Peter licked his own lips, then helped Jen up, wincing in pain. "Stay close to me. I will make sure you don't fall. Are you okay?" He loved her and did not want anything else bad happening to her.

The man answered, "I was at home with my family. I saw the video the day."

"So they broke in during the night, when you were home with your family?" The lawyer inquired, wanting to get some where.

Jen nodded again, feeling dizzy "I'm dizzy...but..but....I think i'll be alright. " she swallowed.

They all heard siren's, approaching in the distance. The man, who was head of the orphanage, cried "NO!! No police..." he said coming toward Peter again

The man sighed, "That's what I said, isn't it?"

Peter held her close. "Rest your head on my shoulder."

The policeman saw a huge man going after two children huddle to each other. He rushed towards the man and grabbed his arms and read him hsi rights.

"Alright. Thank you very much. You may step down" he said and returned to his seat.

The Prosecutor stood again "I now call another witness. Mrs. Brington. She was an eyes witness of the boys crime." he said as she was sworen in and sat. "Now....Mrs. Brington, you were sitting across the street in your car at the time, is that correct?"

The Man struggled, vehemetly denying he commited a crime "Let me go officer. IT"S THESE KID"S! It's there fault. I didn nothing wrong" he stated glaring at him.

"He abused her" Miley cried from the corner holding Natasha.

Mrs. Brighton was tired and at the point where she almost no longer cared. The trial ahd been going on too long. "Yeah, I think."

The officer considered the teen girl's words. TUrning to Miley, he asked, "What was he doing to her?"

Peter was holding Jen, asking God to help Jen and himself. He grimaced at the pain in his own leg and asked, "Still dizzy?"

The Judge looked at his watch and cleared his throat "It's is the noon hour. This court is adjurned until 2:00 o'clock this afternoon"

People began to get up, and move out. Two armed guards, came to take Ian back to his holding cell in the jail.

"Sir" Miley said bring Natasha forth "He beat her I believe, there were bruises on her face. And she was crying"

"A little" Jen said holding her head with her hand.

Holding Jen, Peter pulled out a chair and sat, having her sit in his lap. He held her close, stroking her hair.

Justin rushed to Ian on the way out. "How are you holding up?"

The cop looked at Natasha and gently turned her face from side to side, looking at the bruises. "I see...." he said turning back to the man.

Miley took Natasha aside. "Here Chrissa take her outside" she said

Jen looked back at Peter, and smiled a bit, feeling his hands within her hair.

Ian made a face "Okay....I guess...."

Justin shook his head, the situation uncalled for. "I can't believe they actually wanted me to testify against you. How would they know to call me, since Kevin disappeared?"

Chrissa grabbed the small girl's hand gently, taking her outside. When they were out there, she said, "I really wish I coudl find a nice home for you."

Peter was glad to see Jen smiling at him, glad she was safe for now. "Feeling better?"

"I don't know" he said looking down at his hands "Justin...why are they even having this stupid trial!? They know I stole the necklace don't they!? Why don't they just send me to jail, and be done with it." he took a breath of frustration. "I would rather just serve my time and get out as fast as I can, to get on with my life. I made a mistake, now I want to fix it" He felt the armed officers, grip tighten on his arm

Natash nodded, wiping her eyes with her shirt sleeve. "Lot's of other children were adpoted. I don't understand why no one likes me" she cried. "Could you adopt me?"

"Yes. Some what now." Jen said wiping her lip "What about you?"

Before Justin could answer, he saw the armed officer grab Ian. That made him wonder why they were even having the trial also, when Ian told them he stole the necklace. Before Ian could leave, Justin suggested, "Maybe they were trying to figure out sentencing?" Still, that didn't make sense if they were still asking whether or not he stole it.

Peter said, "Probably have a giant bruise on my hace and leg. I landed pretty hard when he knocked me down."

Chrissa looked at the girl, sadly. "I wish I could, but I'm only 17."

Natasha looked sad, and covered her face with her hands. She sobbed a little, quietly, and sat on the steps. "I want a family...I hate being an orphan"

"Awwww....are you sure you'll be alright though?" Jen asked in a concerned tone.

Ian nodded once more, before the two officers drug him from the court room, back to his holding cell. By now, the rest of the court had left. The only two left, were Ian's attorny and his secretary who were talking in hushed tones.

Chrissa's heart plummeted, as she swallowed hard. "Maybe I can ask my parents."

Feeling part humorous, part nervous, Peter half teased-half asked,, "Do I look that bad?"

Miley told the police officers exactly what she saw. "We would come in a few times and she would be crying, with bruises on her hand. The director speaks real harshly to her.

Natasha looked up slightly, her eyes peeping above her hands. "Really!? You will..."

Jen smirked playfully at him "Not really no."

The officer, holding the orphanage director at arms length, said "Ah ha....it looks like mister your going to be spending sometime in a cell"

Relieved, Peter siad, "I will worry about myself when i get home. I'm tired of being a wimp over everything."
