Daniella was relieved at Dan's kindness, after seeing the disappointment on Brownie's face. At least someone wanted to be her friend and didn't see her as evil incarnate. "Yeah, let's go to the library."

Kasey, was quite lost. After dismissal she didn't bother to tangle herself in the mess of Receivers. She excited quickly, and made her way quietly down the hall to Alder's room. Upon arriving there, she knocked.

"No need to knock," Alder's voice said from behind Kasey. "You got here before I did!" She laughed. "Come on in. I have something to show you. I was going to show it to Stevie again too, but... I don't know where she is."
Inside, she opened a little drawer, and scooped something out, keeping it hidden in her hands. "Ready?" she asked.

Brownie didn't notice Dan or Daniella leave. He was too busy looking at Lilly. "Alright, come on. It's not too far."
As they walked, he wanted to talk to her, but couldn't think of anything to say. Brownie asked, "So... what was your home world like?"

Raven looked around for Piper as soon as they arrived, and felt a strange mixture of surprise and not-surprise when she didn't see her and the others. If, after all, this MESS was as dangerous as everybody said, it was to be expected that they would run into a few of them before getting where they needed to go, but as she had learned many times over, it is very difficult to persuade yourself to expect the worst until the worst actually happens.
VACs asked the question on her mind before she could say it, and she couldn't add anything to Cale's answer, so she kept quiet, climbed out of the speeder and followed the others, hoping that their missing allies would be joining them soon.

Stella laughed and replied to Stevie, "I've told him so once before. I think that was all I said to him."
She glanced up and saw that Daniella and Dan were headed to the library. This might be her one chance to talk to Daniella before everything blew up in their faces. Stella looked at Will, Stevie and Lyssa, "Want to head to the library while we're free?"

"Oh, you're very good at playing stupid, but you can't fool me." Dorothy said, chuckling derisively. "Now, do as I say."
"Or I'll have to tell my friend Ms. Tivvens." She arched a brow in a silent challenge.

Dan led Daniella off towards the library (A sound place of refuge when one was wanting to be alone) and hurriedly raked his brain for any interesting novel that Daniella might enjoy, he thought of several different books that didn't quite seem to fit and when he was just about to run out of ideas he remembered something he's seen, a book about all the sports that were played on a planet called "Earth". Perfect! he thought, that'll be just the thing, it's bound to have soccer in it!

Lilly Was a little surprised at Brownie's question and it was strange to think that this boy had no recollection of grass or sky or the ocean, How strange, she thought, That he's been away so long that he's forgotten everything, and even stranger that for him, on his world, perhaps the things of her world were not the same or might not even be there in his. Lilly tried to think of a good way to explain earth and it took her a while to think of what to say, and the honest thing was that she wasn't the best person to tell of earth because her experiences there were less than lovely.
"Well," she said thought fully "I's truly hard to explain but I shall try. It's small, my world, the star that it circles is one million times larger than it and our star is a relatively small star. Earth has some really green places with huge trees and think underbrush and lots of animals and insects we call them jungles, but in other places it's dry and rocky- we call that a desert it's hot and one could barely survive in it. In still more places there are tall mountains and rolling lush green meadows, and the grass on these little hillocks ripples in the wind to look like wavelets as different parts catch on the sunshine... It's beautiful, Brownie" As Lilly described these things there grew in her a desperate longing to leave this place so that she might once more see the sunshine and the green rolling hills, and tears began to well up in her eyes, but now that she was describing it she couldn't stop for fear that she might simply forget it all "And sometimes there's sunshine covering the mountain sides and valleys and hills while other times there might be clouds or rain or fogg. There are great cities with tall and intricately built buildings and many of them. There are seashores where you can look out upon the never ending waves that sparkle in the light. There are small villages that are made up of cottages and small shops. There are gardens beautiful gardens with flowers of all kinds Roses, and Dahlias, Holly hocks, and snow drops and oh so many more, and- and lillies, those were my mother's favorite." Suddenly Lily remembered that not all the world was beautiful and so she must tell of the cruel parts, the dangerous parts "But sometimes in any of these places there are dangers of many kinds, wild ravaging wolves and bobcats, bears and dangerous land falls and cliffs and holes that one can fall into, and caves to get lost in. And people, people are the worst, some are kind but those seem to be few and far between in the part of the world that I came from. People will kill for greed and maim in anger and hurt because of pride and bribery, and speak harshly when they want something done, and sometimes all of those things for no reason at all except for the longing to be in control, Brownie, as beautiful as my world is, there will always be the people to hurt, kill, and sometimes Love." Tears were now streaming down Lilly's face, there was so much more that she could have told but her voice would no longer do her bidding, she pressed her lips together to hold in a sob and realized that there were so many things that were worse than even what she had already told.

