Good to hear that I'm not the only crazy one, MountainFireflower.
It's so cool because now, even with songs I've heard a million times, they are suddenly more interesting since I have something new to listen for. I find myself tapping my right foot for the bass drum, my right hand for the hi-hat, left hand for the snare, etc
Here is a cover I just did of Hot Air Balloon by Owl City... electronica works strangely well on the harp. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2hyXfioZ8w
Nice MissAravis! I love that song by Owl City! Can you do some other of their songs??

I bought my third guitar today! It is another acoustic. I bought it for $20, and found out later that it's worth about $150.
It was made on December 28, 1974, so it's twenty years older than me.
The only other twenty I can think of that goes with it is that it took me twenty minutes to apply all the duct tape required to hold the case together.
I can't play it yet, because three of the bridge pins are missing, but I know a place where bridge pins are 25 cents each, so that will be an easy fix.
*pops out to go calm down*

^that's great! I really really need to get some new strings for my guitar. Right now they're extremely rusty. They've been on there for like six years!
awesome cover Kat
.

Rusty?! You do need new strings. Have you tried wiping them down with a damp rag? Doing that regularly keeps that from happening.

^well I never touched it til like last month so no
.

Strings run down even without playing them, but they last longer. Not quite six years, though.
Strings are only at their best for (max) a year (less if played at all
). My strings need changed at least every six months because I play so much.

^wow yeah. My friends are always shocked when they see the guitar
. I think I know where I can get some strings though, some place where I used to order violin strings. Now those last a lot longer. I think I changed my strings twice in 7 years, but then again, I didn't play all that much
.

Haha, one of my aunts has a guitar that wasn't played for at least ten years. I tried to play it, but the strings were so old they wouldn't hold a tuning.

^haha yeah the tuning on mine is horrible, especially b/c I use my piano to tune it and the piano is horribly in need of tuning
.

GtG: I would highly recommend an electric tuner. I got mine when I purchased my guitar, and it has made ALL the difference. It's very easy to use, and I love it.
Shout out to the guitarists: How do you tune your guitar? With an electric tuner, or by ear?
av by dot
Tuner. I can't do it by ear. I can't quite hear pitch well enough.
I really like the tuner I have. I can sing a note, and it will tell me what note it is.
Or I can plug in the electric guitar to tune it.

^my old violin tuner did something like that.
What tunder would be a good one to get? Around how much are they?

I would recommend the tuner I have, but it comes with a guitar package.
I've seen tuners cost anywhere from $10 to $99 (for pedal tuners; rather pricy).

MountainFireflower, I usually let my brother-in-law tune my guitar when he and my sister come over. But iffen he ain't around I try to tune it myself. A tuner would be very nice though...
