Skandar bungee jumped? Isn't this the kid who was all freaked out about standing on the cliff during LWW? ;)) It looks like he's really grown bolder since the first film.

@Valiant: the difference with Christians is that they know where they're going when they die, i.e. if for some reason something goes wrong when they're sky-diving or bungee-jumping. The fear of death is human, especially in non-Christians. Christians are the only ones who shouldn't be afraid to die. So Skandar should fear death, but he doesn't. If Skandar is fearless, why? Cause he thinks there's nothing after death... :(

@eustace: yes, the man should be the protector and provider--which is why I want Skandar to be a homeboy for the sake of his future wife and children. ;) I also hope he never loses his sense of adventure. I just want it to redirected, like the apostle Paul. ;)

@Juliana: really? lol!

I'm pretty sure he was attached to a rope. It's not like he went in without any precautions

@eustace: of course he was attached to a rope. But what if the rope had broken? Thank God it didn't! According to Wikipedia,

There is a wide spectrum of possible injuries during a jump. One can be injured during a jump if the safety harness fails, the cord elasticity is miscalculated, or the cord is not properly connected to the jump platform. In most cases this is a result of human error in the form of mishandled harness preparation. Another major injury is if the jumper experiences cord entanglement with their own body. Other injuries include eye trauma, rope burn, uterine prolapse, dislocations, bruises, whiplash, pinched fingers and back injury.

Age, equipment, experience, location and weight are some of the factors, and nervousness can exacerbate eye traumas.

In 1997, Laura Patterson, one of a 16-member professional bungee jumping team, died of massive cranial trauma when she jumped from the top level of the Louisiana Superdome with improperly handled bungee cords and collided head-first into the concrete-based playing field. She was practicing for an exhibition intended to be performed during the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXI. The bungee jumping portion of the show was removed from the program and a commemoration of Patterson was added.

The point is that accidents happen. And the risk goes up in extreme sports. Try googling "bungee jumping accidents." You'll find websites and video. In the meantime, pray for Skandar's physical safety! Please! :(

Ok guys, it's time to drop this and discuss something else. This is not a prayer thread and Skandar is responsible for his own choices. We can sit here and play "what if" all day long. This line of discussion is not going anywhere and it is time to talk about something else. Any further discussion on this topic will be removed.

Moving on... It will be interesting to see how Edmund and eustace interact in the film version of VDT as opposed to the book. It is interesting how Eustace seems to grate on Edmund the most at first (in the book), but ends up being a very sympathetic listener (along with Reepicheep) after Eustace is undragoned.

I hope the movie follows the book in that respect. :)

So, Eustace grates on Edmund the most but when undragoned Edmund is the most sympathetic listener? Or Eustace is sympathetic towards Edmund?

I changed "most" to "very". Edmund is very sympathetic upon encountering Eustace on the beach after being undragoned.

Reepicheep was very kind while he was still a dragon and lying on the beach.

Can't think of anything else right now. :D

^^ that's very interesting! I noticed it too, having just re-read VotDT this past week.....Edmund is constantly after Eustace for his awful behavior, but is the first to forgive and sympathize with him once he has changed!

the sailors were all vert symathetic to Eustace too.

I wonder how they'll do that scene in the book where Eustace returns to the group after being "undragoned" by Aslan. That was the point when he was met by Edmund on his way back and they were reconciled after the previous friction between the cousins.

Wonder if they'll keep in these lines, in some form or other...
Edmund: That's all right. You were only a m**f - I was a traitor.
Eustace: Well, I don't want to hear about it, then.

^^ I really, really, really, hope they do, and don't just skip that scene altogether. That's one of my favourite parts of VDT. I wouldn't mind if they expanded it, even.

I hope too that those lines are in the movie DCLeadboot. That is the most emotional part in the book besides the ending. I love how Edmund opens up to Eustace during that part and I dislike the fact that it wasn't in VDT BBC series.

Yeah, we don't really see that much of Edmund, as in, him reflecting on the past, and I love that.
(Hence the quote in my sig :p )

yes! It would be very meaningful if Edmund said just that in your sig in the movie. If he doesn't that'll be one thing that would bother me that's not there.