"Well, you can do that if you like, but it won't be me getting in trouble, will it? You're the one who deserted her post at breakfast so that she could redo her hair. Aren't you now?" He gave a sly little grin "And if I do get in trouble, I won't be alone, you little know it all, you'll be going down with me."

"The Library sounds like a brilliant plan." Will said. “I just wrote something on the Library the other day.”
Will pulled out his notebook and flipped through the pages, “It’s quite short. Ah, here it is. ‘Surrounded by the scent of paper, and the compilation of thoughts from wise men of the past, one can find an inner elation that invigorates the soul and brings joy to the weary heart. One must simply touch the book, and read a paragraph of utter brilliance, and now they are sure they can write thousands of stories; boldly pouring out their thoughts and adventurous spirit to an expecting world.’” Will closed the notebook and smiled. “I wrote that in the library, it truly is an inspiring place.”

Kasey nodded, and waited for Alder to reveal her surprise. Though she didn't feel quite as excited as she thought she should have. It was horrible to not be very excited when your friend really wanted to show you something. But breakfast really hadn't been very good, and besides meeting Henry, the young pastor, nothing really had given her reason to be happy.

Micah, Sirius and Edmund had plodded their way back to town, moving quickly but cautiously. Ever aware that their enemies could be near Micah stayed alert even after they were inside the walls. As they entered, the first sight they saw was the burned heap of ash and charred boards. To think that could have been them hours ago. Edmund then asked what they need to get first. Thinking, Micah turned to Sirius "Food, and basic supplies, maybe a few things from the tannery like a water skin."
Sirius took them to the butcher's shop first. "Hi, Mr. Caulperland! I'd like to buy 10 pounds of your best meat." The man looked up from the counter. "My best meat? 10 pounds would cost 100 pieces of gold!" Sirius hesitated, then looked at Micah and Edmund pleadingly.

Edmund knew desparate times called for desparate measures. His two friends probably weren't as good at negotiating, so he would. Drawing out his sword, he exclaimed, "You're a liar!" He figured the man was lying about the best meat costing that much, so he decided that the cheapest meat might be just as good.

Jarien listened patiently to the young lady's speech, and then raised an eyebrow, "Well, Brendlyn, That's all well and good, but it doesn't answer the question of who you are, or why we should trust you."
Adi came up slowly from the same cleft, her dagger sheathed, and her eyes wary. She watched the woman.

Ace laughed as David poked fun at his new rank, "Evidently i distinguished myself in some way... not sure what" he said, chuckling. They had made it inside by that time, and David looked at his watch, saying he had to go and thanking him for looking out for Grace. "Any time buddy..." he said, and watched him leave. With a sigh, he headed for the barracks, to follow the orders he received from the chairman.

Dan walked over to the shelf on which he knew the book to be found, and raked along the shelf with his index finger...
"Ah! Here 'tis!" He cried in triumph as he pulled out a large illustrated book of earth sports titles 'Sports and Martial Arts that can be found on planet Earth' "I thought that you would like this one." he said as he handed it to her. "I think it probably has soccer in it." He gave a little lopsided grin.

"That means more will probably be on there way soon." Piper replied grimly, glancing left and right as they rushed down the alley as fast as could be managed. If MESS already knew where they were they'd need a miracle to escape. "How far is it?" she asked, beginning to get a little out of breath. Maybe, if they could get close enough to the treehouse before MESS got there, Cale and the others would be able to help.
