Edmund wanted to slow down, to see if she was okay, but feared the HUnters would catch up. He was pretty sure of himself but he could not be so sure of himself when it come's to a lady 's safety. "You don't know me? Everybody knows me and talks about how terrible I am because they are jealous of my wits! I am the one the only Edmund O'Riley and gonna set up a revlotion! Now, Miss, you still have failed to tell me your name and what you were doing in such dangerous territory alone."

Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters
“You mean the forest is too quiet.” Hinvi said, “Or is it Hunters you are worried about? Well I’ll tell you something, you don’t have to worry about that, I bumped into the wrong side of one of them, and he told me, ‘You are the largest worthless mass of human, unworthy of my blade to penetrate.’” Hinvi laughed, “He was angry. Unfortunate for me he really meant just his sword, so I was left to wander the wilderness for a month, the whole time with an arrow wound in my thigh.”

"If we are to be traveling together, what am I to call you?"

Hinvi put his head up high, “My name is of no importance to you.” Hinvi said, mocking what the girl had said before. Then he laughed, “My name is Hinvi Oresmite. Now, don’t you think it fair I know your name now?”

Aeryn chuckled lightly, for perhaps the first time in a long time. "Fair enough, I suppose. My name is Aeryn."

((OOC: When Aeryn said she was a hunter, she's meaning literally, she's a hunter. She's never heard of the Shadowed Hunters.))

Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters

Jaegar tensed as the young man got on to the horse with the girl. His eyes darted to the rearmost shadow in their group, their leader, as he also watched the girl and boy ride away.

He saw Dalin turn and move away, and Jaegar's gaze flicked one last time to the blacksmith standing, alone now, in the clearing. He glanced back to Dalin, saw his hand move ever so slightly.

Jaegar took that as his cue. He moved the point of his arrow up and in line with the blacksmith's chest, where his heart would be. He took a breath, and released the arrow.

Without waiting to see if it struck, he turned and swept back into the woods, following the others as they moved off.

Micah watched the horse and it's riders dissapear, wondering who they both were. He turned back toward the woods; it was too dark to see much anymore; but he could hear buzzing insects, and a few night birds calling. Whoever was there, they didn't seem to be pursuing their attack. Micah sheathed Torshiul, his scimitar, and turned, intent on going back into the smithy.

No sooner had he turned back to the shop did he hear the tell-tale sound of a whizzing arrow cutting through the night. At the same moment he felt a tug at his right shoulder, and he instinctively ducked his head and rushed into the shop. He stared at his shoulder; his flesh had been left untouched, as the arrow had apparantly glanced off his chainmail. He nearly laughed out loud; he didn't usually make a habit of wearing chain mail. He had only put the mail shirt on minutes before, just testing it's size and weight, as it was a piece of merchandise made at the shop. Guess I have to keep it now, he thought, looking at the damaged links near his shoulder, no one will buy a scarred mail shirt.
Micah wasted no time in leaving. He locked up the shop, rushed out the back door, and quickly mounted his horse, Qirao. "Yah!" He urged in a hushed voice, and Qirao took off up the road toward the rest of the town.

Raven shrugged lazily. "Oh, I don't know. Something that pays well but doesn't involve anything too strenuous. Where I come from, people of my station don't work for a living."

She paused, looking thoughtful. "Though I do have some experience in .. ah .. private security. Do you know of any reasonably wealthy persons who might need a bodyguard?"

Raven did not have any work experience as a personal bodyguard. She had, however, had eighteen of them since she was old enough to leave the house. If that didn't qualify her to be a bodyguard, what did?

“I’m afraid ya miss understood what I meant.” Hinvi said, “When I said Hunters, I meant the hunters, as in the Shadowed Hunters.”

Aeryn chuckled lightly, for perhaps the first time in a long time. "Fair enough, I suppose. My name is Aeryn."

“Aeryn, Eh?” Hinvi said, “That’s a nice name.”
Then Hinvi pointed at the Ferret which was on Aeryn’s Shoulder. “What is his name?”

"The Shadowed Hunters?" Aeryn asked, her eyes narrowed in confusion. "I don't know what you're talking about."

She lifted her hand to pet the ferret. "Chyrr. His name is Chyrr."

"Chyrr? That's a nice name.” Hinvi said, “And I’m really quite shocked you haven’t heard of the Shadowed Hunters. The Shadowed Hunters are a group of cruel ruthless murderers, who go around killing people. I fear the outcome of anyone meeting up with one of them.”

Return of the Fountain Fellowship

Kay frowned in thought. "Not offhand." She said, "But you could always check out the Senate base in this area. No one likes them, so I guess they'd need bodyguards."

A bubbling noise that had been going on merrily in the background of their conversation became louder and then exploding into hissing. Kay's eyes widened. "My eggs!" She cried out. "Just a second!" She called to Raven as she ran into the kitchen to save the cooking eggs.

Hinvi shook his head, “Oh, they’ve tried… and died.” Hinvi said, “But mostly people have learned to live around them… and eventually end up dead with an arrow in your chest. Some people blame the king, saying he should do something. I say ‘Who cares?’ and so I travel around, being in opposite places then the Hunters.”

Vayond: The Shadowed Hunters

Susanne felt the boy's hot breath on her neck, but any other sensation was blotted out by her pure exhaustion. When he again assaulted her mind with the question of a name, tears sprung to her eyes. She wanted to be left alone...the stranger behind her was stopping her from resting what little she could on a moving horse. Pouting she whispered "Susanne....my name....is Susanne..." Her eyes then lolled back into her head and she fell back, sleeping faintly.

Dalin slid through the forest his men close behind him. They were shadows, fleeting from here to there, no one was ever sure whether they were even real or if they were ghosts. The very few who ever caught sight of one of their movements, thought only that they were haunting of past lives that had been taken. Glancing over as Jaguar returned to the group, his whispered as the wind blew "Taken down?"

"Whoa!" Micah called, brining Qirao to a halt outside the Westshore Inn. He searched the area for any sign of the two strangers, wondering whether his decision to send the girl along with the boy was a good one or not. He led his horse around to the stables, and there saw the boy and the girl. The girl was apparently unconscious, looking no better off than she had earlier - in fact, possibly worse after the ride. Micah tied Qirao off to a post and hurried up to help the boy get the limp girl off of the horse. "She passed out?" He asked. "I'm Micah, by the way. Micah Tanniyn."
