All of the words you posted are splendid, Lucy85! (*is proud of herself for using one of her favorite words there* ) Especially melodious and resplendent.
Oops, my apologies, dear Fireflower! I forgot to clear the air after I dusted the thread. Hope the coughing didn't last too long.
It doesn't like my first name, OR my last name.
Would you be able to tell me what wonderstruck/wonderstrike means? I've seen it around a lot lately but haven't been able to figure out what it means - although I can probably guess.
Ah, that sounds annoying. My first name is really common, so I have it easier than you do. However, it doesn't like "Djaq." On another note, my characters in my book all have made-up names, so my poor little Microsoft Word was always 'correcting' me when there was no need for it.
I have not looked up the actual meaning of the word "wonderstruck", but I have taken it to be synonymous with stunned, amazed, and the state of being in awe. I just looked it up and it officially means, "Struck with wonder, admiration, or surprise."
Thank you muchly! It's one of my favorites. Somehow it's more fun to say than 'very much.'
Exactly! (aha! Another one of my favorites jumped out there )
Ooh, Valiant, I love rejuvenate, and vanquish!
*searches her brain for more words*
You know, this would be a great idea for NaNoWriMo. Just have your character/characters list their favorite words. It could really help your word count!

This is officially my 3rd NW post in history! Ha ha! I think this thread is 'Intriguing' enough to sit down and put some thought into.
Marshwiggle? That’s an awesome word! I want to start using it but I have no idea what it means. I’m going to use that one today if I can find a situation that seems to fit the definition of a marshwiggle, or marshwiggling. ))
Tigger (T-I-Double-Guh-Ur!) That’s great, Lucy! I was just saying that the other day to someone and I’m pretty sure they didn’t get it!
Geocache, that’s a good one, Djaq! It’s so fun to say!
Here’s just a few that are floating around in my head at the moment:
Thwart
Mellow
Nifty
Studmuffin (I’m not sure if that’s one or two words)
Bonkers
Salty (as in feeling either or about something) (not table salt )
Silicon
Mesmerizing
Flailing
Blin (made this one up myself a long time ago)
Breathtaking
Mindboggling
Ginormous (here’s a combination one for Ithilwen)
Baffled
Trickling
Surreal
Super
Mega
Derezz
And one of my favorite favorites that can fit any situation, anywhere, and at any time, like when you forget the most important word of your sentence, just throw in the word “Thingmajig” and your problem is solved! It’s probably not one to use in an interview or something important like that, but it’s saved me many times in everyday conversation . “Whatchamacallit” usually works about the same way.
Oh yeah, and I thought of a new nickname for Flambeau when I saw Flamboyant/Flamboyantly on Djaq’s list. Flamboyant Flambeau, or just Flamboyant Flam, Flam Flam, or Flambiant Flam (?don’t ask about those last two?)
Okay, I’m off to class now. Maybe I’ll think of some more once my accounting teacher has lectured me into a daydream.
I like the word 'elusive'. Its so whispery and mysterious. I also admit to liking the word 'insinuation', because the way you say it suggests a snake crawling around and whispering creepy stuff in your ear. And I like 'despicable' because it is fun to say.

Oops, my apologies, dear Fireflower! I forgot to clear the air after I dusted the thread. Hope the coughing didn't last too long.
Ah, it wasn't too bad, Djaq dear! ... *cough cough* I think I'm--*cough*--mostly over it.
Ah, that sounds annoying. My first name is really common, so I have it easier than you do. However, it doesn't like "Djaq." On another note, my characters in my book all have made-up names, so my poor little Microsoft Word was always 'correcting' me when there was no need for it.
Yeah, my name is somewhat common, but for some reason Microsoft Word doesn't like it. My characters have made up names too, so my spell checker is very unhelpful on that note. I mostly ignore it.
I have not looked up the actual meaning of the word "wonderstruck", but I have taken it to be synonymous with stunned, amazed, and the state of being in awe. I just looked it up and it officially means, "Struck with wonder, admiration, or surprise."
Ooh, I like that definition. Thanks! I suppose I could have looked it up too, but thank you for doing the work for me.
I love the word "exactly" too!
You know, this would be a great idea for NaNoWriMo. Just have your character/characters list their favorite words. It could really help your word count!
You're right! That would be perfect! I might have to consider that next time.
starflare, I love the word studmuffin! It's perfect! And what does blin mean? It sounds fascinating. I like to make up words too.
Lady Haleth, you're so right about the word insinuate! It does sound snake-ish! I love saying despicable & elusive. I agree with your whole post.

