Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters
Micah felt slightly defeated when he learned that this doctor they had sent for was most likely not coming. However, his hopes rose when the woman offered her services. "Whatever help you can give will be most appreciated," Micah said. "Follow me." As he led her up the stairs and down the hall, he introduced himself. "My name is Micah Tanniyn; I work as a blacksmith, at a smithy located outside of town."

Caeden chuckled. "Yeah, I could tell," he said, before realizing his comlink was beeping at him. He gave Ana and apologetic look before pulling it off his belt and speaking into it.
"Yello?"
"Caeden . . . where are you?"
"Still in the bar. I can see you right across the room. I'm waving, see? Why aren't you looking?"
"The Captain is back." There was no humor in Jones's voice.
Caeden paled slightly and glanced sidelong at Ana before turning slightly away from her. "Do we need to get back to the ship?" he asked, lowering his voice.
"No. . . . It was strange. He said to take it easy."
Caeden looked incredulous. "He actually used those words? 'Take it easy'?"
You could practically hear Jones rolling his eyes. "No, idiot. But he doesn't need us back at the ship until tomorrow morning. So we have the night to ourselves."
"Did he say why?"
"Of course he didn't. This is the Captain we're talking about."
Caeden laughed nervously and glanced surreptitiously at Ana. "Yeah, right. So I guess I'll see you tomorrow morning then."
"Wait. Where are you going?" Jones's voice sounded suspicious.
"Noplaceinterestingokaybye!" Caeden quickly said before turning the comlink off and shoving it into his belt. He turned back to Ana with an almost too bright smile.
"So, uh, what were we talking about again?"

Nickolas paused on his way out the door to blink blankly at Pandora. "My dad's coming here?" he asked.
Hero rolled her eyes. "No, stupid. They're talking about that Jack guy."
Nickolas glanced sidelong at Hero with a dark look. "I knew that," he muttered.
"Why don't we actually go now?" Peter suggested, a little nervously. He watched as Nickolas relaxed his grip on his sword and Hero turned away. He walked out and over to Moira. "Sorry about them. I'd leave them at home, but they might kill each other." He grinned apologetically.

Simon recoiled with an angry hiss at the sight of the cross, but his face returned to its normal features. He licked his lips thoughtfully then turned to look back in at Desdemona.
"Shall we take the job then, luv?"
Katie watched from behind Lucinda with curiosity. Eventually she grew bold enough to step out from behind the older woman, scowling in what she hoped was a menacing way, trying to look like a Tibetan thunder goddess to the best of her ability. Really, she just looked like she was constipated, but unfortunately there was no mirror present to show her this.

Adi saw hope light in the young man's eyes when she offered her help. He quickly told her that any help was most welcome, and turned to lead her up the stairs.
She followed, looked back at Jarien and motioned with her head towards the stairs, to tell him that she was going up. He noddded.
When they got to the top of the flight, the man finally introduced himself as Micah Tanniyn, a blacksmith. She nodded at his revelation, "My name is Adi... so you are the blacksmith that works with Holbert? he mentioned that he had taken on another worker to help him, but not the name."
She looked around at the hall they were in, and figured in her head which room was the one they were going to, then asked, "What exactly is wrong with the girl?"

Jaegar brought his horse to a stand just outside the lights from the walls of the town. He hopped to the ground, and stepped quietly into the trees on the right of the road. After tying Raphael up securely to a branch, he stalked quietly toward the walls of the town. About 15 paces away, he saw the others, waiting, talking to Gabriel.
He silently aproached them, and waited for Gabriel to finish before speaking up, "Sir... the blacksmith escaped my arrow, but i will not make the same mistake again."

Micah nodded, "Yes, I am. I was working under the tutelage of a master blacksmith in Bayentrawl for nearly four years, but a few months back I came to this village, and Holbert hired me." He paused, and then didn't go further, deciding now was not the time for a story.
He heard Adi inquire as to what was wrong with the girl. He sighed and shook his head as he pulled open the door to Shyanne's room. "I'm not even sure. We think she was chased by thieves, or perhaps the Hunters. She collapsed at the doorstep of the smithy, and so we brought her here. Someone was chasing her; they even shot an arrow at me from the cover of the woods." They entered the room hurriedly. The girl was lying on the bed, arms and head limp, chest heaving with heavy breaths. "I really don't think it's safe for her to stay here for the night; but if she doesn't improve, there's no other choice."

"Marle Tajen." Aeryn said. "Why, do you know her?"

Shyanne shrugged at Edmund's question. "I'm not sure..."
When Micah and the woman entered, Shyanne looked up. She stepped away from the bed, allowing them room.

“Aye,” Hinvi said, “I’ve met her before.”
Hinvi smiled, “She is a great cook, and always there to talk.”

Aeryn nods. "Indeed, she is. She's always been there for me. During the good times and during the bad. I could, and can, always count on her."

Kay screwed up her face in thought as she walked back towards Raven and Cale. "Well..." She racked her mind for positions. "I'm pretty sure that the nanny agency in town is looking for workers. And of course, the restaurants in town are usually open for applications."
She turned to Cale. "Have you got any ideas, Cale?" She asked.

