I can't wait 'til VODT, Edmund will have more screen time and show how Edmund's matured!!! Plus Skander is a fine actor so...I just cannot wait!

I was just thinking about the scene where he believed Lucy and the others didn't. When she turned to him tearfully, he looked sad, as if he felt sorry for her.

eustacegirl: yes! that scene is really sad and awesome at the same time. it's sad because Peter and Susan and Trumpkin won't believe Lucy, and it's awesomebecause it really shows how Edmund is paying attention and how he really gets it while the others don't!

That scene is really bad. The dialogue is terrible in it. Edmund's head nod was the best part.

There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.

I love that scene a lot, it was one of my favorite parts of the book to begin with because that scene highlighted how his attitude towards Lucy changed. It's one of my favorite scenes of the movie along with his duel with Trumpkin, him breaking the ice and the delivery of the challenge. (I'm so biased ;) )But after listening to the cast commentary, I can't help thinking about Skandar's swollen lips when watching that scene even though I can't really tell the swollen lips.

I love watching the film with the commentary, Skandar made the funniest comments imo

Saying that, I'm a bit nervous about Deathwater ... I hate that bit in the book, especially what Caspian and Edmund say - anyone else agree? That is to say, Skandar's a good actor and I'm sure he can pull it off well, but I just hate that the character even says what he does.

I did not think of that! *Gulps* :-s I hope that they don't turn VOTD into a Peter Caspian dispute between Ed and Caspian! Well At least there is a new director and hopefully he does a better job than Andrew, Which i think he will! I have heard a lot of good about him!

From the latest VDT movie blog:

Bungee jumping off the highest bridge in the Southern Hemisphere.
Conquering the third highest canyon swing in the world.
Diving off Auckland’s Sky Tower’s terrifying 630-foot cable drop.
The act of a daredevil?
No, just that of a curious and fearless teenager.
His name is Skandar Keynes.

Am I the only one who didn't like this? Who found it disturbing? :-s

Check out these links. They're about the psychology of thrill seekers... :-s

1 Wikipedia: “A thrillseeker (or thrill-seeker or thrill seeker) is a person who seeks thrills, commonly associated with extreme sports.”
2 Student paper that “describes the psychology of thrill seeking through three different views, including several of Sigmund Freud's ideas”
3 Thrill seekers lack brakes in the brain

I don't want to sound rude, but based on the links you posted 220, you clearly do not understand what an adrenaline junkie is... have no fear, Skandar is NOT one. :)
Someone who falls into the category of what you're talking about is literally addicted to the release of dopamine that taking risks of that nature brings on. It's just like anyone else abusing drugs. You constantly have to get a "hit" on a daily or twice-daily basis or you start to go nuts.
Skandar doing three things over the course of the film? Yeah.... nothing to worry about. If that classifies as an adrenaline junkie, I don't know anyone who isn't one. :))

@eustacegirl: I'm NOT saying he's mentally ill. I just don't know what's going on in his psyche/unconscious that would make him do stuff like this--ever... :-s

@fantasia_kitty: maybe I don't know what an adrenaline junkie is, I just don't want Skandar to turn into one or almost die trying... :(

Do we really understand the minds and hearts of atheists? Do we? What would you do if from childhood someone told you over and over, and you really believed, "There is no God." What would you do? Besides, somebody has to look out for Skandar's neck! And I'm praying God does. I want God to make him a "homebody"--seriously. :p

220, enjoying things like bungee jumping has nothing to do with being an atheist. ;) I know quite a few Christians--who also happen to be guys--who think dangerous stuff like that is incredibly exciting. I also know a Christian guy who's sky-dived and LOVED it. I think it's fairly typical of all guys, including Skander, to enjoy doing stuff like this. :) I don't think you need to worry too much about it!

I really hope Skandar gets to say that "record stinker, Eustace" line in VDT.

Ooh, yes! I'm looking forward to that, as well. Also I hope he says to Lucy when Eustace is rambling about "assonance-something-or-other" the bit about "don't ask him what he means, he's just dying to tell you". :p

I for one do not want Skandar to be a homebody. I think the man is supposed to be the protector and provider. I hope he never losese hsi sense of adventure, within reason of course.
