Brian gasped for breathe of air, as Peter dialed his mother on the phone. The young Teen laid his head over and his eyes closed. The Paramedic sitting in the back felt his pulse and nodded "Just resting....shock often puts it's victims to sleep...intense pain also does"

Peter put the phone to his ear as he heard the ringing on the other end. Finally there was a click and a femanine voice answered "Yes...Brian is that you dear? Is everything alright"

There was a gasp all around the room.

"Shot him?" Miley exclaimed "How horrible!" She rubbed her brother's arm "I hope he'll be alright" she looked at his face "Are YOU okay Justin? Your pale...."

Peter said, "No, it's his friend Peter. Everything is not alright. Some crazy man shot him." He got all the words out in one breath

Justin shook his head. "David said I caused his sister to go in jail."

"What?" Exclaimed Miley, not believing it "You wouldn't send any girl to jail.....I know you wouldn't." she said her innoccent eyes gazing up at him.

There was a gasp on the other end of a phone and crying and he didn't hear anything for a bit until another voice came on

"Hello!??? This is Brian's father. What have you said to my wide? She's bawling her eyes out!" a middle aged man's voice said

Justin ran a hand through his hair. "That's what I thought. I had no clue what he was talking about. He said I made her do something and I don't know what i made her do."
Jen put her two cents in. "Well, it wouldn't do any good asking him what it is. That will only make him meaner."

Peter felt his own tears come in. "Some crazy man shot Brian!"

Miley nodded. "Yeah....if he shot Brian then is REALLY mean!!!!" she said scratching her head. "But Justin....what about his sister in Jail? Are you sure you can't remember what you made her do?"

Suddenly the Phone ran and his wife, Maralyn picked it up "Hello this is the Thomas house, Maralyn speaking....who is this? Oh the DA...." she glanced at justin fervently "Alright.....you want my husband to what!?" she exclaimed "Oh...no, no...no problem. Thank you....good-bye" she gulped and looked at him "That was the District attorny. He saws you have been served a subpoena. You have to appear in court tomorrow at 10:00 am. to testify against Ian Alvero."

"What!?!?!" Brian's Dad exclaimed. His voice became choked "How is he? where is he?"

Before Justin could answer Miley, he heard Maralyn tell him he had been summoned. "I am not testifying against Ian! That is crazy! Can I testify for him or dose it have to be against?"
Curiously, Miley asked, "Who's Ian?"
Justin answered, "Remeber, that guy hwo helped us rescue Kayla?"

Peter wiped his eyes. "At the hospital. He's still concious."

"Yes of course. He had long hair and was quiet and nice" she said. "Is HIS name Ian?" she asked.

"We'll be right there" there was a click as his father hung up the phone.

Justin nodded sadly. "But they shaved his head. Not bald, but almost."
Miley's eyes opened wide. "What they would have done to you."
Justin stroked her long, dark hair. Then, he turned to Maralyn. "Okay. I will apeear in court." He gave his wife a long hug. "I can't believe how close I was not not being able to see you for a long time."

Peter rushed to Brian's side in the hospital room. Turning to the nurse, he asked, "How is he holding up?"

The nurse turned to him "Okay....but we have to do surgey, and remove the bullet" She said preparing his friend to go into the emergency room.

Maralyn nodded and hugged him tightly back. "Now Sarah will have her father here....when she is born" she whispered to him.

Justin stroked her long, dark hair. "I am so glad we made it this far." He gave her a kiss, remebering a time when she had dumped him and he was depressed and wondering if they would ever get back togehther. Now, here they were, with a baby on the way.
Chloe and Miley looked at each other, grinning form ear to ear.

Peter saw that he needed to leave the room, so he turned to Brian. "I will be waiting for you." He left the room, praying his friend would be okay.

Maralyn felt safe in his arms. She loved her husband and reaching a hand up she put her fingers in his growing hair. "she'll have your hair Justin. And I'll never cut it" she said.

Brian looked up, but his brain was in a pain filled hase. "Peter?" he asked then moaned and laid his head back down as the nurse wheeled him out and toward the emergency for his surgey.

With a grin Justin asked, "Mine or hers?" He let her stroke his short, dark hair, glad it still flipped at the back of his neck and glad his baby girl will know him. Still..would she like him?

"I'll never cut yours or hers" Maralyn said quietly. She suddenly felt a little weak again and sank in her husbands arms. Her hand slipped from his hair and down to his shoulder.

He saw Maralyn's eys grow weak, as she fell into his arms. "Maralyn, are you alright? Is it the baby?"
Jen rushed to their side. "It's only been six months. She cnan't be born yet!"

"No no....it's not the baby...." Maralyn said "It can't be.....I just feel weak" she responded quietly "Justin......." there were beads of sweat standing on her forehead.
