Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters

Calix started to eat his food after Tabitha handed him his order.
“Give me another round!” Crazy Hal shouted lifting his mug.
“You haven’t paid for the last two drinks.” Tabitha said.
“This place stinks.” Hal said, “You’re lousy!”
“Listen,” Calix said, “You pay respect to the lady.”
“Pay respect?” Hal asked, “I’ll pay respect.”
Hal attempted to punch Tabitha, but because of his lack of judgment, and Tabitha’s ability to dodge, the fist landed in Calix’s face, sending him on his back on the ground.
“Oh, this I do not like!” Calix shouted as he jumped up, grabbed Hal by the shirt collar, and then punched him in the face.
Soon a fight began within the eatery. People sprawled all over each other in a mad brawl, most possibly unsure as to why they were fighting.
Calix punched one attacker in the gut, and then took a fist jab to his side rib, which he returned with a wide swing punch to the attackers face.
“That’s what I’m talkin’ about!” Calix shouted, but then two men threw a heavy chair into Calix, causing him to fly backwards onto the banister behind him, broke through the wood, and fell onto a table.
“That hurt!” Calix shouted.

Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters

The sign hanging above the small, one-storied building proclaimed with bright red paint that it was indeed Tabitha's Eatery, the place Micah was looking for. From the outside, it appeared nice; a small establishment for middle-class common folk to congregate in a cozy environment. Once he saw it, Micah remembered having visited once before, and enjoying himself. He grinned, and walked through the front door.

As soon as he stepped inside, his idea of a quaint restaurant atmosphere was shattered as suddenly as a punch in the face - literally. He had walked right into a brawl, and before he could even take in the sight, one of the brawlers hauled off and smashed his knuckles into Micah's nose, causing him to stumble backward against the doorpost. He’d hardly recovered from the blow when someone else grabbed his collar and tried to toss him across the floor; however, Micah wasn’t to be taken by surprise this time. He gripped the wrists of his new attacker, wrenching them free from his tunic, and pushed the man to the side. “What’s going on here?” He asked above the ruckus, but was not answered. Near the center of the fight he saw a burly dark-skinned man, who seemed to be having fun. It seemed obvious that he was the instigator of this mess. Pushing several rowdy brawlers aside, Micah made his way to the man, and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Yes?” the man said, turning to him casually.

“What’s going on here?” Micah yelled.

Just then, a crazy intoxicated man smashed a ceramic plate over the other man’s shoulder while he was distracted. Instead of answering Micah’s question, he turned around and hit the crazy fellow so hard that he flew back into a table.
“Hey!” Micah yelled, becoming annoyed, “We’re talking here!” He realized if he was going to end this fight, he’d have to be more forceful. He grabbed one of the more violent brawlers by the collar. “Settle down!” He yelled, and punched him across the jaw. “And you settle down!” He said as he forcefully seated another.

"Yeah, another lader, this one heads down a long way in the crust" he said, then grabbed a small flash light off his belt to provide light in the dark space. Cale turned it on, put it between his teeth and began climbing "Lets go" he said.

Stretch nodded, normally he would have insisted that he should do it, but in his current prediciment he allowed his friend to take charge "Good luck" he said grinning.

Isla flipped her dark ponytail behind her shoulder and said to Falcon, "We're almost there."

They came to a stream and Isla stepped on a few stones to get across. Her footing was precise, with no room for error.

"I think we should stop at Tabitha's and see how she is doing. We haven't spoken to her in some time. She always has some interesting stories to relay." Isla smiled, glancing back at Falcon.

Edmund was walking Sirus back to the way of the hideout. Once they got there, they saw a bunch of different new people. "What is going on here?" he demanded. He wanted to make sure these were friends, and not enemies.