Marshwiggle? That’s an awesome word! I want to start using it but I have no idea what it means. I’m going to use that one today if I can find a situation that seems to fit the definition of a marshwiggle, or marshwiggling. ))
Lol! A Marshwiggle is a creature in The Silver Chair (one of the Narnia books). There is a main character who is a marshwiggle, and his name is Puddleglum. He's pretty awesome. He is also rather pessimistic. Ooh, so "marshwiggling" could mean that you are being negative or pessimistic about something (it's a common trait of a marshwiggle). Like, "Don't be such a marshwiggle."
Your list is great, stare! I laughed out loud several times while reading it! "Thingamajig" and "Whatchamacallit" are both great words, and very helpful in several situations!
Oh, and amusing nicknames for flam!
Perfect post, Lady Haleth! Your descriptions of the words are right on!
Ah, it wasn't too bad, Djaq dear! ... *cough cough* I think I'm--*cough*--mostly over it.
Wow, that sounds like a nasty cough you have there, dear, you should take something for that!
Fireflower, I had to laugh when I read your list. The words are so perfectly Owl Cityish!
Perfect/Perfectly
Cataruper
Putterwinky (two words that my dad made up. There are more, but I can't remember them right now.)
Mayhaps (combination word: maybe and perhaps. Application sentence: "Mayhaps we can meet soon.")
Perzactly (Precisely and exactly. Application setence: "Perzactly what I was thinking!")
Soybean
Cabbage (Soybean and Cabbage are words that are used often around my house. I don't really know how it started, but whenever someone says 'yup,' we follow it with 'soybean' or 'cabbage.' So, it's like "yup, cabbage!" ...Yeah, I don't get it either! )

Ha ha, I guess that means I was using the word Marshwiggle incorrectly. I was telling my roommate we need to get started at marshwiggling (finish making) our costumes for a performance at our school, and he didn't seem to think anything out of the norm.
Lol! I like the idea of a marshwiggle meaning a negative person. That seems to work much better!
Mayhaps and Perzactly, those are great words! I’ve never heard of them before, but they make perfect sense, mayhaps even more sense than when they’re in their normal state.
I don’t know how to do the little quotey thingamajig that you guys do, but
“starflare, I love the word studmuffin! It's perfect! And what does blin mean? It sounds fascinating. I like to make up words too. ”
Blin is kind of a universal word. The great thing about it is that it can mean anything you want it to mean! It’s always an adjective though. It just doesn’t work as a noun or verb or anything else. An example of it would be, “Spring Break is going be so blin!” or “I’m feeling blin. I need more sleep.” There’s an infinite amount of examples
Warrior 4 Jesus, I’ve always liked the word amethyst, too. I always forget how to spell it though. It seems like it should be amythist.
Puddleglum, Redemption, Salvation, and Jesus are just about some of the best words/name that exist! Good ones!

Teenybopper (basically if a girl is in her teens, and I'm talking like 13 or 14, and likes Justin Beiber or wears the word "Diva" or "Princess" on her clothes, she's probably a teenybopper. If you need a better definition, let me know)
Alright, that's all for today fokes! I'm off
Cabbage (Soybean and Cabbage are words that are used often around my house. I don't really know how it started, but whenever someone says 'yup,' we follow it with 'soybean' or 'cabbage.' So, it's like "yup, cabbage!" ...Yeah, I don't get it either! )
That's so interesting! I know a few girls from Texas and they do the exact same thing. They have a weird accent on the word 'soybean' too...

This thread is helping to broaden my vocabulary! There are so many beautiful words, and many of them aren't used as often as they should be (just as there are many words that are used often that really SHOULDN'T be...).
W4J and puddleglum32, your lists are great! I just read through them again trying to pick a favorite, and I couldn't really pick one.
Haha, that's hilarious that he didn't think anything was odd about that statement! Good, I'm glad you agree. I'm totally going to use it next time someone is being negative.
Oh, and I used the word "Blin" the other day! I think I was talking to my brother, but I don't remember what I said.
That's so interesting! I know a few girls from Texas and they do the exact same thing. They have a weird accent on the word 'soybean' too...
Really? I didn't know that anyone else did it. *wonders if Princess would think she has a weird accent* Well, you have heard me on the phone, so you do know what I sound like.
I love the words "Reminiscent," and "Azure." Very pretty! And, "Y'all" is a definite favorite! It is probably one of my most overused words.
Valiant, the first four on your list are so fun to say!
Lady Haleth, all of those words make me think of a fairytale. Beautiful choices!
Ooh, I especially like "merry," Lucy85!
