Will felt bad for not holding a correct conversation with Stevie, she seemed as though she wanted to keep talking, but Will kept getting distracted in his thoughts. Which is odd. Will thought as he scanned the atmosphere of books, I can usually think quite clearly when I’m in a library.
Will looked to the new arrivals in the conversation he was holding with Stevie.
“Nothing.” Will responded, “We were talking about writing, and this Academy. The latter being the usual subject.”

“That is alright.” Falcon said, “It is in times like these that we must count our foolish mistakes as a benefit. Perhaps you will learn from this time to not attack another without proper thought.”
Falcon turned and began to follow Isla, but as he did he saw that the inn across the street was completely burnt down. “What has happened to the Inn?” Falcon asked, turning to the man that who Isla had just attacked.

As Calix arrived he watched as the man he had just met in the eatery was ending a duel with a woman who was obviously skilled. “Of course it ends just as I arrive.” Calix said, “Just great.”
Suddenly Calix heard the man who was with the woman ask what happened with the Inn, “I’ll tell ya what happened, a crime, that’s what.” Calix replied.

Micah stared awkwardly at Isla as she simply walked away, as though nothing had happened out of the ordinary. Insane, he thought to himself. She's downright insane. He sheathed his sword, and wiped perspiration from his brow.
The man who seemed to be Isla's companion asked Micah a question about the inn. Before Micah could say anything, Calix answered, "I'll tell ya what happened, a crime, that's what."
As his thoughts raced back to the events of last night, he suddenly realized how much attention the duel had drawn. He glanced about nervously, hoping no enemies had been alerted to his presence. Micah marched forward toward the Eatery, gesturing for Calix and the other man to follow. "Let us speak of these things inside," he said in a quiet tone. I need to get back to the hideout soon; but perhaps I can still get some information first, and this side-trip will be worth something.

Isla stared as Falcon walked toward the eatery, agreeing with Micah's suggestion. "Falcon, you cannot be serious! We have things to tend to. We have no time..." Isla's words trailed off as she realized Falcon wasn't listening.
She stormed up the stairs to the eatery and stopped in front of Micah, looking him square in the face and saying, "Seeing as you have persuaded my companion to join you, you have also persuaded me. I have not left his side for these ten years and I do not intend to break that habit today. Whatever business you have to discuss with him, you will also discuss in front of me, whether you like it or not. I do not like complaints, no matter their size, so if you will, please keep your disagreements to yourself and meditate on them in silence." Isla held her hand up in case Micah decided to interrupt her. "But I think I should let you know one thing. I am not in the best mood currently and if you make me angry, I will lash out. Beware of this, for things will get ugly. I do not intend to get angry; this is only a warning. You would do well to heed it."
Isla turned and started to walk away, but she marched back to him and said, "One more thing. I do not take kindly to those who speak about the faults of my past. If you wish to remain unharmed, you will not bring up the fact that I attempted to end your life sooner than you expected. Our duel was nothing more than a friendly skirmish, to which we both agreed upon, carried out for the sole purpose of improving our skills. Am I making myself clear, or shall I say it again, hmm?"

"Thanks." Piper replied quietly with a chuckle as she turned away from Stretch. She motioned for Scrappy to follow as she walked out hurried onto street which, although it wasn't too busy, made her wish she had her cloak. She kept her head down as they crossed the street, trying to stay hidden and inconspicuous at the same time, not the easiest thing to do. She bent down towards Scrappy as they reached the speeder, "Be as quick as you can." she whispered. She looked around cautiously, all the while trying to act normal and look like she was supposed to be there while Scrappy began hacking the system.

