door hard. She went to her desk, and buzzed Tivven's Tarbulene. "It's time you did a favor for me. Would you go to the room of the Receiver Dorothy? Sam feinted, and I can not go at this time" She then took a breath and re-exited her room, brushing past Dorothy and heading to where Wryorden had called her.

Dorothy sighed as Ms. Nvust walked away. With the help of another student, Dorothy carried Sam to the room and set her on a bed. She thanked the student who had helped her and then waited for Ms. Tivvens to arrive.

When Edmund got to the hide out with Sirus, he noticed a few new people with Suzanne. Before he could ask her what was going on, he noticed a pretty girl (Brendlyn). He made his way to her side, grabbing her hand. "Name is Edmund. Who may you be, milady?"

((OOC: *gasp* I totally forgot Brownie was under attack... *headdesk* I'm so sorry E+J! Not that the end result would have been much different, but Darek wouldn't have smiled when he saw what was happening. *headdesk* I'm such an idiot... Lemme go back and edit it.))

Darek gazed at Brownie's face with a black expression. It was not a direct gaze, rather, it was distant and focused not on Brownie, but Brownie's tormentor.
Atom stared with an expression not easily readable, but could have been anything from anger to sympathy to dislike.
Brownie's explanation caused Darek to stir irritably, then say in clipped tones, "There's nothing to be sorry for."
Atom said nothing.
When Brownie sat down and expressed a desire for a favor, Darek's face softened and he gestured towards the bed for Brownie to move to, if he so chose. Seating himself on the bed, Darek leaned forward, rested his hands together lightly and said, "Certainly."

Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters
Micah took the arrow cautiously, and looked it over. It wasn't as much a mystery to him as it was to the others; he was there when the attack happened. Isla took sudden interest in the arrow then, and said it belonged to ruthless killers.
Before Micah could say anything at all, he saw the newcomer approach the table, apparently having overheard their conversation. Micah looked up at the man, and for a split second as their gaze locked, he had the inexplicable feeling that the man knew his secret. How could he know? Micah thought to himself, trying to be rational. Unless he's with the enemy, perhaps.
"You speak as if you know for sure what happened last night. Do you?" Micah asked bluntly, and awaited his answer.
"Of course we've got to find him (if we can). That's the nuisance of it. It means a search party and endless trouble. Bother Eustace." ~ Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

(((OOC: Sorry everyone that I've been so bad at posting lately! I'll do Vayond first, and then do my Brywahr post hopefully later today)))
As Brendlyn stood waiting for Micah's arrival, she took in a great breath of air outside the hideout. She loved these woods, and wondered, now that she had offered herself to these good people, how far away her services to them would take her from here.
Brendlyn was, as a rule of character, extremely alert. But her deep reflections on saying goodbye to her only home had, for once, clouded her senses for only a moment. She did not hear Edmund and Sirius approach.
Suddenly, she felt someone take her hand. She backed one pace in surprise, and raised her crossbow again. Looking at the face, she recognized him as one of the boys she had seen with the group earlier.
Though she was suspicious, she lowered the crossbow -- but she kept one hand near her belt (where a small dagger was concealed) just in case.
"My name is Brendlyn," she answered him. "I have come to offer my services as Guide to you and your friends. I have made them my offer, and now await word from the one you call Micah."
Brendlyn continued, "I will give unreservedly all I have to offer. I ask nothing in return, but one thing is nevertheless expected --" (here she looked at the hand Edmund had used to grab hers) "-- respect. The respect due to a Guide, a swordswoman, an archer, and a lady of the woods with nothing but a noble cause in her heart. I do not mean any of you harm. And yet... it would be wise to keep your distance, stranger."
Brendlyn bowed before Sirius, to acknowledge his presence. Then she turned and entered the hideout as Jarien had given her permission to do.

Edmund stared after her, speechless. There had to be another way to get her to accept his advances. He made his way towards the hideout, then found Susanne. "Oh, hey. So how is everything?"

The man's eyes slowly left the arrow and travelled up until they were locked with Micah's again, a slow smile crept onto his face, "...Perhaps..." he said, "Those who observe see many things..."
He held his hand out to Micah, wanting to look more closely at the arrow himself. He had seen the design before, somewhere in the past...

