I saw this crazy story on the internet tonight that Skandar has gotten married. I couldn't find a single website to substantiate it. Has anybody seen or heard anything?

Congrats to Skandar if it turns out to be true.

I saw that, too. I don't think it's true, given the way the post I read seemed to read- it sounded more like the person writing it was a fangirl ( ;;) ) who was writing it about herself.

Definitely a fan girl writing about herself...

In other news, Skandar will graduate from Cambridge in late June, with a B.A. in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies!

I heard about this post about Skandar possibly being married and when I find that it was a fan girl post I felt almost disappointed about that. I was hoping yeah, our Skandar is a happily married man. Oh well. :(

Thanks so much for posting this story! Not that I'm crazy over Skandar, but "In Freedom's cause" is one of my all-time favorite books by G. A. Henty. I knew Bill Heid had dramatized "Under Drake's flag" but it's not one of my favorites. If you're interested in the production but not sure if the story is worth your while, It's about William Wallace, Robert Bruce, and Scotland's struggle for freedom, all from the view of a young man named Archie Forbs.
Here is the free project Gutenberg E-text. http://www.gutenberg.org/files/4792/4792-h/4792-h.htm

I'm definitely keeping my eye on this one!

@Liberty: thank you! I've been meaning for days to check NW; I finally did today. Why did this never show up in my Google news alerts? X(

In Freedom's Cause
I emailed producer Bill Heid. The assistant producer replied. He told me that recording took five days (in London) and Skandar plays the nemesis Sir Allan Kerr - changed from Sir John Kerr in the book. :)

Cambridge graduation
Skandar will graduate next month, June 25. I created a graduation project for him. Please send me something! The deadline is June 10. :)

MAY 24 UPDATE

1. The assistant producer corrected me on Skandar's role. Sir Allan Kerr is the son of Sir John Kerr and both are in the book. My mistake... :P

2. Business Insider Australia talked to Skandar and other Cambridge students this week. He revealed his post-graduation plans! <3

For the past four years, Keynes put his acting career on pause -- explaining, 'I had found an area of study that I was really passionate about, and I couldn't rationalize delaying taking that opportunity.' While he hasn't discounted a return to the movies, he's secured a couple of post-graduate internships and plans to pursue a career related to his studies.

The Cambridge Student said the 16 were chosen via student nominations. http://www.tcs.cam.ac.uk/news/0032536-c ... sider.html

I enjoyed reading the article on Skandar's current direction in schooling. That's cool. :) Best of luck to him, I hope he can find a job or whatever in his area of study!

Skandar said in the article that he's already secured a few internships. I guess he'll work on those before landing a paid position. His sister Soumaya did an internship before finding economist jobs.

I interviewed the "In Freedom's Cause" producer Bill Heid via email this week. He graciously replied to my questions. Here was my favorite part. :)

We are having someone from BBC put together a video trailer of all the behind-the-scenes happenings from our recording session in London to provide our listeners with a taste of what is to come. Much of our advertising is acquired through endorsements from Glenn Beck, Kirk Cameron, and others.

Congratulations to Skandar!

Can't believe he's grown up so much, and it's so neat to think of him graduating at the same school that C.S. Lewis used to teach at as chair of Mediaeval and Renaissance Literature. It sounds like Skandar has really broadened his horizons with his new degree and that's wonderful, though do I hope he's able/willing to return to acting if they ever make an adaptation of The Last Battle, alongside with Georgie, Will and Anna. That would be an awesome reunion. :)

Wow, he looks so grown-up!

I'm glad he's happy, but I am sorry to lose him from the acting ranks. I was looking forward to seeing what else he'd do and I was really hoping he and Thomas Gibson would play father and son in something, because they look so much alike. (One of them would have to change accents, but that's always doable).

I hope if we get LB and HHB, he at least comes back for them. Edmund just wouldn't be the same otherwise. But I wish him well anyway.