Calix began to laugh, “She’s got quite the mind!” Calix said. “I didn’t even know that many words could be spoken at the same time without doing some sort of damage. And boy can she go on!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Believe me,” Falcon said, “She hasn’t even started.”
Although Falcon was holding a conversation with Calix, his mind was in a completely other place, If the inn is burnt down, then what happened to Hugo? He might have known what happened to Isla, and who she is.
Micah stammered as he attempted to speak during Isla's monologue, unable to get a word in edgewise. "I... You... But..." Finally, he sighed, shut his mouth, and crossed his arms angrily, biding his time and waiting for her to finish on her own. When she finally did, and told him that he must agree that their battle had been a friendly skirmish, his facial expression turned to astonished disbelief. "Why would I agree to that?!" He asked, but then he saw her mouth about to move again, and realized if he didn't take it back within a split second, he'd be subjected to yet another verbal siege. "Alright, alright!" He growled, "I understand. Now, may I continue into the Eatery?" He asked for her permission, but he didn't actually wait for it; he pushed her aside and strode into the building. "That woman is intolerable," he mumbled to himself.
McKenzie gave a deceptively cheerful laugh as the door slammed shut behind Brownie. Now what should he do? there was nobody left that he really felt like picking on, except maybe that short girl that Brownie seemed to enjoy hanging out with, now that would get Browning nice and riled, wouldn't it? He pondered. the only problem is that I have no clue as to where I might find her.
McKenzie gave a hard kick to the door and then started down the hall. It was time for him to get some of his extra work done.
Lilly's heart sank a bit when she realized that there was nothing really interesting to hear on the disk, but it did mean there there was at least that link to earth.
"Why? why will it help me here?" she wondered aloud "Shall I be doing much erasing of them?" that sounded dumb. she thought. I should probaly already know what I'm supposed to be here for.
When Micah pushed past her, Isla swayed slightly on her feet, but she caught herself. She stepped over a an unconscious man and toward a tipped chair. Setting it upright, she sat down and said, "What happened in here?"
A few men were still fighting in the back of the Eatery, throwing chairs and other random items.
Tess' eyes glinted mischievously when Lyssa said that it would keep them out of trouble. It reminded her of how much fun she had had spying and playing pranks on other people. She was beginning to really like Lyssa and Stella and she was happy it was them she found first in the library! She was waiting anxiously to see what Stella would say, but after a minute she got tired of waiting and said, cheerfully, "Alright let's go! You get to chose where we go first because I have no idea where anything is!"
Micah ignored the few lingering brawlers, and headed to the other end of the Eatery. He found a table in the corner that was remarkably still upright, pulled a chair up to it, and waited for the others to be seated as well.
"Calix; what do you know about the events at the inn last night?" Micah asked in a low tone. Several of the Eatery's staff were now intervening to stop the brawl, and the sound of the ruckus over there did an excellent job of masking their conversation in the corner.
Isla stood from her chair and moved toward Micah. She took a seat between Falcon and Calix. When Micah addressed Calix, Isla looked at him, waiting for him to answer.
"Calix; what do you know about the events at the inn last night?" Micah asked in a low tone.
“I know that the inn as well as the people inside didn’t perish do to a mere fire.” Calix said as he sat, then he opened a pouch and pulled out an arrow that was charred. “This I found in the rubble. I’ve seen an arrow similar to it before, but I’m having trouble placing it.”
Calix reached his hand across the table to hand the arrow shaft to Micah.
Adi looked at Shyanne, "Jarien is rarely wrong in his impressions of people... and from her words and the feeling behind them, I don't think she is a danger... What would be a danger is if the hunters were still around, and saw her waiting around outside our entrance, looking suspicious..."
She turned for a moment to watch Jarien, who was waiting for the girl to enter.
The man watched as both parties that had his attention exited the tavern, first the big man, and second the dark-skinned one. His warning had been in vain, as the dark man had been hit anyway, but seemed t shrug off the pain easily, before leaving as well. The sounds of a sword duel echoed over the tavern noises, and As the fight in the tavern began to subside, the man on the stairs descended.
He stepped over broken tables and chairs and around the scattered one or two fights that were continuing, and went to the front window, watching attentively as the fight unfolded and then ended abruptly. Most of the conversation between the combatants had been inaudible, but their actions were quickly noted.
The pair of men were now joined by a young woman and another male, rather quiet and stoic. The man at the window now waited patiently as they entered, moving to a table that was in the corner and still intact.
All the other approached and they began talking. Our fellow moved closer, hanging just far enough back to keep from arousing suspicion, and listened. Evidently the dak-skinned man was named Calix, the other's names were not apparent, but... Calix knew something of the events in the inn.
Thinking to himself, our friend chuckled inwardly. He was probably the only one here that knew that the burly man had been inside the inn, and that there had indeed been some sort of fight... but if Calix had more information...
He stepped forward, "Truly... the occupants of the inn were murdered." His eyes were on the arrow, his mind trying to figure out if he had seen it.
Cyg returned Zakk's radio message, "Roger Zakk, we'll follow your lead... keep your head down ok, we don't want any unneeded attention to ourselves."
He turned and chuckled to Shalen, who laughed, "Totally... especially after our recent exploit."
Cyg punched the accelerator and closed up with Zakk, to make sure he didn't lose him.
Lieutenant Ace marched into the barracks of the special forces. He didn't mind having to pick out a team, but he loathed what he knew he would be ordered to do with it. He wouldn't do what he the Chairman would want him to do... opress more innocents, inforce the hated laws...
He took a breath and began looking over the datapad that the duty officer had given him with the details of all the soldiers currently stationed.
He knew what he needed for a good team... if he was going to do this, he would pick ones that would be the best he could get. He began calling out numbers, 3 soldiers... Demolitions and Heavy weapons, electronics and computer systems, Close quarters and assult, and himself, sniper and commander.
They assembled and he gave each a data chip with their new assignments and orders from the chairman to be transfered to his command at the appropriate time. They each gave a nod and returned to their duties, cleaning weapons and checking gear.
Ace turned from the room and walked out, leaning on the wall and taking a breath. Their skills brought back memories of the past... his team... Himself, Cyg, Shalen, Liminata... four with the perfect set of skills.
He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts, and looked at his chronometer, three hours had passed since he had left David. It was late in the afternoon now, and he shrugged, his duties were over.
Giving a nod, he headed toward the medical, research, and experementation wing, to check on Grace.
He strode directly through the pressure doors that seperated the two facilities, and headed toward the front desk, stopping to knock on it and get the receptionist's attention, "I Need to find a new doctor here... Grace Cunningham... can you tell me where she is?"