“That’s not gonna do much, Buddy.” Calix said, “You gotta hit em’ hard!”
Calix hauled off and punched the man that Micah had sat down on the chair. The man flew backwards off the chair and into the legs of another man, which caused him to get knocked over.
Calix presented his hand to Micah, “The name’s Calix.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"That is a good idea." Falcon said, “We may find the one whom I am to speak with inside her eatery.”
Micah looked the man over. "You're Calix? I came here to find you. I..." Before he could explain further, his peripheral vision caught sight of yet another brawler coming to attack him. Micah dodged his fist, grabbed his arm, and pulled the man past him, utilizing the momentum he had already built up to throw him to the ground. Micah glared at the rest of the people fighting with disgust. "Never mind. I can see this is getting nowhere. Finish up whatever business you've started here; but I'd like to speak with you about something when you can spare a moment." With that, Micah turned and headed toward the exit, pushing his way through the rowdy crowd. No use trying to get information in the middle of this ruckus. Perhaps this side-trip was useless after all.
Susanne agreed with Shyanne "Yes, I do hope he hurries back" then Adi came down and informed them they were allowing another into their hide away. It didn't matter whether she was their friend! They didn't know her. Susanne was hesitant, but nodded to the other woman. "Alright"
Kasey shrugged "Alright. I don't want to be late for class though" she said to Alder. Though she would love to defy the Givers by not showing up at all the classes, she was afraid of the punishment that would come alone with it.
Ms Nvust had though that would be the last she'd see of Dorothy for the time being, but then the Reciever called her. Frustrated, she rose from her chair quickly and flew open the door, only to see Sam lying prone on the floor. Not even she had seen this coming "What happened!?" she snapped, kneeling down next to Sam.
"You are not going to tell me who it is until I'm face-to-face with this mystery person, are you?" Isla said, as they walked out of the covering of the forest and headed toward the town's clearing.
Isla focused her attention on the town. She didn't come here often, but when she did, it always fascinated her. Movement caught her eye and she focused on a man who had just been thrown out the door of Tabitha's Eatery. Before Falcon could answer her question or stop her, Isla ran toward the Eatery.
"What is going on?" She asked the man who had just been thrown out.
"A fight, lady!" He said, running back into the eatery, only to be thrown out again.
"Well, that is fairly obvious." Isla rolled her eyes as she took a step toward the eatery door, despite the flying punches and splintering chairs.
~~~

"Are you insane?" Shyanne said in a loud whisper. "You have no idea who she is. She can wait outside the cave until Micah comes back."

"I don't know!" Dorothy said. "I opened the door and she was here, fainted."

“Well, Friend,” Calix said then he turned around and punched a brawler, “That’s where you are wrong. I didn’t start this thing.”
Calix ran over and picked up Crazy Hal, who had gone unconscious a while back. “He did.” Calix turned and caught the fist of another attacker with the face of Crazy Hal. “Sorry ‘bout that, bud.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before Falcon could respond, Isla was already running towards the eatery, where a fight was obviously ensuing. “It is important that you keep a wary eye if you wish to enter that mad house.” Falcon shouted out, despite the distance Isla had created when she sprinted ahead, then he prepared to follow.
Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters
The sunlight was shining in through the window on the second floor of Tabitha's eatery. Inside the small room, one of only two that she rented out, a lone man sat at the small table, a book in front of him, a quill in hand.
The fine point scratched out word after word, methodically making it's way across the page at the front of lines of words. At last, the man put the pen down, laying it in the book, and then closed the book on top of it. He strode over to the window, leaning on the side as he looked out across the square to where the Inn had been only the evening before.
He had witnessed the burning of the inn, saw the whole thing from his upstairs window... the whole thing that is, from the moment he saw confused shadows in the windows, as if a fight were happening, and then the flames leaping up from the cellar, consuming the structure. And lastly, the small group that had succeeded in escaping, and instead of coming into the town to get help, had rushed away into the darkness. He replayed the scene in his mind, comparing it with what he had written, making sure he left out no detail.
Satisfied he had covered it all, he was about to turn away when a man strode to the front of the building clearly intent on coming inside. He looked familiar... ah... he looked strikingly like one of the men escaping from the inn... this was interesting. He turned from the window and his ears suddenly picked up a ruckus on the lower floor, it sounded like a brawl. Gathering his book and his bag of meager supplies and clothing, he closed and locked his room, and went to the top of the stairs.
The entire first floor was consumed in a rowdy fight. Not wanting to get involved, He stayed at the top of the stairs, watching. The action seemed to be centered around one dark skinned man...and the fellow that he had seen entering, he was quite burly, looked like he was no stranger to labor.
The two of them seemed to be holding their own, and holding a conversation at the same time as they were fighting. The burly man looked as if he wanted to end the fight, although that wasn't going very well... these fights could be hard to stop.
He opened his book and made a few notes, while glancing constantly up at the fight. Somone was about to hit the dark skinned man, "Look out behind you" he called to the pair.
Adi looked at Shyanne, "Insane? I think not... her intentions seem good, do you want her to stand around out there all day looking even more conspicious?"
Micah pushed his way out of the riot and through the doorway, coming face to face with a young woman who was preparing to enter. “I would not go in there if I were you,” Micah said, “It’s no place for a woman.” Then he stepped past her and walked away, without waiting for a reply.
...no place for a woman...no place for a woman...no place for a woman...
Isla's eyes widened for just a second. Images and memories flashed through her mind, each revolving around the simple statement spoken by the man. Confusion clouded her thoughts for a second. Who was he? Why was he warning her? Did he know her? Was he one of her father's crewmen? Was he the one that suggested to exile her from the ship? The questions assaulted her at once, giving her no time to answer any of them.
Her right hand flew to her left hip and she pulled out a dagger. She was acting on instinct rather than intelligence.
Swiftly turning, the dagger left her hand and spun through the air, aimed directly at Micah.
~~~

"Yes!" Shyanne said. "I believe it would be the most intelligent course of action to take."

Falcon looked up in time to see the dagger escape Isla's grasp, he had to act quick, so he pulled a dagger out and threw his dagger at Isla's dagger. The daggers hit with a metallic clang, and Isla's dagger was hit off course and landed in the dirt between the man that Isla had attempted to kill's feet.
Falcon then pulled his sword, and got ready for what could happen next.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Calix heard someone shout a warning to him. Calix looked up to where it came from, but couldn't see anyone. It was a foolish choice to first look for the person who had spoken the warning, instead of heeding it, because Calix was soon hit. Calix fell back, but then jumped up and punched his attacker. Who said that? Calix thought.
