What is your top place to visit, hands down?
The Holy Land. I want to see all the ancient places.
If you could live in one place/country for a year, where would it be?
Er...possibly Germany or France. I only speak a little French, though...
If you were planning an around-the-world trip, where would you stop along the way?
Wow. I'd hit the UK, France, Germany, Italy, then stop on Crete before going to Egypt, head to the Middle East and see the Holy Land, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, check out Mount Everest and travel India, then head to China, cross to Japan, and go south to New Zealand and Australia, before flying to Hawaii and then seeing Brazil before heading up to Mexico. I'd have to fit Russia in there somehow, too...
What places have you been?
Italy. Venice, Florence, Rome, the Vatican...And I've seen some of the United States.
What are all the other places not mentioned above that you would like to visit? Scandinavia and Greece. Though I think I could go anywhere and fall in love with it. We do live in a pretty awesome world...
I'm going to Quito, Ecuador for three weeks this summer! I can't wait. I went to Guatemala for two weeks this summer.
Wow! Tell me all about your travelling in Guatemala narnian_at_heart!

Well, it was a short term mission trip so we traveled around the city a lot. We stayed in Antigua at a hotel and it was really fun! We went to a restaurant called "Mono Loco" (crazy monkey lol) for lunch one day. It was while the World Cup was on so the entire restaurant was screaming and yelling and cheering because the game was playing on the TV's.
On a free day, we went to the ruins of a monastery. Although we were all students, they tried to give us the tourist price so we bargained with them and finally told them we'd only be there for half an hour so they let us in for less. So we were climbing all around and you're not supposed to go wherever they have barbed wire blocking and you're not really supposed to go on the roof. Well, rules don't mean as much down there!!! So we found a spot that wasn't blocked with barbed wire and we climbed up on the roof and just tried to stay out of sight of the guys on the ground. Well, one of the guys found an old machete up there and threw it down because he wanted to keep it. About then, some workers saw us and hollered for us to get down so we started to climb down. A guy grabbed the machete and held it and while he watched us leave.
We went to a market and it was crazy!!!! There were tons of pirated CD's there. The street next to the stalls was very narrow and so cars were always brushing against us. It was kind of creepy actually!
We did our drama in a park in front of the presidential palace which was awesome. A random shepherd with 5 or 6 goats just wandered through the middle of the park! We all had back packs and we would rope them together so people couldn't steal them. These two ladies were sitting next to our bags and one of the locals came up to one of our translators and told him that the ladies were thieves and were waiting for a chance to steal something and that we should keep on eye on our bags. So we scooted the bags away from them and one of the guys sat between the bags and the ladies. They left a few minutes later. I think they probably realized that we were onto them.
We couldn't drink anything except bottled water because they didn't want us to get sick because we weren't used to the water. We also weren't allowed to eat any food (except the hotel food) unless it was sold in a sealed package.
All in all, it was amazing!!!! I had a great time and can't wait for Ecuador this summer!
That's quite an adventure for me!^. Tell me about Ecuador next time ei!

Wow wolfloversk you have quite some unique places you want to go! I also love travelling, especially by car, with the whole family. It's amazing, though, that I have never in my life been on a plane....

*cheers at the mentions of WI* I live in the beautiful state of WI. I'm going to bypass most of the questions Val posted because I don't really like to travel. I like to see places but I don't really care that much that I haven't and don't really plan to make seeing them happen. So, I'd like to see the Eiffel Tower but I probably never will and that fact doesn't bother me. See?
Places I have traveled to/been: Wisconsin (obviously), Illinois, drove through Indiana so it doesn't hardly count, had super in Michigan, Maine, New York, had breakfast in Pennsylvania, New Jersery, had lunch in Ohio, Massachusetts.
I am about to add Kentucky to my list, might also do something of consequence in Indiana while I am at it.

OK, someone asked about Ecuador so here goes.
First it was really hot! The first day, we were doing ministry in a plaza and there was no shade whatsoever. Several girls got blisters and I got horrible sunburned shoulders because I'd rolled up my sleeves. For several days, I couldn't lift my arms above a 45 degree angle because it'd hurt too bad.
One day there we did our drama in front of a huge crowd gathered by a group of break dancers. We got to see this amazing break dancing for about 15 minutes before we did our drama.
We also got to go up to El Pancillo which is a hill with a big statue of the Virgin Mary. It's about half as tall as the Statue of Liberty. We prayed over the whole city that day.
On our last day, we went shopping at Mitad de el Munod, the center of the world monument at the Equator. We got pictures straddling the Equator line.*
Those of us who went on the extended trip went to the Galapagos to do ministry work for a week. That was amazing. We got to see the turtles and blue footed boobies in the evening once. We did a bunch of service projects and did our drama and the "Lifehouse" skit in the evenings by a wharf.
*which is apparently several hundred feet off now that they have GPS and can tell exactly where the equator is.