Cale thought for a moment before looking up and seeing a group of people walk in, "Um... I gotta get back to work" he said while he jumped up and walked over to the counter "Hiya, Hugh" he said. Not expecting a response. Hugh didn't seem to talk allot recently.
Stretch motioned for the group to come over, they did. Among them was Shrims, the little guy was almost red in the face. Which was practically impossible since his blue scales did not permit.
That being said he was mad, predictable because he was always mad about something. This time it was because he was caught speeding on the way there. Cale took their orders before giving them to Kay.
After he was done with that he joined them at the table where Stretch was busy keeping Shrims big mouth closed "Shut up you idiot, do you want to get all arrested?" Shrims looked up and yanked the half blood's hand off his face "Fine"
"Hey Liao" Cale said as he sat down, looking around at the other. They were all grinning "Cale... That was a nice piece of handiwork last night" Shrims complimented. Before Cale replied Stretch cut him off "Yeah handiwork which could of got him captured" Cale laughed and said "Stretch, you worry to much"

Kay was startled by Cale's abrupt departure, but the whole people-come-in-and-Cale-suddenly-has-to-leave bit had been happening alot lately. He hadn't wanted to talk to her, so Kay had left it at that. They weren't great friends, so she didn't think that she should bother alot about it.
"I've got some orders to cook up. See you later, if you're still here!" Kay said warmly, waving to Raven as she went back to the kitchen to cook some more.

Susanne lie limp on the bed, her chest rising and falling heavily. Her body was becoming weaker, her mind also. It was losing it's will to fight against exhaustion. Her lack of water, food and shelter had worn her down bit by bit. She whimpered faintly.....ever so, hearing voices swirling. Faint voices, becoming fainter. The only memory she wished to recall was the warm arms of the man who had caught her....nothing else crossed her mind. She would not remember, even in her weak state, the horror of the last three days. She tried not to let those come back....she only remembered his arms.
The touch of a cold clothe on her fore-head brought not sound or movement from her. None at all.

Dalin listened quietly to Gabriel's findings. He nodded, and gestured but did not speak until he was finished. "I see....thy amount of people in the Inn does not matter. Who ever dies, dies" he said crudely. "But the girl must perish regardless." the sound of footsteps caused him to become rigid, he whirled and took Akar cleanly from it's sheath. He saw the fleeting of a shadow then Jaegar appeared. He grunted and stepped up to him. "I heard you...." he was interrupted when Jaegar reported he had missed his target, but would not miss again. Dalin's eyes become like slits, a cruel cold gaze was focused at Jaegar. "You are right....you will not miss this time for their will be only one chance for you" he breathed with the wind then turned back to the remainder of his group, hiding his sword under the folds of his cloak. "We will move in one at a time....one of us will enter the Inn.....three will surround the building, making sure no one escapes. Me and another will climb they out side and access they room of which these rebels are staying. They will die silently, quietly, and quickly" He finished looking at them from under his hood.

Adi was led into the room at the end of the hall, and glanced about. The young lady and young man from downstairs were both standing next to the girls' bed, looking concerned. Adi moved forward and stood looking down at her, looking for signs of any wounds.
Adi spotted several small scrapes and scratches scattered about on her arms, but nothing severe. "She doesn't appear physically hurt..." Adi stated. She bent down next to the girl's chest, and put her ear to it, "her breathing is normal..."
Adi bit her lip, "From what I can see, she just looks exhausted, and it's like her body has pulled into itself, shutting out the rest. I'll mix up some herbs that might wake her." She brusquely walked to the door, "Oh, and keep her cool with that cloth, she's burning up."
~~~
Jarien met her at the base of the stairs with a questioning look. Adi shook her head, "The girl isn't physically wounded, just really tired. And the big guy, the blacksmith, told me someone had been chasing her, possibly hunters." She finished the last in a whisper."
Jarien was instantly alert, and he scanned the faces of the crowed with his eyes, "If they are hunters, this inn won't stop them...nothing will." He patted her shoulder, "I want to have a talk to this blacksmith."
He brushed past her and ascended the stairs, to the second floor. The only room with an open door and light streaming from it was the one at the end of the hall, so he quietly walked to the door, and stepped in.
Jaegar growled a little at Dalin's response, but nodded, "Aye" he said, and spun away, to blend into the shadows with the rest of them.
He listened with the rest to the orders, then spoke quietly, "what is the job of the one inside? Does he prevent the quarry from escaping the room?"
"No... Its to murder everyone still inside to prevent anyone from telling authority" Gabriel muttered "Inocent people who have never thought of rebeling against the king" he got that much out before he was kicked in the ribs by his uncle who was still on his horse "He'll go in" Gabriel glared up at the man before walking back into town.
"The boy's an idiot but he will do his job" the evil man said before saying "I'll take patrol on the outside... seeyah later guys" he said before riding in after Gabriel.
Falcon finished his stew, and sat staring at the empty bowl. Kind of like my life. Empty and meaningless Falcon took a breath, then smiled, and completely undisturbed. I think I’ll keep it that way.
Hinvi finished the stew, and poured it into two small bowls. “Enjoy. It’s not the best meal I’ve done yet, but I will do for this cold night.”
