Ithilwen, have you seen Star Trek or Star Wars? It's not anything more violent than that. And it's not too much weirder than some of the weirder Star Trek episodes. Creepy on the other hand... there are a few episodes that are very creepy.
Oh and now that Stargate's not around, are they going to start killing off the Doctor every time they need a plot like they did with Daniel Jackson?
LOL, Kat. It is becoming a bit of a theme with the Moffat era.
River's murder victim:
I am so
Spoilerrelieved that the man River kills is not Rory. The Doctor cheats death all of the time; if Rory died, it would probably be permanent.
Not necessarily...Rory has died, what, five times already? And he's still there, knock on wood. While I'm pretty sure that River isn't going to "off" him officially, I'm not all that confident on Rory's chances of really surviving this season. Although, given his miraculous powers of coming back to life, I can't count that out either.
And we've known why River didn't regenerate in the Library since that very episode, even before we found out that she had Time Lord DNA. Remember what she told the Doctor? "[the contraption] would stop both your hearts at once; you wouldn't regenerate". She wouldn't have regenerated even if she had all her "lives" left. Neither would the Doctor. No big mystery there. I think the main reason why they had River lose all of her remaining regenerations is so we the audience know that River is now "mortal". She's a Time Lord, but she can't cheat death anymore. Given the fact that they've taken the time to emphasize that this is River's last regeneration, I wouldn't be surprised if the filmmakers toy with "time can be rewritten" and put River in a position where she might have a fate different than the Library. After all, if the Doctor can die...why can't she?
Back to my theory about the River/Doctor moment...
The Doctor's Regenerations:
I'm a bit confused.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure that's not River in the astronaut suit. As a child or otherwise. Again, 200 years in the future.
@NarnianBadger:
I think she was just being "cute/snarky" when she said that. They were talking about
P.S."Brooklyn!"
I'm a bit confused.
SpoilerI thought that the Doctor dies "200 years in the future", but then the records show that he dies in 2011. That's not 200 years in the future.Oh, and I'm pretty sure that's not River in the astronaut suit. As a child or otherwise. Again, 200 years in the future.
You forgot one important point.

Doctor Who, hurry up and come back to Australian screens! Saturday night can't come quick enough.
I'd say that Doctor Who has less violence than Star Wars (the original trilogy).

SpoilerThey are both time travelers and could spend 200 years between "today" and "tomorrow" if they wanted. It's 200 years in the Doctor's future, not the viewer's.
But I thought that
I get that River could still be the astronaut, but not as a child most likely. Since we now know that she grew up with Rory and Amy.
P.S."Brooklyn!"
@ RS:
ALTHOUGH. I don't personally believe any of that, at least that it's as linear as all that. I believe that alternate and parallel timelines have a HUGE deal to do with the resolution of this particular plot line. Time can be rewritten, altered, lived and then re-lived. Think of it like one of those "Choose your Adventure" books. Amy herself has three; possibly four timelines...the one where her parents were eaten by the crack, possibly one where the Doctor came back for her as a child, one where her parents weren't eaten by the crack, and the current one, a timeline where her parents weren't eaten by the crack AND she had a best friend called Mels. None of that is how her timeline originally started, but it is how it stands now because time has been rewritten and altered.
Yeesh...now I'm confusing myself.
Decided to check in, as a fan of the Doctor, even though I've been avoiding spoilers for "Let's Kill Hitler" as I missed it this past weekend. I've found only teaser clips online...I hope that after this next episode is aired, "Hitler" will be available On Demand.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Unfortunately, I am going to miss this week's episode of Doctor Who (I'm really looking forward to it too ) so I hope that it will be available on-demand sometime during the week.
Do you think they will play this week's episode before next week's episode?

I got scared out of my pants last night by "The Empty Child". I had to stay up to watch "The Doctor Dances". I HAD to! It was so eerie and unnerving. Man oh man.

Simply follow where I lead;
let me teach you how to dance."
When did you first hear about Doctor Who? Somewhere in the middle of series 5, iTunes starting making the show available, and advertised by giving away "Rose" for free. I was really excited because these were the same people who made Merlin, so it must be good. It was better. I was hooked.
What was the first episode you watched? Already answered that bit.
ClassicWho fan or NuWho fan? I'm just a Whovian. The Doctor is the Doctor - whether in black&white or color - and I love him both ways. He's da man.
Who's your favorite Doctor? Tennant. I only just brought myself to watch the "End of Time" special a couple weeks ago. I'd been watching and enjoying Matt's interpretation for a season and a half, but it was still hard to watch Ten leave. Even my brother, who's always liked 11 best, changed his mind after seeing that two-parter. 10 is amazing.
Who is your favorite companion? That's hard. I love all the companions in different ways, for different reasons. Rose, because she and 10 were fantastic together and their reckless joy was so fun to watch. Donna, because it was refreshing to see a Doctor/companion relationship that never went beyond platonic friendship. They really were just best friends. Also, I still shipped Rose/Doctor then and bristled whenever a girl started making eyes at him. Amy&Rory, because they are brilliant and funny and sweet. They might be my favorite at the moment. I just love their relationship with each other and the Doctor; the way they interact has made me laugh, cry and want a Rory of my own. (He waited for her for 2,000 years!!!! I absolutely fell in love with his character that episode.)
How excited are you for series 6? Very. Very. Very. Excited. This season has been hands down the best so far! And I'm really enjoying the better CGI; this lovely fat budget is great.
What is your favorite episode? The "End of Time" special. It's in a class of its own.
What's your favorite soundtrack? I never really notice the music that much. I mean, I remember getting goosebumps in certain scenes and thinking, "wow, this would be so corny without the music," but I don't usually listen to the soundtrack on its own. I do really like the song Abigail sings in the series 5 special, "A Christmas Carol," though.
And now for spoilers. Hopefully all of you have seen "Let's Kill Hitler" by now, but just in case .....