Jarien watched as First Brendlyn and then Edmund and Sirius entered the hideout, "Brendlyn, if you'll just take a seat, i'm sure Micah will be back soon." he turned to Edmund, "Where is Micah?"

Glad at least someone didn't fully hate his guts, Micah answered, "He's in town but I think he would prefer we all stay back." He shook his head. "I would say you could go find him but he would probably say it's too dangerous."

"Oh, no. You didn't disturb us," Stevie lied with a convincing smile. "It's always nice to have all of my friends around me... at the same time."

Janiece came closer in her worry and concern for Daniella. "Hit you? Well, I'm certainly glad he hasn't! But that shouldn't be something anyone should have to worry about! If he is dangerous, and you love another anyway, why do you want to be with him?"
~
Brownie sat down on the bed. "I need something built. But it has to be done quickly -- by tonight. And secretly. It can't be known by anyone outside this room."
~
"Now," Nan began, "Let me see exactly what I am assigned to teach you about this device." She glanced down at a piece of parchment. Her mouth went grimly straight. "I see. I thought as much." She was quiet for a moment, then said, "Well, let's begin. Take the hamstrum in your hands. Now take this test disc and attach it here. Press that third button, hold it down, and quickly tap the first button three times."
~
Wryorden (who could hear any message a Giver sent to another over his sound system) listened to Nvust tell Tivvens to take over the problem with Sam. He pressed the button for Tivvens' tarbulene, and said, "Ignore that last request from Nvust. Carry on with your current duty."
Then, on his screen, he watched as Nvust entered the Hall of Prismel.
"Nvust," he began. "I know about the incident with the Reciever Sam. Do not question her health or wonder why she has fainted. Discard it all from your mind. Take her and bring her to the Hall of Punishment. But do not give her any punishment. Hand her over to the Giver you will find waiting there. Make sure you are not seen."

Darek's lips twisted slightly into a strange smile, and Atom chuckled aloud.
"The secrecy part is guaranteed," Darek said softly and with a faintly raised eyebrow, "However, the rest will depend on what it is."
Atom snorted, "Eh, quit being modest. I'm sure you can build anything any of us can think up by tonight as easy as you tie your shoelaces."
"Shut up, Atom," said Darek with a roll of his eyes, but he was suppressing another smile. "I'll do my best, no matter what."
Atom shook his head with another snort and gave Brownie a look that said not to believe Darek's seemingly low expectation of himself.

Return of the Fountain Fellowship
The receptionist had been zoning out and she nearly jumped when Ace spoke. "Oh!" Then she recognized his insignia and sat up a little straighter, "Um, let me check, Lieutenant." She tapped a few keys in the pad in front of her. "Oh, the visiting doctor. She's in the experimentation lab with Doctor Nix."
She pressed another button on the desk. "Doctor Nix, sir?"
"What is it?" A harsh voice barked out, "We're busy in here."
The receptionist shrunk back. "A MESS lieutenant is here to see Dr. Cunningham."
The voice calmed down a very few degrees. "We'll be out in a moment. Nix, ending transmission." The comlink clicked out.
--------
Grace was checking the teeth of a wombat sitting on the experimentation table. Dr. Nix had been explaining their DNA alteration experiments to her when he had been called away. Strange, but when he was gone, her mind seemed a bit more her own. Even stranger, she wasn't sure that she liked it that way. He was just so...so...maybe intoxicating was the right word.
Nix strolled back over from the corner of the room where he had been taking a transmission, "A lieutenant is asking for you at the front desk." He plunged his hands into his pockets and smiled at her, "Are you ready?"
Grace hesitated, and then nodded. "Sure."
The two walked out into the hallway, side by side.
"What do you think, Dr. Cunningham?" Nix asked conspiratorily.
Grace smiled slightly, "I think I'd like to come back. We didn't really have enough time...."
Nix nodded, "I agree. We've got to accommodate the MESS, though," His voice turned disgusted, "They think they can do whatever they please. I despise how their command structure is arranged."
Grace looked at Nix with interest. "I was thinking something similar when arrived and saw a commanding officer beating up his soldier."
Nix chuckled at this, and Grace joined in. They rounded the corner into the reception room.

let me teach you how to dance."
